Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are said to be big supporters of changing the way women in WWE are featured, according to a report from The Wrestling Observer (via WrestleChat). It is said that much of the reasoning behind this comes from UFC’s incredible success with Ronda Rousey.

While Stephanie and Triple H are said to not be UFC fans, they remain fans of Rousey’s. Her recent Sports Illustrated cover opened their eyes to the fact that times are changing and women need to be featured in a better way.

Despite Stephanie and Triple H’s support, it is said that Vince McMahon still believes women should be featured the way they currently are on WWE’s main roster.

Triple H and Stephanie proved their support of moving women’s wrestling forward in WWE with their tweets of support for Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch after last night’s NXT TakeOver special:

Triple H also made comments to that effect during a conference call with the press earlier this week. While addressing the rumor of an all-Diva NXT special, HHH said that one isn’t in the works, but “there’s always a possibility,” adding that the world is “changing”. Five years ago, he said, Ronda Rousey wouldn’t be promoted as the most dominant athlete, and he wants to be part of that change. He said it’s just a question of getting there.

He also mentioned Charlotte and Sasha’s main event match at NXT’s Philadelphia live event, saying he was “especially proud” of that, and that what the NXT Divas do “changes the perception of what women can do in the industry.”

In a video interview published yesterday, Triple H spoke of the main event match again, claiming that his goal is to “make Divas being in the main event not a big deal.”

While Diva fans have their justifiable frustrations with the treatment of main roster Divas, it looks like Triple H and the powers-that-be down at NXT are putting their money where their mouth is.

Do you think NXT’s successes can affect change on the main roster?
