ONE TO WATCH: KELLYANNE
Who is she?: Australia’s own Kellyanne made her wrestling debut in 2009, competing across Australia and Canada before making the leap to the United States this past October to perform for SHINE and SHIMMER. Like NXT Divas Emma and Peyton Royce before her, Kellyanne is a graduate of former WWE Superstar’s Lance Storm‘s Storm Wrestling Academy and has all the potential to follow in their footsteps. She’s also an outspoken proponent of intergender wrestling, contributing to a VICE article that explored the pros and cons of women wrestling men on the Australian wrestling scene.

Her story so far: In the spring of 2012, after years of competing across Australia, Kellyanne took the biggest step of her career thus far, heading to Canada to train with Lance Storm. While there, she wrestled NXT Diva Peyton Royce exclusively over the course of 2 months. When she returned home to Australia, she continued to hone her craft for promotions like PWWA, ROH, RCW and OCW. This fall, she made her first appearances on American soil, wrestling at SHINE 30 and appearing on SHIMMER volumes 76, 78 and 79. Earlier this year, she won the PPW Pacific Women’s Championship, previously held by two Aussies who have made big names for themselves in the United States: Kellie Skater and Madison Eagles.
Why we chose her: There has been no shortage of Australian imports rocking the American wrestling scene, from NXT Divas Emma, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay to indy standouts like Madison Eagles, Kellie Skater and Shazza McKenzie. Kellyanne is positioning herself to continue that proud tradition, and 2016 is shaping up to be the year she finally breaks out. It’s only a matter of time before she joins the prestigious ranks of international women making waves abroad.
