Xplosion Write-Up: Allie catches Madison’s attention

Greetings Knockout fans and welcome to another recurring edition of TNA Xplosion Write-Up! It has been awhile since we’ve covered any Knockouts action from TNA’s other program.

While TNA Xplosion may come across as a program that throws matches with little to no storyline, one good thing that fans can take from it is that it gives us a chance to see fresh matches that otherwise wouldn’t make it to the regular Impact Wrestling shows.

Case in point, a one-on-one match-up between Madison Rayne and Allie! That’s right Knockout fans, Allie will be able to showcase a little bit of what she actually knows despite still “learning” a few tricks on Impact. Let’s see how things unfold:

Allie makes her entrance first; sporting some white and gold ring attire and decides to give herself a pat on the back for a bit of luck. Because, why not? Madison is out next (oh how I miss the Killa Queen theme song!) but before the Queen Bee can complete her entrance, she is struck in the back by Allie.

Allie keeps the corner attacks coming, adding some footwork of kicks and chokes to the mix. She takes Madison to another turnbuckle headfirst and attempts a running maneuver but Madison dodges out the way.

A window of opportunity opens for Madison and she begins to give Allie a taste of her own medicine by driving Allie’s head to parallel turnbuckles. Madison looks to end the match early on through various pin covers to which Allie kicks out of every time.

When the chain of pins fails, Madison takes Allie back to a turnbuckle and lands a running back elbow. She whips Allie across the ring, going for a second rushed offense but instead crashes her shoulder to the ring post when Allie dodges out the way.

An immobilize Madison is then struck in the back with a running dropkick by Allie. Allie maintains control and whips Madison to a corner with so much force it knocks the Queen Bee to the ground. Allie goes for her first pin attempt but Madison gets the shoulder up before the three count.

Allie goes for another pin cover after mimicking Madison’s running elbow drop, adding a screeching pitch to make it her own. When Madison kicks out at two again, she begins to set up for a comeback by taking Allie down with the use of forearms, clothesline, chops and midsection (?) enziguri.

Madison caps the fury of attacks with a Northern Lights Suplex leading to another pin but Allie kicks out just in time! Allie gets back on her feet and hoists Madison over her shoulder but Madison reverses this to a roll through pin that keeps Allie down for the count of three. Madison wins the match!

Thoughts: As I’ve said in the beginning, one of the great things about Xplosion is that it provides these exhibition matches that normally wouldn’t be on display on TNA’s regular Impact show; be that for storyline reason or not.

I can’t say this was the most exciting of Knockouts matches and it certainly felt as though it was a bit shorter than your average Xplosion match but it was a refreshing to see Allie actually be active in the ring and at the very least, show that she has “it” to wrestle.

I also did appreciate that Allie embodies more of her Heel persona here; she trash talks Madison in that high pitched voice and “steals” her maneuvers. It showed a different side of Allie aside from being second fiddle to Maria Kanellis. Still, we may not see a full fledge Heel from Allie given the events that have been unfolding on Impact.

With more time and, perhaps, a “bigger” story for fans to latch onto, both Madison and Allie can have a much better and memorable match.

What did you think of the match? Would you like to see Allie become more in-ring active on Impact Wrestling? Let us know in the comments below!
