Fans who have been waiting for the premiere of Netflix’s upcoming GLOW series can now mark June 23rd on their calendars as the shows premiere date!

The 10 episode series inspired by the 80’s show of the same name will star Alison Brie who plays Ruth Wilder, an out-of-work, struggling actress in Los Angeles who finds one last chance for stardom when she’s thrust into the glitter and spandex world of women’s wrestling.

Other characters to the show include Betty Gilpin as Debbie Eagan, a former soap actress who left the business to have a baby only to be sucked back into work when her picture perfect life is not what it seems. And at the wheel is Sam Sylvia, played by Marc Maron, a washed-up, B-movie director who must now lead this group of women and a journey to wrestling stardom.

Additionally, two-time Knockouts Champion Awesome Kong has also been cast to show in a recurring role, taking on a character by the name of Tammé who is described as “an 80’s TV actress who is always the guest star, never the star.”
