Dan Murphy Named Senior Editor-in-Chief of OWW, Diva Dirt
For Immediate Release
Dan Murphy has been named the new Senior Editor-in-Chief of wrestling sites, Online World of Wrestling and Diva Dirt. Murphy has been a writer with Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine since 1997. Murphy has also written for OWW and SLAM! Wrestling, among other wrestling web sites, and is a co-host of The PWI Podcast. He recently co-wrote the book Sisterhood of the Squared Circle: The History and Rise of Women’s Wrestling with co-author Pat Laprade.
In addition to his work with Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Murphy is a former journalist and has won awards from both the International Association of Business Communicators and the Public Relations Society of America. Murphy said he is looking forward to working with the writers and staff at both onlineworldorwrestling.com and diva-dirt.com to add exciting new content and make both sites indispensable resources for wrestling fans.
“Between its profiles, recaps, title summaries, and photo archives, OWW is already a treasure trove of information for fans. We’re going to be looking at adding even more and making the site more interactive,” Murphy said. “As the person who coordinates the annual PWI Female 50 and the author of a book on women’s wrestling, I’m very excited about joining the Diva Dirt team and helping that site continue to be the definitive destination for fans of women’s wrestling.”
Murphy said he will also look to identify synergies between the two sites and will work to improve the overall visitor experience at both sites.
“Dan Murphy is the perfect individual to serve as senior editor-in-chief of Diva Dirt and Online World of Wrestling.,” said David Buckler, who previously served as editor-in-chief of Online World of Wrestling and will remain with OWW as a correspondent and consultant. “Dan brings not only a wealth of knowledge and passion for the wrestling business, but also a well-documented, highly successful career as both an author and publisher. He is the right person for the job and it will be exciting to work with him!”
