In the singles contest, Naomi defeated Lana via a split-legged moonsault and thus retained the SmackDown Women’s championship.
Before the match began, Lana attacked Naomi from behind and inserted her spinebuster once the bell rang. However, Naomi kicked out of the pin and the match quickly came to a close.
The initial match took place at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view. Here, Carmella, the owner of the Money In The Bank, skipped down to ringside during the bout. Although she didn’t attack anyone or cash in, Lana was distracted. This soon lead to a submission that caused the Ravishing Russian to tap out. And because of this, the newcomer demanded a fairer rematch for the title. Naomi quickly accepted the challenge and was anything but afraid of the challenge.
