After Anthem Sports announced that it purchased Nashville-based Global Force Wrestling, the company is now confirming that TNA will no longer exist.

Anthem Sports, the Canadian company that also owns the Fight Network, will rebrand its wrestling league as GFW and Nashville native Jeff Jarrett will helm the creative aspects of the promotion. Its staple weekly program on Pop TV will continue to be called “Impact.”

According to The Tennessean, “The rebranding comes almost 15 years to the day that Jarrett and his father Jerry Jarrett launched TNA. The wrestling promotion ended up under the control of Dixie Carter, endured a turnstile of cable television partners and garnered negative headlines for unpaid bills, unpaid talent and state tax liens.”

The move to rebrand is designed to distance the company from the financial struggles and legal drama that hung over its brand.

GFW already has momentum in the market and Slammiversary is slated to be held on Sundy, July 2.

“We’re a global brand,” Jarrett said of the rebranding. “We have partnerships in Mexico, Japan, other places. Collectively coming together, we’ve combined forces and basically the rebrand final touches happen (on Sunday) at ‘Slammiversary.'”

I can’t help but say what everyone else has said over this year. I’m done with whatever company it’s gonna be decided to be called by the end of this year. Jeff Jarrett has bought the company to a new low. Everyone expected a return to the days of old where the women were the show and slayed every single night, yet they get time equivalent to WWE’s diva dark days of 2012. Few women stand out to me in the ring and all of the gimmicks (expect Rosemary) have been overplayed at this point. I know Gail loves the company but honestly she deserves better than all this and a final run in WWE would be amazing (plus a match with Mickie is needed so they can try and erase the bad taste their first match in WWE left)

    • Mickie and Gail already did that in TNA

      • StraightUpBitch

I know! I thought it was clear by my comment, but I guess not. I just meant that the match they had in WWE is something we still talk about today, and it’d be amazing to see WWE advertise another ‘first time match’ (that in reality we got to see multiple times yet always slays)

    • Neutral

Right they really need to get their shit together, the show and specially the women are just such a mess right now, its hard to watch.

    • PYM #TakeoverSmackdown

I would not want to see Mickie and Gail in WWE. Nobody cares anymore sadly. Look at the reactions Mickie gets. She isn’t booked great, which is true, but it almost feels like the WWE universe damn almost forgot about her. Gail made a bad choice by choosing TNA over WWE.

      • StraightUpBitch

I see your point. Mickie has been so poorly used and I hate people being like ‘she’s putting people over’ because that would be fine, but she has no character and she’s losing to some of the weakest looking moves ever

  • chrissi calvert

TNA doesnt exist anymore anyways. It was rebranded as IMPACT wrestling when Jeff Jarrett came back into control.

  • MK126

This might be a dumb ass question but where are all the other females in the locker room?? It seems like its been Rosemary/Allie/Sienna/LVN for months with Angelina and Alisha doing their feud with their husbands

    • Number One

I sense we’ll see more women after Slammiversary

    • Juan

Gail Kim- Isn’t signed to a contract

Madison Rayne- Semi retired. Mainly involved in backstage affairs

      Brandi Rhodes- Released

      Brooke- Released

      ODB- On a PPA deal

Ava/Mj/Amber- No idea. Likely also on PPA deals

Diamante- Busy with LAX. Just recovered from an arm injury

It seems Rosemary, Allie, Sienna, and Laurel were the only KO’s they took to India which is probably why the others haven’t been seen in a while.

  • GailKimStan

    *pretends to be shocked*
this has been Jeff’s plan for months

  • Neutral

Like chrissi calvert said TNA actually didn´t exist anymore, it was now called Impact Wrestling.

  • Soo the GFW women’s title is staying?

    • Neutral

Can´t believe they will have Angelina and Gail tied forever ugh

      • Ugh I hate it

      • Juan

Madison deserved to tie with them as well -.- I truly miss her in the KO division

    • Raekon

Hopefully it does cause I really like it. :)
Doesn’t mean though that they can’t have a second title for the women leaving the knockouts title active and just renaming it. :)

  • I hoped that Jarrett realized that GFW was never a relevant thing. I don’t see this helping them in any way.

    • Neutral

I think its good they are distancing themselves from TNA, GFW may not be relevant, but at least it doesn´t have the bad name TNA does at this point.

  • Nicola Byrne

    RIP Impact Wrestling 2002-2017

    • PYM #TakeoverSmackdown

It’s still going to be called Impact wrestling… looks like someone didn’t read.

      • Neutral

        Not the company.

        • PYM #TakeoverSmackdown

There will still be an impact wrestling is what I’m saying

  • TheSilverPrince

So, its going to be GFW presents Impact Wrestling, instead of TNA Presents Impact Wrestling.

    • Neutral

The company was not called Impact Wrestling, not TNA.

      • TheSilverPrince

The Show is Impact Wrestling. The company that presented and owned the show, the company advertisers negotiated with and such was TNA Wrestling. What they are doing is rebranding the company. So now its GFW that owns wrestling. TNA as a brand is gone.

  • Iteaseutouch

TNA was a sinking ship anyway

    • The Avatar

They should call it Titanic Force Wrestling instead lol.

      • Ev???

I bet it took you a long time to think of this joke.

        • The Avatar

Nah. Sometimes spontaneity hits me faster than TNA’s ability to sink.

          • Ev???

But people have been saying TNA are over for what? 3-4 years now? And are they?

          • Tamar Braxton’s Doppleganger

I didn’t say they were over. I watch the product but management sucks. Even the Kardashian trash jets more ratings than that.

          • TheSilverPrince

I just find it amusing they talk about not having to watch 20 minutes of talk to watch a match while having to watch a promo of lip flapping Non-sense. They still have pointless segments and the commentators are terrible.

          • Seraphina Rosenhart

They’re not over. But their quality has been crappy for a while now.

      • MAB #SignSantana

You’re about as creative as WWE Creative.

        • Tamar Braxton’s Doppleganger

You’re about as triggered as Nia Jax at a buffet. Relax, I love TNA but management is terrible sometimes.

          • MAB #SignSantana

Triggered? Not really. I can agree with you that the management at IMPACT can be a mess but how many times can one make a titanic joke without it getting old? It’s been said so many times, it’s a redundant remark, especially when the company is still yet to “die”.

          • Tamar Braxton’s Doppleganger

Than maybe you should’ve responded to the person that started it as well instead of taking things personally and being a snowflake about it.

  • I don’t mind the change I think It would be cool if they had green ropes and a green theme to just be different and have something WWE doesn’t.

  • Shane

This is the best thing TNA has done in a LOOOOONG time, GFW is a more commercially accepted name than Boobs n Ass Wrestling. I’m very excited for this company and wish for the best!

  • LAFEEN

Double J screwed them when it was TNA< what makes it seem like the right thing to do now?

  • Jeff Jarret is a great businessman, since he starts producing the show and owning the corporation, has been saving it from death/extinction. So if he wants to rebrand TNA/Impact to GFW is a good choice.

  • Asa bin Laden

Call crap shit all you want. It’s still nasty.

  • Nicola Byrne

So that means Rosemary will not surpass Taryn Terrell as the longest reigning Knockout champion. Which she will do mid next week. Is there any point really in re-branding it? They GFW women’s title is horrible.

  • YonceLuvsDivas

Well that’s dumb. No matter the negative things being said about TNA you can always turn things around. WWE has had negative connotations and still do but you don’t see them rebranding the name to their company.

  • Wicked Emma

    Why?
