The biggest party of the Summer is here! With two Women’s championship matches on the line, anything could happen. Both titles could change hands. Neither of them could change hand. Or maybe a cash-in from the first Miss Money In The Bank could take place? Let’s take a look at what actually happened throughout the night!

On the Kickoff show, Carmella joins the panel to discuss the night’s upcoming antics, with James Ellsworth by her side. She repeats her words on SmackDown by stating that both Naomi and Natalya need to be scared of her cashing in on them. She also states that both Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss should be glad that she isn’t on the same brand as them, as she could easily cash in during their match. Feisty words – but will she live up to it tonight? Well, she does sport new ring gear – so who knows?

Before the match, Natalya states that despite how much she “respects” Naomi, it’s “not her time anymore”. And as the self proclaimed “Glow Stopper” (no, seriously) she’s going to end her reign.

Our first match of the night is the SmackDown Women’s championship contest between Natalya and the champ, Naomi!

The match is intense straight away, with hot strikes and a quick back-and-forth. Natalya enforces some dominance, but Naomi is quick to counter and lead.

Some highlights include Natalya reversing the Slay-o-mission into the Sharpshooter, a Nattie-by-Nature turned into a kick to the face, and Naomi’s slam from the top rope.

At one point we see Neidhart insert the Sharpshooter, causing the champ to fight for freedom. And although Naomi gets what she wants, her failed Split-Legged Moonsault that follows is turned into the Sharpshooter, and she taps for forgiveness. All hail the new SmackDown Women’s champion, Natalya! The Queen of Black Harts snatches the title from the referee and boasts to the crowd – almost as if she knew it was going to happen and never doubted herself.

So no Carmella cash in? Okay then!

After her victory, Natalya is introduced backstage by Dasha Fuentes as the “SmackDown Women’s champion”. Neidhart, laughing in victory, forces Fuentes to repeat the phrase – again, and again. Natalya said that it was “time for a change” as Naomi “disrespected [the] championship.” She boasts about how by tomorrow the title will change as “glow time is over.” Strong words.

Onto the next match!

Earlier on in the night Alexa talks to WWE.com and insists that it’s going to do whatever she has to do to walk out as champion. But how is she going to get there? Well, she’s refusing to let us know.

Before the match, Sasha is confronted by Bayley, the woman that was supposed to be facing Bliss tonight. Regardless, her friend gives her well wishes and Sasha is on her way.

Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks, both of whom are looking flawless as ever, make their way to the ring and immediately grab each other once the bell rings. The fight is fierce – and it’s only just started!

Some highlights include Bliss’ Insult to Injury from the middle rope, the pulling off the outside apron that causes Banks to fall, as well as Sasha’s reversals into the Bank Statement (as well as many more).

The match comes to a close however as Banks puts in a Bank Statement – something she attempts to do throughout the match – but this time, Little Miss Bliss is forced to tap out! Four time champion!

And still, no Carmella. Guess she’ll do it another day!

Banks discusses her win backstage and ponders on whether she’s happy about being a four time champion, defeating the curse of winning a title on a pay-per-view, or ending the curse of winning a match in the Barclays centre. But she did it all! She says that it’s “crazy” how opportunities work as it was supposed to be Bayley facing Bliss. But Sasha states that she did it… “for us.”

On the Kickoff Show, Maryse accompanied The Miz and The Miztourage to a victory against The Hardy Boyz and Jason Jordan.

Thoughts: The first match is wonderful. Naomi and Natalya have brilliant chemistry and this match proved it. The psychology, the characters, the moves – and the (lack of a) build up all played a vital role in making the match what it was.

Natalya managed to be the best heel she’s ever been here. From the start all the way to the finish, she really rocked it. She held her own, constantly belittled Naomi, and even after winning her first championship since 2010, managed to stay in character and look down at a tearful Naomi. This is the best she’s ever been, and it seems that things are looking up from here.

Naomi also played her role well too. She isn’t quite an underdog anymore, she’s a leader. But she also had some feisty competition. She constantly impressed with big moves but also allowed Natalya to look like an actual threat. And the tears at the end – real or not – were the icing on the cake. Her passion and drive was extremely clear, and this came through as her greatest match.

With Naomi’s reign feeling as though it had so much more to offer, it’s far from a shame that the woman lost her title at SummerSlam. In fact, this was the perfect time and place for it.

Title reigns are a great way for a talent to showcase what they can do. When one is holding a title, they’re the face of the division. And as Naomi has been around for so long, this reign was ever so important. Although Naomi’s reign has been entertaining, we don’t want it to become sour for lasting too long. We needed the reign to remain fresh. Naomi is a brilliant competitor, and she will definitely have more and more reigns to come. If everything is put into one of those reigns, then the rest won’t feel as special. And if we contemplate the fact that Naomi is the first woman to win the championship at Wrestlemania, first to defend it at SummerSlam, has the longest reign, is the first black woman to hold the championship and has been the title holder twice, it was a pretty decent run. And she is bound to take back what’s hers – or maybe even have a run with the RAW version?

Alexa and Sasha also killed it. It is odd that the face got the boos whilst the heel got the cheers, but they both got a reaction, and that’s all that matters. The match itself was great. It had the aggression, Alexa managed to lead her final match as champion, and both women came out looking fantastic. But is it the right time to put the belt on Banks? Probably so.

The boos that Sasha got were a huge indication that fans aren’t all that into her anymore. And the obvious guess would be because of her constant pushes. So what do we do with an issue like this? Well, a heel turn would be perfect. After not only taking her best friend’s slot at the second biggest pay-per-view of the year, but also taking the title, it’s gotta sting a little for the Hugger. And with the Fallout video taken into account, Sasha may be feeling a little cocky here. She made the champ tap and she stole a SummerSlam title match at the last minute – it all makes sense. And it’ll be the perfect way to rebuild both Banks and Bayley the way they deserve.

The formula for both matches was pretty weird here, because they felt really similar. It wasn’t in the way of the heel dominating whilst the face picks up a quick win. It felt as though the moves were the same, except tailored to the women’s specific manoeuvres. We had the submission specialists aiming to lock in their submissions – and whilst it worked, their opponents constantly got out of it. But in the end, they both won via that same move. It’s not a huge issue, but as the only two women’s matches on the show, it would’ve been appreciated had there been two completely different stories in the matches.

Overall, the night was great for the women. Both matches were solid and they were some of the best of the night.

  • Michael Burmy

Let’s hope so, Abir…thank you for the encouragement.

After all, how did Naitch (get well soon) become a 16-time World Champion? By losing it 15 times…hopefully Nao’s future is indeed as bright as you say. While I want to trust it will be, I remember her saying that two years from now she’s not even gonna be in the business…but time will tell (Mattel better get crackin’ on these glow belts!)

  • Mahleek Brown

Has anyone noticed that the title is changing hands in the same order as the eliminations from the inaugural SDL women’s championship match at backlash. Becky won the belt. She lost the belt to the first woman eliminated, Alexa Bliss. Then bliss lost the belt to the woman who eliminated her, Naomi. Now, Naomi lost the belt to the woman who eliminated her, Natalya. Sooo Nattie is gonna lose to Nikki Bella and Carmella will cash in on Nikki.

    • #BrieForPeace ?

TBH an idea, wow imagine Carmella ending Nikki’s reign sparkling their iconic feud! I’m here for it!

      • NoWayHoeSay

Carmella has 11 months to do so

    • willh
    • willh

And now that you say, it makes sense! Nattie and Nikki have unfinished business so it’d be the perfect segway! And then Nikki and Carmella could feud! OMFG! You’re smart as fuck for noticing this

      • Don ?

It’s spelled ‘segue’. I used to misspell it all the time until an old professor corrected me on it. ?

        • willh

Lol, thanks. And i’m just starting college too. Don’t want my professors thinking i’m a dumbass… LMFAO

          • Don ?

No problem. Good luck with school!

    • George

      holy shit you’re right!!!

    • A One of a Kind Collectible

Omg whaaattt!!! I kinda expect Nikki to end Nattie’s reign but now I hope this happens!

    • George

Carmella randomly rollup Nikki to eliminate her, in dept makes me thing that Nikki is going to lose the title right after she wins it

      • Mahleek Brown

I had the same exact thought!

      • Jaded

Nikki won’t be back for a while

        • George

that means Nattie is gonna keep that title for a while then great

          • SashaBella

I doubt it SD is the land of opportunity but I see this reign lasting as long as her Divas title reign unfortunately

    • Miguel

Nikki Bella is doing dancing with the stars…
Don’t see her coming back until 2018. We still have 4 months and Nattie won’t be having a super long reing as well. I see another face winning like Becky and then Carmella will cash in on her.

      • Mahleek Brown

Even if we rule out the possibility of Nikki winning, Carmella will be the next title holder. She (Carmella) was the main catalyst behind Natalya and Nikki’s beef. I believe Natalya never got her hands on Carmella for being, and correct me if I’m wrong, a “Staten Island snitch”. I feel like people complain about lack of story but don’t realize that these women are in stories. however, WWE does fail to present these stories well.

        • Miguel

Well Nattie tossed the hell out of Carmella in one of those segments with Nikki. I do agree that when you look back its all a story but weekly can be a mess. There are some forgettable things that happen and it makes hard to connect things.
Nattie & Carmella are both heels and since the cash in didn’t took place at SS, I’m expecting it to happen later when the championship changes hands. The Queen of Black hearts won’t play poor champion that losses unfairly. Carmella will cash out on a face superstar like Becky who is also the perfect folk for her to embark into a complete feud.

  • #BrieForPeace ?

Here’s my honest review upon second watch:

While both matches had the outcome that I wanted ( and i’m super damn happy for Nattie queen of memes) I dare to say that both were very underwhelming. It felt like they got told ” go out there get the job done that’s it” and there was no real sentiment behind their victories other than personal feelings of fans that have followed the workers for a long time. Both endings were so lackluster, there was no climax and it all felt rushed in a way. All in all there was no substance to either victory because neither had a story and neither was accompanied by a great match worth the importance of the finish.

I feel like WWE should really stop this thing of trying to fit everyone in the card for a 4 hour show and let the card breathe because I feel like it’s matches like this that get affected because they’re rushed and get lost on the shuffle of other important events. Also considering that both had 0 to none history it all contributed to what otherwise would’ve been two huge closing the cycle type of victories.

Alexa Bliss’s work is so safe in the negative sense. She stays in her comfort zone and doesn’t leave it for nothing. She’s regressed imho and her move-set is very very lackluster which hurts her overall performance. Sasha I feel like works full throttle all the time in matches and I would like to see something different from her even though she always manages to make her opponent look like a million bucks. Naomi to me just needs to work her charisma her mannerisms and her flow between moves because it still seems flashy and very bland especially her facial expressions while delivering and receiving moves. She said she wanted to have that carreer defining matches but imho it wasn’t this one. Natalya just needs an overhaul in everything from character to move-set.

All in all the matches were very solid but never really climaxed so the ending would be much more powerful and memorable.

  • Shan

I’m torn. I love Naomi as champ and wanted her to retain since I’m a fan, but I’m happy Nattie won because I’m a fan. Sigh.

    • Jaded

She will win it back pretty soon, I don’t know why I keep getting that feeling

      • Dionte Brown

Even if she doesn’t I’m still happy for what she has accomplished.

        • Shan

I won’t say that. She deserves more than just one lackluster reign where her biggest feud was apparently Lana. I’m glad for all she’s accomplished but man, I just know they could do more with her. I also want her or Jon to backslap Ellsworth so there’s that to look forward to. It’s the same with Nattie, she had this championship reign coming every since.

      • Shan

        I hope so.

  • Neither matches were that special compared to Ember vs Asuka, but I liked Naomi vs Nattie more.

Sasha’s win didn’t feel special at all. To me she’s the same with or without the title, while someone like Nattie stands out with that extra help of the title. So even though Sasha deserves this title reign, hopefully she’ll lose soon to someone like Emma, who will benefit from it.

    • Booking 101

I was just saying that. Ember vs Asuka just overshadowed everything. Even involuntary, we could not stop comparing the SS with their match.

    • PYM #TakeoverSmackdown

Right Sasha is fine with or without the title

  • Hoooshi

I think the SD women’s match was better. Naomi and Nattie have worked together longer and their chemistry is great. It almost made for the lack of storytelling. Almost. Nattie is an okay heel, she is not Kevin Owens level of great, but she isn’t bad either. Her constantly telling the referee to do his job was annoying, she needs to tone it down a bit. Now we can only hope she will pull an Asuka and let her ring work speak for itself.

As for the Raw match… It felt flat. The one thing that never left my mind during the match was “damn, Sasha is going so soft into these moves wtf”. Letting Alexa take the lead was a mistake, she works best as an opportunist who only hits moves when it’s better for her. And she needs a submission finisher, like, right now. The reason why AJ Lee worked so well as a champion despite her size was because she had a good submission move. Now PLEASE Raw, give us new storylines.

Side note: The crowd was so dead for both matches, it was sad.

  • Mr. What

I’m not trying be negative people so bare with me. These matches belong on TV not big pay per view of the year. Everybody saying Natalya deserve a run and I’m try make sense with booking. I just CAN’T! WWE ruin something good with Naomi. She was getting over and she coming into her own. WWE stomp it. You people think Naomi don’t deserve this. It was wrong time to do a title change when they was building something good. Nope! They ruin it. After Wrestlemania she regulated to “not being in the important women’s matches” and “beating Lana a lot.”

    • KellyAJNaomi#Slay

I personally love Naomi but creative did nothing with her reign and her losing the title is actually a blessing she won’t go stale holding it for long and now more ppl are on her side after her emotional display after the match I think the best thing that can happen is Naomi wins it back just for Carmella to immediately cash in and win it

  • Mr. What
    • Kvngbalor

Prob was a nod to Charlotte who is going through so much with her dad at the moment

    • PYM #TakeoverSmackdown

Ikr.. and tbh I wasn’t feeling it either. She should stick to her coats.

  • Match of Year Maker

I don’t care whatever you guys say, finally two real wrestlers are champions, in one side Nattie as the veteran Smackdown Women’s Champion, and the other side Sasha as the greatest performer of all time and the total package RAW Women’s Champion. I’m just relaxed and finally I can sleep good. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/2ac762833d8e34830076522e610e81b77b22d228b03ca4a1668ddbdd45f48dd4.gif

    • Michael Burmy

“Finally two real wrestlers are champions?”

Laddie…don’t you think you should…rephrase that? (They don’t call us the NaoMOB for nothing)

      • Match of Year Maker

I mean TWO REAL WRESTLERS AT THE SAME TIME, Naomi was the champ as the same time as Alexa was, soooo… Naomi was the real wrestler champ but Alexa wasn’t…

        • Michael Burmy

          OK…sorry about that. Carry on…

        • wwepassion

Naomi real wrestler? LOL good one

          • SashaBella

Naomi is a real wrestler what’s so funny about that?

          • wwepassion

lol she’s an athlete not a real wrestler. Nattie is a real wrestler.

          • #SimplyJaomi!# 02/12/17

Wrestlers are athletes dumb ass bitch lmaoo

          • wwepassion

You have it backwards dumb fuck, she is an athlete not a real wrestler. There is a difference but you obviously don’t get it stupid hoe.

          • #SimplyJaomi!# 02/12/17

No backwards ish about it bby. Wrestlers are athletes and athletes can be wrestlers it works both ways and I hope you bitch ass will take off those delusion glasses and see that. Stay pressed about Naomi :)

          • wwepassion

Actually just because you are an athlete doesn’t mean you can wrestle you dumbass.

          • #SimplyJaomi!# 02/12/17

If you could actually comprehend you’d realise that I didn’t say that dumbass bitch

          • #SimplyJaomi!# 02/12/17

You really are a dumb bitch, huh?

          • wwepassion

            Good one lol

        • Wicked Bliss

What do you think Alexa’s doing? dancing ballet?

        • CuCelchy

          Lol at this bias shit.

  • Both matches were underwhelming and suffered from a lack of heat and the poor response from the crowd. Both title wins should’ve been bigger deals.

Naomi and Natalya managed to have a good enough match, if nothing special. It’s a shame that Naomi’s reign never really kicked off and that she couldn’t break the cycle of not-very-memorable title holders. I’m still waiting for THAT feud that will elevate the championship. They have the talent.

Alexa vs Sasha didn’t do it for me. It was pretty bad. Having Alexa control most of the match was a strange move. I’m just glad the championship is back on Sasha’s waist.

    • It’s a shame that the title is almost one year old and we still haven’t had “that feud”. Really thought it would be Naomi vs Charlotte.

      • Naomi vs Charlotte could have brought it. Hell, almost anyone on that roster (except Lana, Tamina and Carmella) could have brought it. But it felt more like a “ok, it’s ya turn now” kind of situation. Typical SD I’d say.

  • willh

I stan Naomi but I’m happy for Nattie. She’s deserving of this.
As for Sasha and Alexa, they’re both getting stale in my eyes. Raw is in need of a total facelift. I dont wanna see Sasha, Alexa or Bayley anywhere in the title pic. Give me Nia or Emma or Mickie or Alicia. SHAKE IT UP!! As a matter of fact, how ’bout Raw snatch my wig and give Paige or Summer Rae the title!!!! THAT, would make me start watching again. FACTS

  • A One of a Kind Collectible

I loved Nattie post match interview. I think it would be a smart character move for her. To try and be a women who is “preserving the in integrity” of women’s wrestling. It would kinda be like a moder day Right to Censor

    • Dionte Brown

That would be amazing actually. RTC was so damn good.

  • KellyAJNaomi#Slay

No matter the outcome both matches delivered and I’m proud of all 4 women I can’t wait to see what’s next I just hope Sasha and Natti get some good stories

  • wwepassion

Both matches were eh, but the best thing is that Naomi is no longer champ, Natties gets her deserved title win, HW being booed and proof Alexa is in fact more over than them so people here can stop acting like she isn’t. I hope Nattie feuds with someone who is a star and not Naomi TBH.

    • lainey

I swear you people and your naomi hate is so obvious. Smh that girl is just as good as the other women and gives her all. I swear she could walk on water and u people would shit on her

      • wwepassion

I don’t have to like her so get a life

        You mad?

        • CuCelchy

          You bored?

  • conan_kun

Sasha finally gets redemption at Brooklyn after she lost NXT women title and Raw women title at Brooklyn last 2 years. By the way, if Bayley doesn’t injure, this won’t happen. Hope Sasha can have decent title run but I feel that they gonna do Sasha vs Alexa in hot potato title switch in the next few months as they don’t even bother to build up Emma, unless they let Nia hold the title but it gonna be the disaster.

Either Naomi wins back shortly, Charlotte or Becky wins from Natalya then gets cash in by Carmella right away. If Asuka moves to Smackdown, she may win from Natalya then Carmella fails her cash in, thus Asuka beat the champ and Miss MITB in one night. By the way, Charlotte missed her first PPV since moving to main roster.

  • Crazy. #RIPMae

Nattie seems so happy that she’s finally given an opportunity to shine at the top of the division. I’m proud of her. It’s been a long time coming! Her vs Naomi was actually decent but the crowd not reacting ruined it.

Alexa vs Sasha.. meh. Alexa did good when in control but I don’t know, it felt dry for a SummerSlam match especially when we’ve been seeing fire matches on RAW lately.

Anyways, RAW related, I am screaming at Mickie shading Alexa’s promo tonight. ??? https://twitter.com/mickiejames/status/899818980948496385

  • Crazy. #RIPMae

I’m so happy for Sasha. Hopefully WWE doesn’t ruin it. Let OUR girl shine like the star she is! I’m shaking Sasha better hold title for a long time for her fourth run with the title or else.

  • DayOneISH!

Where’s the Takeover review because those girls stole the whole show this weekend!!! You better put some respect on their names!!!

    • conan_kun
      • DayOneISH!

I didn’t see it on the main page so thanks for this!!

    • Booking 101

Shades of Sasha vs Bayley two years ago. Second time since Summerslam weekend is in Brooklyn that the girls stole the weekend. For me, Asuka vs Ember is currently sitting has the third best match this year

  • DayOneISH!

“The boos that Sasha got were a huge indication that fans aren’t all that into her anymore. And the obvious guess would be because of her constant pushes. So what do we do with an issue like this?”

The boos Sasha got has nothing to do with the fans not interested in her anymore. The boos she got had to do with sports.Boston Red Sox are taking on the New York Yankees in a 3 games series and Boston defeated the New York Yankees so far.

    • Jo9834

Thats exactly right, her promo tonight confirmed that, when she said ‘even though i’m from Boston’…she got huge heat.

I am convinced fans are purposely turning on certain wrestlers to stick it to creative and the higher ups, especially in cities where there are ‘smart’ crowds. I don’t think anyone legitimately hates Bayley but her booking has lead the crowd to hate seeing her on screen due to the crap material she is given…

      • DayOneISH!

I agree they don’t know how to book these characters.

    • Kvngbalor

Constant pushes that go nowhere short reigns and loses every big match and ppv this write up was hilarious love how the writers try to take their own personal feelings and create this narrative for others to latch on to and run with it

      • Jo9834

I agree, I think it goes beyond writing though, because how on earth can NXT pull off such a great event, and have a hot crowd when Summerslam the night after was lukewarm until the Main Event….Vince needs to step down.

    • wwepassion

Stop making excuses, they booed her because they are tired of her and Bayley. Bayley isn’t from Boston and Sasha has always been cheered there.

    • -V

      them Bayley boos tho ?

  • KellyAJNaomi#Slay

I think the best thing that should happen is Natalya and Naomi have a few at least 2 matches for the titles at PPV’s then Naomi finally wins it but Carmella cashes in wins then in the rematch Ellsworth cheats Carmella wins then Charlotte wins the title at WM Naomi turns heel and yea

  • Was a good PPV, finally we have Nattie as WWE SD Live! Women’s Champion, I couldn’t be more excited about that news. In the other hand Sasha Vs Bliss was kind of slow and a bit sloppy, compared with Nattie Vs Naomi, they gave us one hell of a match.

  • Booking 101

Well there is a lot to talk about. Starting with the fact that both matches actually got some decent time. I was very worried they wouldn’t get enough but really happy they did.

Starting with the SD women’s title match, it was a good match. Some very nice moments despite the fact that I think they slowed it down for a little longer than it should. But both women looked really nice. But I most say that I like Nattie’s ring work as a face more than I like has a heel. Not that she is bad, the words “Natalya” and “bad in the ring” will never belon in the same sentence but I do prefer is face work in the ring. It really comes down to a matter of preference. This is also one of Naomi’s best matches. See what happens when you give her some time and a good opponent? What hurt this match was the lack of heat that it had, the build up was so bad that it hurt this match big time and it didn’t truly shined like it could. But I’m hoping this rivalry continues and they have more time and more spotlight on the next SD PPV to kill it.

I was really surprised that Nattie won. Didn’t honestly expected that and while I wish it was the result of a much better feud, I was just so happy for Nattie. The girl has given everything to the company and the fans. Yeah she is not a very good mic worker but that passion she shows everytime she steps in that ring is amazing and the pride she takes on her performances and in the divison is also amazing. She is long overdue this and I hope they give her a platform to shine. She deserves everything good. Also, Naomi those tears had me touched. You sold that moment beautifully, great job.

Onto the Raw match… While I’m happy that Sasha won the title, the match itself and the lack of heat just turned what could have been a great moment into a meh moment. The match was okay, much worse than their GBOF match. If the match had gotten more even, it would have been way better. Alexa dominating almost the entire match wasn’t a good decision. She is not experienced enough to carry a match like this and it showed. She did have some good moments but nothing to write home about. This is easily Sasha’s worst big championship match and it wasn’t a particularly amazing showing for Alexa as well. Both girl have done better.

Bottom line, the lack of heat from both feuds and the fact they had the shadow of Asuka and Ember from the previous night, which might I add was the best match of this weekend, hurt the matches. Expect better from next encounters from both pairs.

I do want to say that our current champions are Sasha, Asuka and Natalya. The amount of talent in that sentence is absolutely insane :D

  • Both matches were kinda meh to me. I am just happy Sasha finally won the title. Not sure how I feel about Nattie win but congrats to her. I just wish nattie had a more solid character and fresher perspective on her matches when she won the title. Maybe those two things will come soon. I really hate how SDL title always seem to change hands in short/random/one-sided feuds

The SD match was obvs better but I liked both a lot.
SD match had the bigger spots and more of a shocking element.
One of Naomi’s best matches IMO.
I am so happy for queen Nattie but Naomi’s reign should’ve/could’ve went on a bit longer bc from winning the title in her hometown at mania, after that it was pretty much trash and overshadowed.
I hope Nattie’s reign ain’t that long tho bc we’ve seen her face Becky Tamina Charlotte & Naomi (soon) PLENTY & Carmella & Lana suck.
RAW’s match got slow at some points but I think it felt that way because of the lack of crowd investment. Easily Alexa’s best PERFORMANCE (not match) on the MR. Happy Sasha won so most of y’all can shut up.

  • CuCelchy

Y’all are really spoiled if you think these are bad matches.

    • Organization XIII

& they have no reason to be spoiled tbh

  • CuCelchy

Both matches truly suffered from a lack of story and that made them suffer even more from a lack of crowd investment.

Nattie vs Naomi was one of Naomi’s best performances and best women’s match of the night. Her selling was on point most of the match and Nattie did good in setting up those spots. I loved the catapult into the turnbuckle spot. Naomi sold that really well. Happy Nattie won first as well. Interested to see where Smackdown is heading I have a feeling Carmella might cash in this Tuesday but we’ll see.

On to Sasha vs Alexa. It wasn’t a bad match but it wasn’t a great match. There weren’t too many spots and the match was kind of short. The best part of the match to me was when Alexa did that knee cartwheel move off the top rope. I really wanted Alexa to retain and I’m a little bummed she didn’t but I’m excited in a way to see the title picture change with Sasha as champion.

Naomi vs Nattie was pretty decent! I would have liked more intensity, stiffness and near Falls! Naomi looked good, I wish she would actually have a clear finishing move and be more aggressive.Natalya is a great wrestler but she’s annoying when she speaks! She looked dumb telling a dead crowd to “Shut Up ” at one moment! Pure cringe! They really should’ve had Charlotte vs Naomi instead! That would have tore the house down!
Alexa vs Sasha was bad! Alexa should not be controlling a match ever and she has regressed so much from her NXT days! She is very limited and was repeating the same moves in the match! Thank goodness she lost the belt and hope they don’t put it back on her until she gets her act together! I get it she’s very cute, blonde, beautiful and appeals to the majority of WWE fans but damn she’s overrated and mediocre in the ring! I’ve had enough of WWE highlighting her like she’s this great ring worker and just incredible on the mic! Don’t believe the hype!

    • GOD STRATUS•

      Fake news lol

  • I’m sooo happy that Nattie won that title, but at the same time very sad for Nao who deserved a more memorable reign. And I think it’s a good thing that Carmella didn’t cash in because it keeps her hype alive for a bit longer ! ( Although she could’ve at least come out to tease )

I liked both matches but Nattie vs Naomi was the better match of the night. Crowd involvement was weak but I believe that was due to lack of investment since neither match had a storybuild up. RAW’s is understandable since Bayley got injured but they also could’ve cut the triple threat matches out & just went with Sasha off rip but I digress.

I foresee Nattie & Naomi having at least 2 more matches for the title & Alexa vs Sasha will probably culminate at No Mercy. I don’t see them continuing a feud between them unless Alexa wins back the title

  • 3???????

My issues with Natalya is that her promos come off so elementary school . & she’s way too safe in the ring . Meaning a lot of her moves either don’t connect fully and it makes it looks very weak. Example look at the gif DD posted of her kickin kickin naomi ?????

  • 3???????

& Sasha needs to go back to red hair ?????

SS was nice, I got a bit bored with RAW’s Women’s Championship match because Alexa’s offense is very much whooping her opponents ass. Tons of elbows, kicks but little psychology on them. Alexa should be focusing on an area and use the ring as a weapon. This could have worked better than just whopping Alexa for the longest time. Then Sasha’s comeback was not as memorable, she didn’t even use all the moves (it made sense because she was beat down the whole match) and the way too many attemps for the Bank Statement made the end predicatable.

SmackDown in the other hand was more dynamic. Naomi was a bag of tricks with ton of stuns and Natalya was her usual self but better. Nattie had several attemps to pull the sharpshooter but it was still suprising to see her won because Naomi got an amazing offense during the match. I felt so sad that my girl Naomi lost the belt but it was the right time. She could re-gain her belt later and maybe on RAW. I’m wishing WWE keeps her on SD, I really hate how RAW books women.

    • Scarlet Letter

Maybe they want her on Raw to spice up the booking

      • Miguel

Meh, they did the same with Alexa and while her run has been good. The show still shitty.

  • NoWayHoeSay

Naomi to Raw, Bayley and Emma to Smackdown, Dana release

    • Michelle

      Damn release Dana!?

      • NoWayHoeSay

Dana is never gonna achieve anything same as Emma really so why not ship them out and bring in new girls who have established a fan base ideally ember, Nikki, asuka, I came see peyton and billie getting crickets tbh

        • Michelle

I agree with you but I really love Peyton!

          • NoWayHoeSay

            I love Billie!

  • No shade Diva-Dirt, but of all the spot-worthy moments from Naomi vs Natalya, you choose THIS??

  • -V

Nattie vs Naomi was the better match for me – both of them had really good moves (the blockbuster from the stairs & then the ring post shot) while Sasha vs Alexa seemed a bit sloppy & not that interesting. Good to see both titles change hands after two long reigns.

  • I love Sasha, Nattie and Naomi, but I wasn’t really in love with either of their matches. Sasha’s seemed DOA, there was no fire and the crowd just deflated the whole thing for me, and I wish that the pacing for Naomi and Nattie was better, because it was the better match of the two and very technically sound and showed the different styles off pretty well. I hear Naomi is in trouble because she told JBL she had something special for SummerSlam?
