Anthem reportedly looking to sell GFW Impact as company is ‘hemorrhaging funds’

Yesterday, Impact Wrestling announced that Jeff Jarrett “was taking an indefinite leave of absence from his position as Chief Creative Officer to focus on personal matters.” PWInsider later added Ed Nordholm, an Anthem executive, made the decision to send Jeff Jarrett on leave due to his “erratic behavior” and issues between the two.

The site also added that the “GFW/Anthem merger” was “nowhere near as completed” as it was previously announced. So, if Jarrett does not return, it’s entirely possible the GFW letters will fade away from Impact Wrestling.

Sports Illustrated is now reporting that Anthem, who purchased TNA Impact Wrestling earlier this year, is ready to withdraw itself from the wrestling industry and sell GFW/Impact citing that the wrestling company is “hemorrhaging funds”. Anthem even needed to gut the Fight Network in order to finance GFW/Impact.

The report lists the WWE, Ring Of Honor and former TNA investor Billy Corgan as potential suitors for Impact Wrestling. With Jeff Jarrett still owning the name of “Global Force Wrestling”, Anthem would only be selling “Impact Wrestling”.

What are your thoughts on these latest rumors from GFW Impact Wrestling?
