This afternoon PWInsider Elite is reporting that Paige, who recently suffered a stinger at a house show, is reportedly done with in ring competition for WWE.

According to PWInsider, “2016 into 2017 was one issue after another for WWE star Paige. 2017 into 2018 was supposed to be her major comeback to WWE, her redemption. Inside the ring, sadly, that will not be the case.

In a situation described as similar to WWE Hall of Famer Adam “Edge” Copeland‘s medical disqualification from the ring, WWE star Paige (Saraya-Jade Bevis, 25 years old) was informed this week that she will not be cleared to return to the ring after her most recent in-ring injury, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources. It is believed Paige was given the news at the Raw taping this past Monday. We have been told by multiple sources she is “done” as an in-ring wrestler.

During a six woman tag team bout on 12/28/17 at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island, Paige had her back to Sasha Banks, who was behind her against the turnbuckles. Banks used the ropes to pull herself up and kicked with both legs to Paige’s back. Paige, obviously not ready for the bump, went down face first. She tried to get up but could not get her legs under her, finally did get up and turned to grab Banks, immediately falling down again and rolling over to her back, where she stayed. The referee checked on her and called for the bell. She was examined by WWE medical personnel and a stretcher was brought to ringside to transport her back to the locker room. After several minutes, Paige walked out under her own power.

It was believed at the time that Paige had suffered a stinger, leading to her losing feeling in her extremities. Given her previous neck surgery, WWE pulled her from the ring and set up further testing that led to this week’s decision.

Paige had been announced for the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match on 1/28 in Philadelphia after she was injured, but we are told that was before medical testing led to the determination that she was to be pulled from performing as an in-ring competitor. She will be replaced in the match and all signs are that she will relegated to a non-physical role for the company going forward. One would assume the company will devise a way to write her out of the Rumble match without any physicality, similar to how Daniel Bryan is not allowed to be involved in anything physical in his current role as Smackdown General Manager.”

PWInsider reports that “While Paige will not be allowed to wrestle going forward by the company, we are told that she is extremely well liked by management, so one would think she would remain with the company in some capacity. She was featured on reality series Total Divas, so that’s a possible vehicle for her, as are WWE Studios feature films. It’s also possible the company could tap her to Coach in the NXT system or attempt to transition her into another on camera role.”

UPDATE: Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet also confirmed the reports are seemingly true.

According to Satin, “PWInsider was first to report the news this afternoon and we’ve confirmed the information to be accurate with multiple sources.”

However, neither WWE nor Paige have confirmed this news yet. In fact, Paige just posted this today on her Instagram:

The comeback is always stronger than the setback ❤️ @wwe

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKK

This is the worst news ever. Pls don’t let this be true and she shows up at the Rumble as #30 and wins. ? This is so sad. I was really looking forward to her work this year with Absolution.

    • Justin Bebier

Even if somehow she gets cleared they won’t have her win because now they won’t trust her to stay healthy.

  • ssilva872

    This is SO sad!

  • Cilla

    Well, this sucks.

  • Jaded

This is so sad, I’m literally in tears, how do you train your whole life to retire at 25.

    • Justin Bebier

“how do you train your whole life”

      That’s how.

  • Jo9834

Heartbroken and so sad right now, Paige has been through so much and if this is indeed true, I really hope the WWE gives her the Daniel Bryan treatment and allows her to remain on TV as a character.

I know people have their opinions on her , but at 25 she had such a bright future ahead of her. My heart goes out to Paige if it is true.

  • Jaded

I feel so sorry for every wrong thing I’ve said about Paige. I’ve always felt she was overrated, arrogant and complacent, but after everything she’s been through, I wanted her to win badly, why is this happening!
    I feel so sad.

  • Omar Zaal

    Why did I wake up?

    ???

    • ssilva872

I know sometimes it is best to sleep the day away if they are going to be horrible ones like this. ?

      • Omar Zaal

        There is hope.

She can bring in a new leader (her mom) or a former superstar someone who’s popular and she can be just a manager.

    • Jaded

Go back to sleep and pretend it’s a nightmare

      • Omar Zaal

        Thank God for weed.

  • Jaded

I hope sasha is not punished for this, accidents happen in wrestling always. And Paige’s injury was a ticking time bomb, if it wasn’t sasha, it could have been anyone else.

    • You were not saying this when Nia injured Bayley last year. Love how the tune changes once it’s someone else.

      • Jaded

Grow up and get over yourself, this is about the end of someone’s career.

          • Jaded

After fixing your hair, fix your growth hormone too,cos you certainly have a lot of growing up to do .
People might make jokes and even insinuate things when injuries are light and not threatening but career ending injuries are nothing to be joked with, except the person lacks any shred of sensitivity.
Nia dropped Charlotte multiple times on her head, injured a 100 percent healthy bayley, how do you even compare that to Sasha’s kick to a person who’s been out for seventeen months with a head injury.

          • Charlotte was never injured and Bayley was out for a month. Are we going to compare that to someone almost ending a person’s career after a long injury?

I hope what you said refers to everyone and once again not just a few, because that is the risk they all have to deal with. They know it too.

          • Jaded

I’m asking you not to bring up what I said about Nia in this scenario, if bayley was forced to retire, I would never have said that

          • You were not joking about it, but either way I’m here to see different opinions because injuries are always a serious matter.

          • Jaded

I was joking about it, you are not in my head, you don’t read my mind

          • Then that’s even worse.

          • Jaded

            Says who?
            You?
Give it a rest, with your self righteous attitude, no one’s buying it.
You literally Stan for the bellas who ended a lot of women’s career in and outside the ring.

          • #FlairfortheGold

I got you Boris. I posted their response to Nia injuring Bayley

          • #FlairfortheGold
          • C Mack

Sasha’s hurt Alexa, Emma, and now Paige. If anything, they’ll tone her down like they did Seth Rollins when he hurt Sting, Cena, etc. Sasha may be encouraged to work less stiff and to be more aware of her opponents’ positioning, prior injuries, etc.

Things happen, but if Paige is really done, I’ll bet Sasha feels slightly guilty.

Edit: Don’t think I meant fo reply to you Jaded. My bad.

          • eastcoast cam

tonight on raw she looked really turned down. the punches she was throwing at sonya looked very weak. this is coming from a sasha fan. but i totally noticed that about her.

          • C Mack

Definitely. We’ll see what happens. I love Sasha in the ring

          • Exotic

            Give it up.

      • Looking Glass

Or when Aksana injured Naomi’s eye #JusticeForAksana XD

      • Exotic

        LMAO

      • Bliss = Goddess

Also blamed Alexa for Naomi injury when it wasn’t Alexa fault

        • ?Naomi?

Sorry but Alexa should have stayed down. Naomi has done that move countless times with no problem. Yes that was most definitely Alexa’s fault. If Alexa needed to reposition herself she should have slid over not roll while Naomi is mid air.

          • Bliss = Goddess

If Alexa didn’t rollover again Naomi would’ve missed completely

        • Jaded

          Lol, now you’re getting delusional

          • Bliss = Goddess

            Nope I’m stating facts

          • Jaded

Sweetie, when Alexa allegedly injured Naomi, I wasn’t even very active on diva dirt, find the post and know if you’ll see my comments there .Your facts are as false as the Fraud champion you Stan for

          • Bliss = Goddess

            Lol ok

    • Cailum?

I call bullshit & this is the most biased thing I swear! You will be the first to try and tear the other women to pieces but now Sasha has ended paige’s career. “She shouldn’t be punished” & “it would have been anyway else” sorry to break it to you but Sasha is rough in the ring and if this was Alexa or another woman who you like to tear down when they so much as breathe then you would not be letting them off as lightly as you are Sasha.

      • #FlairfortheGold

Omg I was saying the exact same thing when this first came out! Lol glad I’m not the only one who sees the double standard here

    • #FlairfortheGold

Well… Sasha broke Alexa’s nose more than once, her double knees knocked Emma hard on her shoulder, and she stiffed kick Paige on the back. Are we not gonna call her safe just because she’s Sasha or are we going to do the same when other women accidentally injure someone…. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/177d74bbd49fcb7b298cffc5c86c1ac4de7259bfb83a44b7d23d7028e82466ac.png

Charlotte is stiffer than a bear ,child please

        • ?too litty?

Girl bye…. that’s why Charlotte always is a champion. She is the QUEEN, you best not come for her. She’s accomplished more than your fave.
          ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
          – 4x RAW Women’s Champion
          – 1x (current) SmackDown Live Women’s Champion
          – 1x NXT Women’s Champion
          – 1x Diva’s Champion
          – 1st ever Grand Slam Champion in the modern era
          – COMPETED AND WON the first-ever Hell In A Cell Match
          – Competed in the first ever women’s MITB match.
          – Competed in the main event of RAW more than one occasion since Trish and Lita which was 2004.
          – Competed in the Main Event of a PPV on the main roster (HIAC)
          – Competed in the main event of every major show including a PPV. (RAW, SmackDown, and HIAC.)
(I’m not even a Charlotte Stan, but no denying the girl has improved and works for everything she gets it. Oh and she doesn’t injure people….)

        • #FlairfortheGold

So who has Charlotte injured then child? I’m waiting….

        • #FlairfortheGold

I’m still waiting child… if she’s stiffer, who has she injured or almost ended?

      • funny how karma has its way of doing things
        https://media.giphy.com/media/26BRIsNGtmAGiuUda/giphy.gif

      • ?too litty?

Those 25 other people best not come in the comment section all… “DONT BLAME SASHA….” f**k off. y’all quick to jump on Nia so why not jump on Sasha? Oh my bad…. sorry your fave f’d up for the thirtieth time like yes wrestling has accidents but we she constantly injures people Emma, Alexa, Paige, etc. it gets repetitive. I’m not gonna go on
Sasha’s page and give her the hate because I’m not that kinda person. The comments are disgusting and down right horrible. I still feel however Sasha does need to make sure she’s safe when wrestling and work on not being stiff.

  • TheDawsonOne

Absolutely heartbreaking to hear this. Paige is the reason I didn’t give up on wrestling in late-2012, early-2013, and to see such a promising career be derailed so soon is absolutely devastating. My heart goes out to Paige, I hope WWE keeps her around in another role & she gets to perform for years & years to come.

    • Jaded

What becomes of Mandy and Deville?

      • ssilva872

Idk may end she could still manage them? I would think she wouldn’t be able to travel a ton if she was really injured but who knows.

        • mathew

Know Alexa Know Mandy And Sonya in NXT

      • TheDawsonOne

I hope she becomes their manager, or something like that. If not, I fear for Sonya, she doesn’t have a very high ceiling.

Mandy is well-liked by management, they have big plans for her. She’ll be fine, it might actually benefit her to go solo (perhaps with Paige being her manager). I’m not sure if Sonya will remain a well-featured player as a solo act, though I hope I’m wrong about this (because I love Sonya).

  • ssilva872

Apparently people are coming for Sasha on Instagram calling her out her name. Like really nasty things (something a Trump voter *or Trump himself* would say!)..

    • Wrestling.fan.from.France

Of course they would. Not surprised. They are just idiots, that’s all.

    • Jaded
    • Super Mateo

It can’t be any worse than anything a Trump hater would say. It’s both sides that talk like that.

    • Mykiiey

They are saying horrible things to Sasha :( wow I can’t believe the stuff I’m seeing! Especially the N word being used so much.

      • ssilva872

        It is sad..

  • I’m gonna wait for her or WWE to
(de)confirm it. Until then I’m gonna hope this isn’t true.

    • It

      It is, sadly

  • Wrestling.fan.from.France

F*ck. I’ll wait till it’s confirmed but still, that’s so sad!

    • PeppermintButler

Same, I refuse to believe this unless confirmed by WWE themselves. As I said before she has so much more to offer

      • sleeper11

It’s freaking pwinsider elite that’s all the confirmation you need.

  • ???

    ????

  • Tnn Crs

I don’t really know if PWInsider is a reliable source but IF this is true i’m speechless and completely devastated…

    • It

      It is

  • THOMAS

    im shook :(

  • Danny?

Please don’t be true. My heart is breaking for her & personally. After all she has been through I wanted to see her show everyone why she is so great.

  • MyleneCruz

Everything happens for a reason if this is confirmed than clearly with all the roadblocks she’s had this isn’t the sport for Paige and that just how all of you are gonna have to take it. There’s nothing we can do to reverse it so let’s accept it if it’s the case.

  • ???

This is sucks, I feel so pissed because she just recently returned and I had my hopes high for her to win the Raw women’s championship. I just wish her good luck no matter what her role will be, I will support her! And Paige if you are reading this, please don’t be sad you are strong and you will kill it no matter what!

  • tstumo

Oh wow. Never been the biggest Paige fan. I said “ she has her whole career ahead of her” before all the Del rio stuff etc happned. then I said “she won’t be able to come back from all that damage and drama and be in WWE’s good graces”…. I was wrong on both accounts. Since she’s been back she’s made the most out of her time and has been strong and brave to not be phased and that takes courage. You can tell she loves wrestling and it’s a shame she won’t be a part of the RR if this is indeed true. Really sad.

  • TheDawsonOne

Ryan Satin also confirmed on Twitter that Paige’s career is over, and I’d say Satin is the most trust-worthy wrestling reporter out there (kind of a backhanded compliment, considering who else is out there).

  • #RiotWithRuby

Just saying, if Sasha hadn’t given her that kick…

    • TheDawsonOne

…then someone would have given her a hip-toss, or a backdrop, or a suplex, she would have landed on her bad neck, broken it again & been paralyzed possibly!! In a sense, she kinda got off a bit lucky, that it was a minor incident that led to this decision. Had this not happened, who the hell knows what could have happened…

      • Monkey Tennis

In a different sense, nobody beyond Paige’s actual Doctors are aware what condition she was/is in. Suggesting that Sasha may have inadvertently saved Paige from life in a wheelchair is just as extreme as saying that Sasha directly caused any alleged injuries.

Basically, it’s not about what could have happened. The more important thing is that nobody apart from Paige and the WWE medical team know what actually happened.

    • Bad and Bossy

If Sasha hadn’t given her that kick, it would have been Asuka, Alexa, Charlotte or anyone else because Paige wasn’t recovered at 100%

      • #RiotWithRuby

        …K ?

      • Tina

Exactly. Sasha wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary, it’s not a secret that Paige was still banged up.

        • ?Naomi?

Hasn’t she kicked many people like that?

          • Tina

            Yes.

  • MK126

It sucks that shes being forced to retire but shes done a lot in the business (inside and outside of WWE). WWE will take care of her that’s for sure. Sadly she took a kick she wasn’t ready for but that’s no one’s fault. Not everyone heals from injuries the same way so we cant blame Sasha for something she didn’t intentionally do. It’s not like she shot on Paige especially since Paige praised Sasha for how safe she worked with her on their RAW match. Things happen and all we can do is thank Paige for her work in NXT and how she kept the Diva’s division alive before the Diva’s Revolution storyline started.

  • Jaded

Lemon or whatever you call yourself, hope you aren’t among the trolls on Sasha’s page, because that will be extremely low for you.
You can blame Sasha all you want even suggest she should sit out the royal rumble, but at the end you’ll still look the fool .
Paige knew what she signed up for and I know she’s a true professional.
Candice never went around blaming Beth, neither did Naomi blame aksana who almost made her blind, accidents happens and will always happen in wrestling.
Stop acting like Paige lost her life, she’s 25 and can be so much more even achieve greater things outside the ring.
At the end of the day you’re not paige ,I’m pretty certain she doesn’t even know you exist, so shut the hell up and stop crying more than the bereaved.

    • mathew

Blame Seth Rollin injured Sting wwe never trust sasha for the title lol

    • Jorge Hernandez Moran

I wonder if you would show the same restrain if Lana or Carmella injured Sasha like this??…and his comment was nothing but positive and love for Paige
At the end of the day you’re not Sasha, I’m pretty certain she doesn’t even know you exist, so leave this person alone, who hasnt even metioned slSasha and is just showning respect to someone he loves.

P.S It says alot about you being more worried about the backlash on Sasha then the person who might not ever wrestle again.
      ?

      • Jaded

Don’t jump into issues you know nothing about making yourself look stupid. That lemon was calling me out and insulting me when I didn’t even mention it.
I don’t even get where you came up with the fact, I’m a Sasha fan, I like Sasha like any other person but I’m not exactly her biggest fan.
If you monitored my comments ,you’d know I’ve said unpleasant things about Sasha too.
And yup Sasha knows I exist, if you go to my instagram account, you’ll see my pictures with Seth, Roman, usos and team bad, so girl bye!

      • What?

Her neck was a ticking timebomb.

  • Allyn

Wow! I can’t believe it, I refuse to believe this, how awful!!!!! And to think Sasha will forever now be known as the person who put Paige on the shelf…..let this be a lesson to all the women to be “CAREFUL” in the ring.

    • Bad and Bossy

Don’t blame it on Sasha it would have been Asuka, Alexa, Charlotte or anyone else and neither one of them would be guilty

      • Number One

Exactly, no one is to blame. Sadly, these things happen

        • Allyn

Blame and fault don’t have to be negatives sometimes They are just the facts of a situation.

      • Allyn

It’s a fact girl, Sasha kicked her, paige got hurt, now she’s done….. it is her fault. Now she can learn from this, things happen in the ring it just is what it is.

        • Bad and Bossy

Paige wasn’t recovered at 100% when WWE cleared her back in November, she still was carrying issues with her back and neck

          • Allyn

How do you know this? I thought the point of being cleared was because you are at 100%

          • Jaded

            Ask Cm punk

          • MK126

Being cleared means your body can handle the bumps and the movements that go with being in the ring. Being cleared doesn’t mean that the injury is completely gone. I mean even when Nikki got cleared she still was having problems in her neck

          • Jaded

Cesaro, Layla and others basically had to wrestle with shoulder tapes on

          • Allyn

Well then it was just a matter of time before she got hurt again then, it just so happens Sasha is the party involved.

          • Bad and Bossy

Because in all wrestling pages that was the information, Paige wasn’t recovered at 100% same as Nikki Bella, Sasha in 2016’s autumn, Cesaro, Braun, Seth or even Roman..

    • Izzy4lw

I think Sasha was careful, Paige just was not ready – a neck injury is a serious thing and it is easily aggravated; but I do agree that this will only further add ammo to the Sasha haters. But even moreso than that, it’s such a shame to see Paige’s career come to an end when it was VERY clear that she still had so much left to give and so much left to do. I sincerely hope this is not the case, however if it is it’s definitely a blow to the WWE division – While the 4HW may have been the ones to usher in the revolution in earnest, the spark was lit by Paige. without her, who knows where we’d be. She reminded everyone that a woman can draw and could be physical in the ring.

      • Bad and Bossy

        Finally someone with brain

      • Allyn

I dont know…the whole idea of Paige not being ready for the kick doesn’t sound like a careful situation, it’s not a negative to say Sasha was at fault here it’s just the unfortunate truth.

        • Izzy4lw

I just meant in terms of her neck, not so much the spot gone wrong. If her neck was fragile enough to to throw her for this kind of a scare after a fairly innocuous kick to the back, I shudder to think what would have happened had she had to take Alexa’s DDT #2, Sasha’s Bank Statement, a body block from Nia, a kick from Asuka, etc. It was only a matter of time either way, it’s just a shame that it had to happen at all.

          • Allyn

I completely agree seeing Paige’s situation it was a matter of time no doubt, sucks that Sasha was involved and it sucks even more that it had to happen of all times now ?

        • C Mack

Right! I love Sasha, but it the report made it seem like she didn’t wait until Paige was ready. Like, I’m sure you would know when she’s ready!

    • Jaded

Same way Kane put Daniel Bryan on the shelf or Seth Rollins retiring Sting?
Why can men get away with things but women can’t?

      • Allyn

I don’t think they’ve gotten away with it, at least in my eyes they haven’t. I can’t speak for others.

      • Jaded

Considering their salaries and pushes, looks like they have.

        • Allyn

Well that’s unfortunate, but I’m not talking about repercussions of the situation. I’m talking about the anecdote that will be associated with her now.

      • C Mack

Seth and Sasha are kind of neck and neck. I think they just have bad streaks. RVD used to bust people up a lot but he’s still a legend.

Seth altered his style after breaking Cena’s nose and ending Sting’s career. Sasha could do the same.

  • Diva_Fan

Really hope it isn’t true . If it is the pops girl really just can’t catch a break can she .

  • morebeefplease

If this is official, I am so heartbroken. Paige has done a lot for her age and she should feel very accomplished.

  • Bad and Bossy

I’m praying this is a nightmare, I really want Paige in the Rumble making history with the other girls. I’m such a fan of Paige since her NXT debut back in 2013 and I will be waiting for a OFFICIAL STATEMENT by her or WWE.

    • Izzy4lw

All I can think of is how she was so emotional during the announcement – she broke character and started crying because of how moved she was to be competing in the rumble – this would be heartbreaking on many levels, but mostly (for me) it would be difficult to watch a woman who was integral in changing the landscape of the women’s division in WWE have to retire from competition without seeing the fruits of her labor – she literally gave her entire being to the WWE, and for her to miss out on this milestone this close to it happening sucks.

      • Bad and Bossy

        ?????

      • Bad and Bossy

Me too!, Paige is one of the ONLY reasons I can tolerate the womens division these days. No matter how long she’s been around, every time she’s on screen it instantly elevates the action and entertainment level, she’s just THAT good.

I hope if its true, they can keep her around in either a managerial role, assistant GM or colour commentator.

I feel that retirement speech is coming on Raw, Vince should give her the Main Event slot, and the women will come out and thank her post her retirement.

      • Bad and Bossy

        ??????

  • Dreignz

Just please, I want this to be false, she went through so much, she deserves to be happy now.

  • GlowTime

This is just awful news. Poor girl, I really do hope this isn’t true ??

  • Hoooshi

I’m going to wait for an official statement from her and/or WWE, until then I’ll hope this isn’t true. She deserves to be in the Rumble with the other women making history after how much she has contributed to the sports. If it is true then I hope she will find happiness in whatever she decides to do next, she deserves it.

    • Marshy

Paige deserves to be in the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble and it will be devastating for Paige and to her fans that she won’t be participating in the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble.

  • PhiPhiBanks

If this is true then I feel devastated for Paige. After an awful year things seemed to be turning in her favour.

  • Rom

DAMN, I was so happy for her coming back and getting over with fans. I really hope this isn’t true and she can still redeem herself from last year and then she could get out of WWE or whatever. But first she needs to win the title. She deserves it.

  • PhiPhiBanks

I hate to say it but if all it took to mess up her kneck/back was a hard kick then this is the right move.

    • Harald Van der Voort

The impact she sustained looked exactly like the kind of whiplash associated with rear bumper car crashes. The video shows she did not expect that amount of force coming from that kick when she turned around, and it was a pretty stiff kick.

  • It

Sasha needs to turn heel after this and end Asuka’s streak

    • Sa’Quin Winstead

She won’t. Asuka is winning the championship and keeping her streak in 2018 is almost a lock with Paige being forced to retire (unfortunately) and Sasha ain’t getting a push anytime soon.

      • It

Sasha won’t be punished… it was anyone’s fault lol

  • Keeana Tayler

Ugh i really hope this isn’t true she’s so young and has so much potential!!! She was emotional during the rr announcement so this obviously means alot to her this is literally the worst thing
    to happen

  • Omar Zaal

    I hope it’s not true

If it’s real, then have a new leader enter at #30

I’m thinking of Saraya Knight her mom.

  • FlawlessMickie ?

I hope this is to make her rumble appearance a surprise because it’s possible we may not be getting too many.

    • Justin Bebier

That would be weak as hell, please no fake retirement bullcrap

      • FlawlessMickie ?

Well i’d rather not have her retire

        • Justin Bebier

Of course but what’s a point of a surprise when they’re going to have 10 other surprises already. It’s not going to be a storyline.

          • FlawlessMickie ?

Girl idk I don’t want her to retire so…. I’m gonna think this to keep me from screaming.

  • After all she’s been through, it is really unfair. Wrestling has been her whole life. She is so young, but has been doing this for so long… absolutely heartbreaking.

  • Kvngbalor

This breaks my heart Paige was my fav during FCW NXT and her run til Sasha came on MR it was a tie this is sad and has me shaking my head at Sasha

    • PhiPhiBanks

Why shake your head at Sasha? I highly doubt that Sasha intentionally went out there to hurt Paige.

Paige has apparently had her career ended by one stiff kick. That itself goes to show how messed up her back and kneck are and raises the question, should she have been cleared to return when she did?

It’s a blessing, in a twisted way. The women, well most of them, go all out and push themselves in the big matches, PPV/title matches etc. If one stiff kick took her out could you imagine what could have happened vs Asuka who is very stiff? Even the Rumble match could have been a disaster, thrown from the top rope, she could have took a bad landing and been seriously injured.

From what has been reported about her back and kneck injuries/problems it seemed like she was on borrowed time.

      • Kvngbalor

I didn’t read your long comment that’s my right still a fan but after seeing the vid that kick was extremely hard my opinion ain’t changing

        • PhiPhiBanks

Ignorance is bliss, as they say.

          • Kvngbalor

You would know wouldn’t you ??

          • #FlairfortheGold

You would know, seeing how you’re so delusional…

      • Harald Van der Voort

If anyone took the force of that kick they could be just as injured. It was like being kicked in the back by a mule.

        • PhiPhiBanks

Didn’t help that Paige already had ongoing issues with her back/kneck. It was like Edge all over again.
Wrestlers have a limited career as it is. Remember that Paige has been in the business for over a decade, which is actually pretty good going for a female wrestler.

          • Harald Van der Voort

Yes, but that don’t exactly change the fact that the kick was a bit too stiff. I seen the video, Paige got kicked very hard in a back spot that would cause temporary paralysis on anybody. Paige literally accordioned outward from that kick. And knowing how long it took Paige to recup from last year, Sasha should have been a bit more careful. But Sasha has been known to be stiff to people before.Had this same conversation in ’15 about this.

          • PhiPhiBanks

I am aware that the kick was stiff. However, like I said, Paige is known to have existing issues with her back/kneck so they are also a factor into the apparent severity of her injury.

The news that she has to retire because of her back/kneck suggests that there are further issues that were maybe overlooked perhaps she was brought back too soon or that perhaps she should never have been brought back in the first place.

          • Harald Van der Voort

She looked fine against Sasha on RAW back in Dec.and took many of her moves. Also looked fine taking bumps throughout all the 3 on 3s up until this point. Even if you may be right, this was a case of Sasha reacting with a bit too much lack of safety in the ring, even if someone didn’t have past neck injuries, that kick and the small distance of its delivery looked enough to cause a whiplash issue to anybody, and whiplash can put someone in a wheelchair for life.

I would just call for no more dropkicks to the back if I am the company, but that’s just me.

          • Calvin McCreary

It’s not an issue with typical dropkicks to the back, but more the way it was done. That was not a typical dropkick. That was something that clipped her body out of control, and sent her motor skills haywire.

She had a herniated disc and 3 screws put in her neck. These injuries are common in wrestling, and back in the old days you could still work through it if you took safer bumps. Nowadays WWE does not take any chances whatsoever. Jazzy Gabert was turned down a contract for it. Io Shirai was turned down even after a doctor OK’ed her for wrestling. Same with Bryan who says he can wrestle again. WWE won’t do it. They’ll do the same to anyone today when it comes to someone’s neck.

          • Harald Van der Voort

I just hope she can still at least manage Absolution as she is really the heart & soul of the stable and if she’s not in the picture they’re in trouble cause Deville can’t cut a promo to save her life, and Mandy isn’t terrible but not great either.

This is all very bad timing for the division. But I’m thinking of her right now the most, because this has got to be killing her right now after the big comeback and everything was starting to get good for her career again.

          • ?Naomi?

Are you kidding me? Sasha has kicked how many ladies like that? This is not the first time she has done this and none of those women were hurt as a result. I’ve seen people get hit much harder and not get Injured. Y’all are just being hella dramatic looking for someone to blame when the person you should be blaming is wwe/Paige. They knew she wasnt 100% and rushed her return. If a kick that did not look that hard ended Paige’s career the. The issue the. Lies with Paige not being ready to return.

          • #FlairfortheGold

Yea she’s done it, but did she have to do it hard to someone SHE KNOWS has back problems?

          • #FlairfortheGold

BLAMING PAIGE?!? Yea because she’s trying to get injured on purpose huh? You lost all credibility with that. And like many ppl here, don’t try to make it a race issue because ou guys always find a way to bring it up whenever we try to engage in argument

          • ?Naomi?

The blame more so lies with wwe. If a kick that wasn’t that hard ended her career she wasn’t ready to return.

          • #FlairfortheGold

So you’re saying that if Me and you were in a match and you had just came back because you were told by some of the worlds “best medical assistants” that you were okay to compete, and I stiff kicked you in your upper back close to where you had surgery, that it wouldn’t be my fault but the companies. Even though they said you were okay enough to compete because their experts, being experts know when enough is enough?

  • MiguelAngl

This is so sad… she was so happy for the RR

  • Typical Heel

??????? no Paige!!!! Smh i wanted so much more for her

  • Nikki’s Sister

ugh I just feel so bad for her. I want to stay in denial and wait for announcement but the guy who first broke the news is rarely wrong.

  • Mickie’sNumber1fan

My dear Paige. Your comeback was very iconic. You brought 2 girls with you and made your mark. I’m very sad to hear this happened to you and just know I respect you a lot and I hope you get through this.

  • Bliss = Goddess

I turn Sasha heel and put her with Mandy and Sonya

    I feel for Paige

    • ssilva872

      That is a good idea.

  • vdcvt

That’s horrible news for Paige, I feel so sorry for her if this is true. She was really doing great in her comeback, and with her interviews you knew right away that she had a great attitude going forward. I really hope she’ll be able to return to in-ring competition again.

  • A One of a Kind Collectible

I am so devastated! Honestly I am in a state of disbelief. Paige deserved to make history in the rumble! My heart truly goes out to the girl if this is true.

Now I know we’re all upset and even a little angry, but please don’t send Sasha hate. If you feel like its her fault, keep it to yourself! If this is true she probably feels horrible and may be worrying for her career as we speak (Because lets be honest WWE do punish workers they deem ‘unsafe’. This situation may be a bleak one, so send love to Paige and just leave Sasha out of it!

  • A One of a Kind Collectible

I’m looking on Sasha’s instagram and I am so disgusted! The amount of people telling her to kill herself! Jesus christ I hate this community.

    • PhiPhiBanks

Don’t worry about it. Sasha seems to have her head screwed on, she likely won’t take any comment too seriously.

Lets face it in a couple of weeks people will have moved on to complaining about the Rumble match.

    • Bootzelchy

      Kings/queens

  • Tina

Heartbreaking. I’ll be praying for this to false. Paige is truly something special and my heart aches for everything she’s had to go through.

  • Summer_Slay

Karma hit her and WWE. I hope its not true and she’s able to return at some point even tho she is not needed and i do not support her but thats what WWE gets for replacing queens SUMMER & EMMA with those 2 poor excuses of a wrestler. I hope absolution is done for good. It flopped because it was solely focus on Paige the other 2 were just there. If they get a storyline on their own they will show the world neither one of them is ready. Even tho Daria progressed since she was called up Mandy kept doing the only 2 moves she has a knee strike and GodCool’s finisher. Not to mention we got the same soryline on both shows. Anyways now that she possibly cleared a spot:

  • Mark?

This is incredibly sad and devastating news. She had passion for what she did. Although she’s never had a solid match in WWE since her match with Emma on NXT, she was looking good in the ring since her return and had yet to peak. Still sad but not a big loss.

  • Tina

Oh Paige? So heartbreaking. I was really rooting for her to come back, win that rumble, and have an iconic match with Asuka at Mania. Praying relentlessly that this isn’t true. She still has so so much to offer.

Since ya’ll wanna talk about Sasha so much, if this is true this could be where Sasha turns heel, takes credit for retiring Paige, and takes over Absolution.

  • Mark?

But geez you guys, how hard did Sasha kick her? Is she crazy? Sasha is the best overall performer in the women’s division, but I’ve been watching wrestling since I was like 6 in 1999… You’re barely supposed to touch your opponents (or not at all) when you go for a kick. Even low dropkicks never touch a person’s face. The Chick Kick only connected once in Trish’s entire career, against Mickie James at News Years Revolution. Kicks aren’t supposed to actually connect. Is Sasha crazy? How does she kick someone so hard they lose their balance and fall face-first? I know she’s a passionate competitor but she needs to pull back…

  • Ronline

A real shame. It’s never a happy thing to see a wrestler of any kind of have their career end in this way. It wasn’t for Edge or Daniel Bryan, and it isn’t for Paige.

She seems hopeful to return via her instagram posts, but hope can only get you so far. In any case, I hope she can return to the ring and have the grand return she wants.

But most of all, so long as she is healthy and happy is the most important thing of all.

  • Peace ??

The 3 NXT originals are gone! Paige, Emma and Summer! While the 4HW smirk with the “now we can say we started the revolution when we all know it was them 3”

No but in all honesty, it’s a shame Paige’s career has come to an end! Same with Tyson Kidd really! If they punish Sasha then they should punish Samoa Joe too!

You knew Sasha felt bad after in the video! And you could see the concern on Bayley too! Mickie just looked a bit like “what happened? I hope nothing serious” but don’t give Sasha hate guys! She probably feels bad about it.

    • Brittany Smith

Exactly ppl coming for Sasha acting like Paige wasn’t already injured from her back anything could’ve done that but hopefully this isn’t true because even though it’s not her fault that would certainly make Sasha feel a little responsible

  • Mark?

That kick looked way too forceful. You’re not actually supposed to kick someone so hard that they literally fall. You’re supposed to make it look like you kick them with momentum but actually just tap them on their back with your toes. The person taking the kick should be the one falling on their own merit. Poor Paige!

    • Harald Van der Voort

It was a pretty hard mule kick right between the shoulder blades, and notice what happens to her head, how hard it snaps back? That’s whiplash, guaranteed.

She caught it in the worst way you could get it without being crippled for life.

    • MK126

That kick was way too forceful and im not making excuses but Paige seemed a bit too far for Sasha so she actually had to use some force. Sadly Sasha used too much force and Paige got injured. Accidents happen with stuff like this

      • #FlairfortheGold

        Yea a kick like that wasn’t needed…

    • Jaded

There was nothing stiff about that kick

      • FlawlessMickie ?

You really can’t say that unless you felt it yourself but I have a feeling Paige got hurt from the way she sold the move. Her head was and body seemed very limp almost as if she wasn’t ready to be kicked.

        • Jaded

Yes, she was ready for the kick. That was a planned offence, she got injured selling it and not from the kick. How does a kick on the back translate to an injury on the neck.

          • #FlairfortheGold

If you’re neck snaps hard when you get kicked and moves back and forth hard then that’s how…

  • Bliss = Goddess

Honestly if Paige neck was this bad off I’m glad she didn’t fight Asuka.

Paige has the rest of her life in front Her so I’m glad WWE found out

  • Cailum?

The tea is that Sasha is unsafe in the ring. period. The kick to the back was way too forceful and anyone with eyes can see that, it’s not the first time either since she’s busted Alexa open like 4 times and botches like 60% of her moves as well. I wish Paige the absolute best and I’m heartbroken if this is true but someone needs to speak to Sasha, she potentially could have ended someone’s career

    • Eric Williams

When you really think about it Bank Statement can easily break someone’s neck if pulled too hard. And she used to pull the sh#$ out of Charlotte’s neck every ppv.

      • ?Naomi?

Charlotte is a gymnast so he’s hella flexible.

        • Xaos

          ‘he’ ?

          • Brittany Smith

Didn’t peep till you said it?????

    • Carolution

sasha isn’t unsafe and busting someones nose open is unsafe than victoria/tara is a dangerous worker because she broke beths jaw, broke candices face and busted several womens noses open.
its wrestling and that kick wasn’t too hard it looked the exact same as baileys.

    • jxs_

That could have been anyone kicking Paige in the back & the result would have been the same. You shouldn’t be wrestling with neck issues. Period.

      • #FlairfortheGold

Well it happened to be Sasha. PERIOD. Give it up, people are coming out and saying that kick was either too forceful or too high on Paige’s back. If it’s not Sasha’s fault, it’s Paige’s right? Because I’m sure Paige is trying to injure herself. Stop being a delusional fan for once and realize that maybe Banks shouldn’t have kicked too hard or aimed lower than she did

    • Crazy. #RIPMae

Other girls have busted Alexa over too so are they unsafe? No. Maybe Alexa’s nose is just too sensitive??? And 60% of her moves? Name them. ? I don’t think Sasha is unsafe, her style is just different and she’s adds too much force sometimes. Unsafe is someone who PURPOSELY injures someone, Ryback for example. After looking back at the kick, I do think Sasha could’ve kicked lower than that but I also don’t know why they even thought of doing that spot with Paige?…

      • #FlairfortheGold

Well, other than Sasha it’s been Asuka but I’ve never of Asuka injuring someone besides Alexa’s nose. Sasha has Emma, Alexa, and Now Paige… now what? Are we still going to allow her style to continue injuring people? Just because it’s sasha? Because we know that if it were Nia or Alexa, y’all would be dragging them to the bottom and back

        • Crazy. #RIPMae

Asuka injured Dana as well. Dana was injured and then after her injury she was called up to the Main Roster.
I don’t know what’s your point but I said before when the injury happened that Sasha should change her style up just for the sake of her opponents so… what’s your point? Just like if it were Nia and Alexa you’d be making excuses just like majority of the Sasha fans are now. If you’re going to assume, I’ll assume right with you, hun.

          • #FlairfortheGold

When did I say that if Nia and Alexa injured someone, I would defend them or where did I show that. On the contrary hun, when Nia injured Pam, I also called her out and said that she should be more careful because if she keeps going rough, she’s gonna keep on injuring people. I’m not like You and all the other Sasha fans here who whenever she injured someone or does something, y’all make it seem like “it’s not her fault.” Who’s fault is it them, Paige’s? That kick didn’t happen by itself. Someone did it and there wouldn’t have been any problem had she not done it with force as everyone else can see except you delusional Banks fans

          • Crazy. #RIPMae

You’re assuming that I attacked Alexa and Nia, which I did, and making it seem like I didn’t come for Sasha for injuring Paige. I called all 3 out for their sloppiness and mistakes but you wouldn’t know that because you’re too busy assuming. So I’ll assume right along with you. “not like You and all the other Sasha fans here who” first off don’t place me with “all the other Sasha fans”, second off why are you making it seem like ALL Sasha fans do this in this comment? There’s some ones who aren’t delusional and admit that Sasha injured Paige. It’s Sasha’s fault, yes, there wouldn’t have been any problems if she didn’t do it with force but that spot should’ve been called off in the first place.

          • #FlairfortheGold

“You’re assuming I attacked Alexa and Nia, which I did”
            …..

          • Marc. ??

You’re trying to call me out for being a hypocrite by attacking Nia and Alexa while praising Sasha and making excuses for her when I’m not. I came for all three so what’s your point?

  • #FlairfortheGold

Paige is going to be missed sorely and I do not look forward to the stale feuds between Pam, Sasha, and Asuka because homegirl has gotten stale already. This was supposed to be Paige’s year where she won the Raw Women’s Title and reinvigorated her career? And whether you guys want to admit it or not, before there was a Pam, the Boss Sasha, Queen Becky, or even Queen Charlotte, there was a Paige, Emma, and Summer Slay. It was the matches between Queens Emma and Paige that got the raves before ANYONE else did and they were the ones who carried the NXT Women’s Division on their backs and put it on the map. Queen Summer was the first to have an actual intriguing and defined character in NXT and her gimmick is what made NXT a part of its initial success along with Paige and Emma. Don’t @ me you Hw marks because y’all know damn well that if Paige, Emma, and Summer hadn’t put NXT on the map with their matches at TakeOver or great character work, the ones that followed would have never been given the ball to run with in the first place ???https://78.media.tumblr.com/441e26d1208f1aebe2ce744b25774ba2/tumblr_o9i1p4lYsO1rmv1vdo1_400.gif

    • Eliseo Reyes

Paige was the only woman that could’ve been a Triple Crown Champion like Charlotte. So sad we’ll never get to see that now.

      • Dean

Mickie James could be that and more if they put the raw and Smackdown titles on her. She deserves that glory!

        • Eliseo Reyes

The only reason why i didn’t mention mickie is because i don’t think WWE has any plans for her, other than her being enhancement talent.

  • Kessa Kez

this is so sad and i feel sorry for her after the time she spent getting herself ring ready from her previous injury. unfortunate but i fear it could have been far worse and this might be a sign to say put your health and body first and retire now. im hoping its not true but with this sort of serious injury i cant see wwe risking to clear her again and put her back in the ring. she’s done.

if its to be believed and wwe management are very high on paige and im sure they are given her push, i strongly hope they mould her into the sherri martel type manager and give her a managing role. Paige is someone who knows how to cut a promo and with age on her side she can have a lighter schedule and longer career with the wwe.

  • Darryl lee

Here come the fans blaming Sasha.

    Still, pretty sad for paige.

  • Damn!
  • Kendra

WWE needs to end they beef with Chyna and have her in this women’s Royal Rumble if Pagie cant do it

    • #FlairfortheGold

I don’t know if you’re joking or being foolish but Chyna is dead?

      • Kendra

omg I didn’t know imma look it up. I just started watching wrestling again

  • Kendra

WWE should hire Luna or Ivory to replace Pagie if she cant make it to the women’s Royal Rumble

    • Justin Bebier

      Luna’s dead too

      • Kendra

imma just start doing some research before I say any names

  • Nicola Byrne

Jesus I hope not!! With Paige being back I was hoping Sasha would be put at the back of the line for very long time and someone new get a title shot!

  • SkilledDeathArtist#1

Was never the biggest fan of hers. It’s still very heartbreaking to hear. Her, Emma, and Summer Rae were the original nxt trio and helped to make the women’s division down there for what it was. To see the last one done hurts my soul.

  • conan_kun

Not when Paige just returned, they should bring Emma back.

  • TheNeighborsCat

You know how it goes. Dodgy doctors, bureaucracy, etc. Vince probably don’t want another Nowinski style lawsuit. She better pull a Bryan and run that contract out or else she’ll never be let in a ring again.

  • It

They should play this into an angle. AJ LEE could return and be the Leader of absolution…. or sasha can turn heel and carry the group

    • Justin Bebier

“AJ LEE could return and be the Leader of absolution”

You know who Aj’s married too right?

      • It

        Yes, and?

        • Justin Bebier

If AJ Lee wanted to come back she would be there already. CM Punk hates WWE right now so AJ isn’t coming back.

          • TheNeighborsCat

AJ is chilling on a couch writing books, married to a millionaire and never has to work for the rest of her life. Why the hell would she want to put up with Vince’s BS?

          • Will Henderson

plus AJ retired due to a having permanent spinal damage that was similar to Paige.

  • Kendra

I don’t want no one from the main roster to win the Royal Rumble I want only the women from the past to win because it will be a good match between Charlotte and one of the women from the past who have good ring skills. I don’t wanna see Alexa Bliss at WrestleMania cuz that match gonna be trash no matter who she go up against

    • Justin Bebier

What? The main roster girls are actually in ring shape, there’s no way Trish, Lita, Molly ect.. would have a great match in such a short amount of time. Women of today have better ring skills than most of the girls back then. Like seriously.

      • Kendra

not true I can name a few girls from the past that can hang with the girls today . Melina, Gail Kim, Jazz, Ivory, Victoria, Michelle McCool, Jacqueline, Beth Phoenix and I even think Madusa still have it in her

        • Justin Bebier

Most of those girls are retired. Victoria might be the only one active actually

          • Kendra

just cuz they retired don’t mean they cant give a good match . these girls have always been skilled in the ring and still got it

  • Jack square
    • Carolution

rough but i dont get how that kick was enough to end her career when bailey did it it looked the same.

      • sleeper11

        her neck was already sensitive

        • Carolution

its rumored her doctor told her to retire and somehow wwe cleared her if true this could be a lawsuit as it put paiges life in danger/future earnings so i hope she becomes a manager if her inring career is over.

    • joshua

for some reason this had me dying.

  • Xaos

    Sasha must be happy :)

  • GoldE*nB3dOf*FoxE5

Somebody said wwe should hire Luna……OK……

    Sasha is dangerous in ring.

Sorry to hear about Paige, That sucks.

Sonya is pretty much finished, Mandy will ditch her soon. Alicia will have her own personal jobber soon.

    • ssilva872

      Hire Luna?

What an uninformed buffoon they are to not know that she passed away..

    • FlawlessMickie ?

      SCR

    • Joseph

      How is Sonya finished?

  • GoldE*nB3dOf*FoxE5

Most of these people aren’t even fans. Getting gift cards to be weird. Lol.

  • YonceLuvsDivas

Omg no!!!! Please let his be false. I really want Paige to get her redemption after one hell of a year. ?

  • M-Kay Ibbert

They should troll us if this isnt true. Have her say she cannot wrestle and have her enter number 30 in the rumble… Genius

    • Dana Del Rey

This is actually the first time id be okay if WWE decided to troll us

  • Carolution

paige knew that kick was coming and it wasn’t that stiff and i dont know how paige would have gone through the rumble if all it took was abit of a stiff kick to the back and had she been thrown over the top rope it could have been even worse.
im hoping this isn’t true since paige/emma started the uprise of womens wrestling in wwe/nxt.

    • IconicTrio

Making out it was somehow Paige fault is equally as repulsive as people blaming Sasha. Just don’t.

It was a sad accident by two experienced professionals that just happened. No one is at fault here.

      • Carolution

i wasn’t blaming paige at all. it’s a freak accident that would have happened at any time considering paige’s neck injury is on the same level as edges allegedly.
if anything wwe should have forced her to retire or go into a non-wrestling role considering how bad her injury is.

        • #FlairfortheGold

“Paige knew that kick was coming” is equally the same as saying she knew it was gonna happen but she let it anyway so it’s on her… grow up

          • Carolution

no, mr fantastic is jealous of your reaching. paige knew the kick was coming because the same match happened the night before so this is just an accident.

          • #FlairfortheGold

Yea but not with som much force. Like do you even listen to yourself sometimes. Trump must be upset he’s not as delusional as you

          • Carolution

you like to reach, i hope you stretched beforehand stalker.

          • #FlairfortheGold

Stalker when you replied to my comment rn lol okay whatever

  • I refuse to believe this :(

  • Del Rey

I met her last year when she first got injured and was going out with Del Rio. She looked generally aggravated, but put it all aside to take a picture and talk to me about WWE. I could sense a strong will/vibe about her unlike most people I come across. Her pic she posted to me, indicates that she remains optimistic. I pray she will recover and I know she will. She’s just that amazing. I don’t know when or how, but she’ll pull through even if it means occasional matches.

    Prayers for Paige.

  • Nathan Bootleg Kardashian

I’m gutted for Paige. She went through hell and back only for one misstep to potentially ruin her career.

  • Crazy. #RIPMae

I feel like all this is a work. Paige coming out at #30 would be amazing, the reaction she’d get… ICONIC.

    • Bootzelchy

Thots on Sasha being a trash hoe?

    • Bad and Bossy

      ??????

    • FlawlessMickie ?

      Girl… I hope lettuce pray.

      • Brittany Smith

Didn’t think we could actually agree on something

  • Crazy. #RIPMae

This could also make for an interesting storyline that leads to a Sasha heel turn and Paige face turn. It’s time for Mandy and Sonya to ditch Paige anyways. That’s if this is actually a work.

    • conan_kun

I wonder if Mandy and Sonya are ready to stand alone on Raw. And it’s awkward to let Sasha to be new leader of Absolution and even let Sonya and Mandy to aid Alexa against Asuka.

      • Crazy. #RIPMae

It should just be the two of them as a heel team with Paige going face. It’ll be like the breakup of Team BAD. Sasha going face, Naomi and Tamina staying heel. Sasha doesn’t have to be the new leader of Absolution, she just needs to turn heel.

  • Bootzelchy

    Sasha is trash. Period

  • Bootzelchy

    UGHHH POOR QUEEN

  • Bootzelchy

NO PAIGE VS MICKIE NIA OR ASUKA UGHHHHHH

  • Bootzelchy

  • Bootzelchy

    FVCK SASHA

  • Bootzelchy

    “It wasn’t her fau——“ STFU

  • Maddox

The original anti diva, the woman who started the womens revolution. This is just heartbreaking. Paige vs Asuka was the only fresh matchup they could have done at Wrestlemania for the Raw women. Now am sure it will be a multi womens match again

    • Neutral

The only fresh match up?? Sasha vs Asuka is what?

      • Maddox

A match that can happen on a Raw, just like Paige vs Sasha and Asuka vs Alexa happened. There is no suspension that Sasha will beat Asuka, when she can’t even dethrone Alexa or beat Paige

        • Neutral

So what about all the times Paige lost to “lesser” people?

          • Maddox

She had more momentum with her return and forming Absolution, compared to Sasha/Bayley/Mickie James who have just been losing.

          • Crazy. #RIPMae

And Sasha could easily gain momentum like Paige.

        • Crazy. #RIPMae

Why was there suspension that Alexa can beat Asuka when she lost to Charlotte then? Your point makes no sense. With your logic nobody has a chance to beat Asuka.

          • Maddox

First of all, Charlotte is top woman in the entire company bar maybe Asuka so her beating Alexa in a champion vs champion match doesnt take anything away from Alexa, just like how AJ Styles losing to Lesnar took nothing away from him. Infact Charlotte is one of the only people who can believable end Asuka’s streak.
Alexa is the champion and she has beaten people that are better wrestlers like her such as Bayley, Sasha and Mickie James so ofcourse you have to suspend belief for a title match with Asuka.
Thirdly, people were saying that Alexa vs Asuka is not a wrestlemania match so give me a good reason why Sasha vs Asuka is, if not for the fact that the match will be good?

          • Crazy. #RIPMae

You’re not getting it, sir. If Alexa can’t beat Charlotte, another top woman, why would anyone believe she could beat Asuka when Asuka is on a higher level than Charlotte? Going by your weird “suspend belief” logic obviously. Alexa vs Asuka isn’t a WrestleMania match lmao. You literally just answered your own question… it’s a WrestleMania match because 1. It never happened before and they’ll live up to the hype surrounding the match. 2. The match will be great and it’ll be at WrestleMania which is another plus. A great women’s match happening at Mania? It’ll make other people believe that women wrestle just as good as the men, if not better.

          • FlawlessMickie ?

To be fair, Asuka vs Charlotte never faced. So, just because Charlotte beat Alexa doesn’t necessarily mean anything. But I don’t think I could believe Alexa beating Asuka.

          • Crazy. #RIPMae

Asuka and Charlotte never faced? Well, duh. Sasha and Asuka never faced either so? I actually could see Alexa beating Asuka with her huge push she had last year but it’s just weird that he thinks Alexa vs Asuka is a Mania match while Sasha vs Asuka isn’t.

          • FlawlessMickie ?

Well you were saying if Alexa can’t beat Charlotte how could she beat Asuka… Asuka and Charlotte never faced so, maybe Charlotte could beat Asuka? She should tbh.

          • Crazy. #RIPMae

I was saying that because he said Sasha couldn’t beat Paige and that nobody would believe in Sasha vs Asuka as a mania match … when Alexa has also lost to Charlotte before. Those were two forgettable losses though so if Alexa vs Asuka is a Mania match why isn’t Sasha vs Asuka one? Sasha may lose the title on the first defense all the time but she’s one of the few who wins the other matches that’s not title matches. I may have said Alexa vs Asuka wasn’t a Mania caliber match before but after looking at things it definitely could be. I may not WANT it to be one but it is because of the booking. But the booking isn’t the only thing that makes a Mania caliber match and that’s where Sasha Banks vs Asuka falls in play.

          • #FlairfortheGold

Well with that logic, If Sasha can’t beat Charlotte, then why should sasha be the one to break the streak? especially if they booked her not be able to defend the Raw Women’s title?

          • Crazy. #RIPMae

What are you talking about?… Where did you see Sasha should end the streak in my comment? I never said anything about that. I said Sasha vs Asuka is a WrestleMania caliber match regardless of her recent losses because everyone knows both girls will show out. You should be replying to Maddox not me because I’m not the one with this logic, I’m just basing things off of his logic and even then nothing makes sense and the only WrestleMania caliber match is Charlotte Flair vs Asuka with his logic.

          • #FlairfortheGold

Well it makes sense… Charlotte and Asuka can deliver as well. Charlotte/Asuka appears on paper to be more WM caliber off the fact that Asuka is the most dominant woman we’ve seen and Charlotte has all the accolades that speak for her
            – 1x NXT Women’s Champion
            – 1x Divas Champion (and the last one)
            -4x RAW Women’s Champion
            – 1x (and current) SD Women’s Champion
            – Won the 1st HIAC Women’s Match
            – Has Main evented on all shows
            – Part of first MITB Women’s Match
            – Critically acclaimed the greatest women’s wrestler of this era after Asuka

*This is not to say Sasha can’t deliver or anything like that, but if we’re saying which is more WM caliber, then Charlotte/Asuka has more depth to it than Sasha/Asuka

          • Crazy. #RIPMae

…that’s not what we’re debating about. We’re debating about Alexa vs Asuka being a Mania match over Sasha vs Asuka. Pretty sure everyone here knows Charlotte Flair vs Asuka is a Mania match. Charlotte is the golden girl, obviously her vs Asuka will have more depth.

          • Crazy. #RIPMae

I sort of get where you’re coming from and then I don’t. I get that Alexa vs Asuka would make for an interesting Mania match due to their huge pushes. That’s fine. But I don’t get how Sasha Banks vs Asuka won’t be a Mania caliber match when the match will be 10x better than Bliss vs Asuka. WWE can easily build Sasha Banks back up to make her a threat for Asuka like they did with the Mickie/Alexa feud.

          • Maddox

Before i continue, i will like to point out that i have nothing against Sasha Banks which might sound like do.
When Alexa vs Asuka happened, everyone here (or rather most) were saying the matchup wouldn’t be wrestlemania worthy and even though i disagreed, i get that cuz, Alexa is just average in the ring. But logically, based on thr standing of all the women in the company, If Alexa vs Asuka wasnt wrestlemania worthy, why would Sasha vs Asuka if not just for the fact that it would be a good match? Thats why i thought Paige as champ (with Absolution by her side) vs Asuka would have made a great storyline. Well at the end of the day, i will still be watching wrestlemania regardless of what match is booked

          • Crazy. #RIPMae

Yes, I get where you’re coming from. Booking wise Alexa vs Asuka could be mania worthy due to them being unstoppable but why wouldn’t Sasha vs Asuka be a mania worthy match? If that was indeed the match, WWE would’ve built Sasha up for Asuka, making her look more of a threat than she was before, hyping the Mania match up. Will Sasha Banks finally win at Mania? Will Sasha Banks end Asuka’s undefeated streak? Will Sasha Banks win her 5TH RAW Women’s Championship?

  • Angelica Marie MoNae

Well this sucks big time if it is true! She had so much left to give at only 25, i am deeply saddened for her to have the opportunity to compete in the first womens royal rumble snatched away from her like that.

  • conan_kun

What if they use this to turn Sasha heel, if she comes out and brags about hurting and retiring Paige, that would be a lot of heat, but not necessarily heat I think they are prepared to handle.

  • Hope this isn’t true

  • saul de la efe

not a huge Paige fan but this is so sad, she loves wrestling, this is such a nightmare :(

  • Kyle

It’s going to be hard for me to ever watch WWE again if this is true. There were a lot of things I was hoping for… the Sasha feud to mean something more… yikes. I will just have to look away from wrestling for a while.

  • chrissi calvert

Until WWE or Paige make an announcement on this then it’s all just rumours and speculation

  • HBIC

This is so sad poor Paige, Emma needs to return to lead absolution and paige the manager of them

    • Dylan Gutierrez

Emma was fired and already has moved on to indie bookings. If they released her for being too vocal about her role, I doubt the WWE would rehire her after being the ones misusing her the whole time.

  • NoWayHoeSay

I really hope this isn’t true

  • eastcoast cam

this is so heartbreaking. i feel like they’ll officially announce her retirement on monday night raw. i feel like she’ll do it like edge and daniel bryan did. going to stock up on tissues because i know it will be emotional.

is it too early to start the #thankyoupaige. i’m honestly hoping this isn’t true and that someone got it wrong. but my gut tells me it’s true.

  • Dean

That’s such a shame. Poor Paige’s can’t catch a break. She needs to stay on as Absolution’s manager and maybe add a third girl to the group from NXT. The group needs some muscle.

  • ?BurningUpInsideOfUs?

Honestly it’s tragic this has happened to someone who has been through so much bullshit already and has devoted her life to wrestling. I hope she still stays as the leader and manager of Absolution because she has the mic skills to get Mandy and Sonya over.

Although as some people have said in the comments down below, I would love if she brought back Emma to replace her as the leader in ring. She could say in a speech that although 1 NXT original is down, there is always another ready to carry the torch and then Emma’s theme hits.

  • Michelle

Poor girl! Injuries happen and I think she should have had a non wrestling role right from the beginning of her return! She never looked right since her return!

  • ????é? ?

    Better be fake.

  • Crazy. #RIPMae

Paige or WWE have YET to talk about this so there’s still hope. If they somehow talk about this on Monday then I’m 100% sure it’s a work.

    • MK126

I doubt its a work. Maybe they just dont want to confirm it just yet without letting her get some testing done before hand. Tbh after watching the video and her body’s reaction to what happened id say these reports are 100% true. She may have been able to leave the ring on her own after a few minutes of laying in the ring but WWE wont risk it again especially if next time she cant move at all

      • Crazy. #RIPMae

But things are getting suspicious around here. WWE posted something about Paige and deleted it 2 minutes later, I don’t know… this situation is just weird. I just hope Paige is in the Rumble.

  • Well this was unexpected. I hope Paige finds success in whatever her future holds, whether she eventually gets cleared to wrestle or wherever she ends up.
I feel bad for Sasha and Paige. Damn…

  • It

After this i want Sasha to turn heel please… I bet her crowd reactions won’t be the same…

  • jeff zimmerman

then please write her in as a “MANAGER OF CHAMPIONS” and make her a female GRAND WIZARD OR BOBBI THE FEMALE BRAIN TURNER!! LOL there is still a place for her in wrestling, she doesnt have to wrestle…i was loving the new “group think” ideas because being “singles” got boring…i even like the angle that DANA BROOKS IS IN…she can make a name for herself now…having a “manager” help her out…lol

  • Can’tGetNo…Stratusfaction

Paige cannot catch a break. Her determination to return to wrestling is what kept her sane during the “scandal,” so I hope this devestating news doesn’t take her to a dark place.

Freak accidents happen, but I’m sure Sasha must feel horrible. Not quite sure what the response for her will be (especially backstage) once this news officially breaks.

  • Damn!

WWE posted this on their IG page hours after her retirement rumors….I hope this is just to build her up for the RR match and win it….hopefully ? (It’s a stretch but I’ll hold on to this possibility.)

    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/8e72ca93a9a704d4222fcf4506d2610b38d675eae7fac80280b41a4f768ab929.png

    • THOMAS

they deleted it right away i wonder why

    • Cilla

      Things are getting suspicious.

    • #ROSEARMY

She was among the handful of favourites to win the RR aim betting odds. Such a shame if she is done.

    • Jo9834

I would say they are trying to capitalise off the internet buzz her retirement rumours are creating, and then also realising that its not the best way to keep the ‘surprise’ aspect of her retirement either.

  • The people blaming Sasha for Paige iniury are just stupid. It’s like blaming nattie for the fact that Nikki reinjured herself. I hope the rumors of Paige having to retrie are not true.

  • NoWayHoeSay

People thinking this is a work it isn’t they wouldn’t as this is really serious we talking broken necks here not a bad shoulder like Bayley

    • sleeper11

i know people are so delusional

    • Neutral

Right and it was an angle they would be doing it on TV not trying to hide it.

  • Almarpar

Im waiting for this to be officially confirmed. I really hope this isn’t true:(

  • BC

I’m suspecting that WWE isn’t confirming it yet because they’ll give Paige a segment where she announces it + retirement speech on RAW.

  • #ROSEARMY

The inexorable ugly beauty of this business: Saraya-Jade Bevis has given her life and body to the art of professional wrestling since her formative years, and that body can possibly commit no longer. It’s terribly unfortunate, and sad given the scope Paige had left to explore since making her mark in WWE, but it’s ultimately no one’s fault. She was wrestling in spite of lifelong scoliosis and had just returned from a game-changing neck injury. I have never forgotten the zest and sheer passion emanating from this young girl since I first laid eyes on her at a SHIMMER event, and I can only imagine, if true, how heartbroken she will be in private. In any event, I wish her all the health and continued success in the world – whether that be in the squared circle or not.

  • Joseph

Accidents happen no one should be blame.

    • NOT Released Emma

      Agreed

    • Bad and Bossy

      ??????

  • NoWayHoeSay

I wanted her to be champ so bad she deserves it ??

  • Rodney Holston

No need to blame Sasha. That kick wasn’t a big bump, if that’s all it took then it was bound to happen sooner rather than later. Let’s count our blessings that it wasn’t any worse cause it very well could have been. Sending prayers to Paige, Lord knows she’s been through it.

  • Brittany Smith

Really hope this isn’t true Paige deserves so much better and she must be heart broken after coming back after 17 months only to wrestle a few matches then retire have my fingers crossed this isn’t the end

  • #PolynesianGoddess

You guys are so full of double standards. I remember when Aksana accidentally injured Naomi y’all were dragging her and saying she should be fired and what not. Now that it’s everybody’s favourite Sasha it’s suddenly an accident. I like Sasha and I think that she shouldn’t be blamed but fact of the matter is she is known for being stiff in the ring for no apparent reason. This is the second person she’s reinjured in the span of like 6 months? First Emma now Paige. Also you’re not supposed to kick someone so stiffly ESPECIALLY when they are not even looking or knowing when to take the bump seeing that Paige had her back turned to Sasha. Also it looked like there should’ve been a bit more time for her to kick Paige because by the way Paige falls she wasn’t expecting the bump even though she knew it was gonna happen. If you ask me, yes it was an accident, but also showed unprofessionalism on Sasha’s part. It’s horrible how in a split second everything can change. I’m hoping for the best, the queen still has to reclaim Her House.

    • Carolution

emma fell wrong which isn’t on sasha and a kick that happened the night before went without incident so why would sasha go out of her way to end paige’s career.

      • #PolynesianGoddess

I didn’t say she went out of her way and did it on purpose. It’s not like she woke up that day and was like ” oh let me injure Paige”. But it’s known that she’s stiff. For example some weeks ago at a live event she chopped Nia harder than she should and even she cringed after doing it because she didn’t mean it. This is the same case, she didn’t mean it however it has happened more than once and I feel like it’s time for her to start measuring her stiffness and try not to let adrenaline take over her.

    • NoWayHoeSay

Omg you can’t compare Aksana to Sasha ????

      • #PolynesianGoddess

How come? They were both professional wrestlers who were involved in an accident where their opponents came out injured. If you ask me that’s very much comparable. Considering both of them were accidents, skill level does not have anything to do with this, just people’s bias and usual double standards around this site.

      • Typical Heel

Right what do he think this is? ?????

        • #FlairfortheGold

Ummm why not? Sasha and Aksana are both wrestlers.
Why is it okay to go off on Aksana but not on Sasha? Because she’s your fave? I don’t think so

      • #FlairfortheGold

Of course. Just because Sasha is better than Aksana doesn’t make it okay for her to go untold to stop being stiff in the ring and to stop injuring people. They’re both in the same business and at the end of the day, they both injured someone. It’s kinda worse for Sasha since she is a Vet in wrestling so she should know to not be so stiff, especially if she knows her opponent just came back from a surgery

    • Wrestling.fan.from.France

“also showed unprofessionalism on Sasha’s part” That’s ridiculous.

      • #ROSEARMY

Unprofessionalism would be Sasha intentionally trying to injure someone else. How anyone can attribute an accident, which is part and parcel of the business, to unprofessionalism is strange.

        • Wrestling.fan.from.France

Exactly! I am really confused at some people going as far as using such words without really understanding the meaning.

          • #PolynesianGoddess

What I meant was that she shouldn’t have kicked Paige so soon so stiff after she turned her back. I didn’t mean unprofessional in the sense that she did it on purpose but it showed that she could’ve thought better. I’m not saying it was her fault it was an accident but still she’s stiff in the ring and that’s a fact even when it’s not necessary. Professionalism is knowing how to respect your opponents boundaries and measuring your strength. Both women have something to learn from this.

  • Mimi Rose

    Oh that’s a shame.

Loved Paige when she first burst onto Raw and flattened AJ. I don’t watch NXT so had no idea who she was. But being a UK lass, I was super chuffed for her.

It’s a shame if these rumours are true but she is only young and can branch out into various things. She is a hugely talented lady.

I know she’s not gonna read this but all the best to Paige.

  • Crazy. #RIPMae

I love Sasha but SOMETIMES she can come off as stiff and sloppy. That doesn’t change the fact that she puts on some of the greatest women’s matches in the company though. I respect her for that but she needs to tone it down in the ring for others safety. If this is indeed true then poor Paige. She doesn’t deserve this at all. That kick did look hard after looking back at it, why did they even agree to this spot in the first place? They should be trying to avoid Paige getting hit in her back as much as possible..

    • NoWayHoeSay

Paige openly said Sasha is very safe with her

      • Crazy. #RIPMae

And? She probably is safe with her but that kick didn’t look safe at all. It should’ve never happened. Yes, I know the move was planned but the kick could’ve been avoided if both would’ve said no to it due to Paige’s past injury.

        • Wrestling.fan.from.France

The spot is simple and just fine. Now, an execution can change what can be seen as a simple spot. If you have to avoid such a spot because you feel she is going to get injured, then she had no business being back in the ring in first place.

Paige openly said that Sasha was very safe with her and I don’t see how can any of them predict this thing happening with such a simple spot. Plus, there can be a lot of factors in this injury. Maybe she was already in pain during the match before that spot due to other spots and THIS was just “icing on the cake”.

Accidents happen in wrestling, even to the best ones.

          • Marc. ??

They can’t predict an injury happening. But the fact of the matter is that it happened. It was unintentional but it still happened. Paige would probably still say Sasha is safe in the ring regardless of what happened but at the end of the day Paige was injured by Sasha’s kick. It happens. It’s wrestling. Beth Phoenix and Victoria injured many people as well but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re talented. I still love Sasha though because I know she didn’t do it on purpose.

  • Raekon

I REALLY hope this isn’t true and just rumours cause her and all her fans will be gutted. She is so Young and has all the time in the world to become a legend and a HOF.

  • Kvngbalor

This situation is starting to remind me when Sasha was in and out with injuries and wrestled hurt at SS dropped the belt was hurt worse by a botch by Charlotte and all those reports start coming out she was done same sites saying this bou Paige was saying same things bout Sasha in 2016 then wwe played on it promoting sasha to address the wwe universe bout her future and everyone thought she was retiring but she attacked Dana and Charlotte

  • Nathan

If this is true I hope wwe give her the decency to allow her to adress the wwe universe with an open mic just like they did for Daniel Bryan and Edge

  • B J

I hope to God this is a work!

  • MickUso

This is the saddest thing ever, this women has wrestling in her blood. Her whole life has been wrestling! She just came back from a horrible year; and now this? I’m hoping these are only rummors but if they aren’t then, I wish the best to her. She’s such a star that I’m sure she’ll do well in whatever she chooses to do. Personally, I don’t see a manager in her; she has personality for life, great looks & presence but she’s also the girl that take care of dirty work. If she goes that route, I will support her as always, because I know she’ll find a way. Ugh… I just hate these things keep happening to her.

  • I’m in shock and so depressed about this news… I mean I hope it’s just a part of an angle or something like that. If it’s true wish they confirm it today on RAW. #fingerscrossed!

Paige posted this picture on Twitter last night with no text. It certainly looks like a goodbye shot, a final bow to the crowd. So whilst it doesn’t 100% confirm the rumours, it does seem like Paige (as a wrestler, at least) is done.

There has been an update that’s she’s been “medically disqualified” I think she should be on the Raw announce table swap booker T for her

Booker T make no sense on commentary, sometimes I’m convinced that he isn’t watching the product, he’s just announcing while playing candy crush.

She needs a break, like for real.. first the thing about the videos and now this, I sincerely hope there will be something good for her in the future as this feels like a bad dream coming to life…
