Rumors regarding Paige’s future after in-ring retirement

Last night, April 9, 2018 on Raw, in a somber speech Paige retired from in-ring competition. Now speculation is emerging regarding her future.

PWInsider is reporting that Paige’s retirement speech last night is her last appearance on WWE television. At least that’s the plan for now. WWE plans on keeping Paige in some capacity, potentially as a trainer at the Performance Center. She remains under contract with the brand.

She is being added back to the cast of Total Divas, which was filming during WrestleMania weekend, and she will be a big part of the promotional push for the ‘Fighting With My Family’ movie which will be released later this year.

Outside WWE she has created her own brand under the name “Saraya” with the assistance of former WWE star Rosa Mendes. The fashion line made an appearance over the weekend in New Orleans at Wrestlecon.

Meanwhile, Paige reacted to the outpouring of support on her twitter today:

Paige underwent major neck surgery in 2016 and began making a comeback in November. She suffered a stinger in January and was pulled from all shows immediately after. The situation is reportedly similar to the neck injury that forced Edge, 44, to retire in 2011 following WrestleMania 27.

Paige has been wrestling since she was 13 years old. She holds numerous accolades including being one of the few Superstars to win a major championship during their debut, is the youngest woman to win the Divas Championship, is the only woman to hold both the NXT Women’s Championship and Divas Championship at the same time, had the first NXT Special Women’s Match in history, is 2-0 at WrestleMania, was a Tough Enough judge, and has an upcoming movie coming out about her life.

We’ll keep you posted when more official news breaks.
