Results: Nia Jax retains the Raw Women’s Championship

Tonight at Backlash, Nia Jax successfully retained the Raw Women’s Championship against her former best friend Alexa Bliss.

Bliss started off by kicking Jax’s knee, attempting to get the champion to the ground. Bliss followed up by trying to use her quickness but Jax powered her down, squashing her at a corner and throwing Bliss across the mat.

Bliss slid to the outside to catch a breather and then approached the ring apron to land a kick to the head for a two count on Jax. Bliss stays control by using the ring ropes to choke Jax and stomping over her back finishing things off by driving Jax’s head to the ring apron.

Bliss runs the ropes and slaps Jax across the face where she then sets up for a DDT but Jax countered out. Jax goes for a rolling Senton but misses, allowing Bliss to capitalize and take back control, landing knee shots and forearms to Jax. Bliss runs the ropes but Jax catches her.

The champion maneuvers to a corner where Bliss tries to escape Jax’s clutches by wearing Jax down with a sleeper hold. Jax slings Bliss off the top corner and uses her power to throw Bliss across the ring. Jax goes up to the second turnbuckle but Bliss knocks her off, sending Jax to spill the outside. Bliss goes after Jax on the outside, where she manages to send Jax face first to the steel steps.

Bliss brings Jax back to the ring where she earns a two count. Bliss runs the ropes once again but like before Jax catches her. The Superstars battle for control at a corner that comes to an end with Bliss kicking Jax off the corner for another two count. Bliss goes for the Twisted Bliss but Jax catches her to counter with a Samoa Drop to retain.

In a post-match interview, Jax dedicated her win to anyone who has been or is being bullied. Jax continued by saying that bullies never win and encouraged fans to embrace what makes them unique.
