New details on WWE UK contract deals

As it was previously reported, the WWE is set to launch a new NXT UK series, which will feature talents from the UK and Ireland. In addition, two new Championships will be introduced, including a UK Women’s Championship.

So far, Toni Storm and Jinny have reportedly signed WWE UK deals while offering Nina Samuels and Charlie Morgan to ‘extended tryout deals.’

According to the Wrestling Observer (via Ring Side News), wrestlers signed to the brand will all have one one-year deal of about £24,000 pounds ($31,600 American dollars). This is an increase from the $20,000 previous competitors had, likely being ITV World of Sport. The women weren’t originally signed because ITV didn’t originally intend to feature women in their programming and the value of women in WWE wasn’t as high as it is today.

In addition, the WWE has the option to cancel contracts at the four and eight-month marks if the company does not want to continue working with the wrestler. The contracts also ban talent from working for companies with television deals or major online followings on their off days and in specific Revolution Pro and Defiant in the U.K. and companies like Impact, ROH and outside.

The WWE will begin to their first set of WWE UK events later this month and the following dates after:

  •  Saturday, July 28, and Sunday, July 29, at the Corn Exchange, Cambridge
  • Saturday, Aug. 25, and Sunday, Aug. 26, as part of Insomnia, the U.K.’s biggest gaming festival, at NEC Birmingham
  • Saturday, Oct. 13, and Sunday, Oct. 14, at Plymouth Pavilions
  • Saturday, Nov. 24, and Sunday, Nov. 25, at Liverpool Olympia
