On this day in history:

September 14th, 2015 | Nikki Bella was only hours away of becoming the longest reigning Divas Champion in WWE history. Before Nikki could earn a place in the history books, she first had to defend the Divas Championship against Charlotte Flair. An unsuccessful attempt at “twin magic” saw Charlotte pin Brie Bella and be crowned the new Divas Champion, but the decision was promptly reversed by Stephanie McMahon, who ruled that Nikki was still champion by virtue of DQ rules. Stephanie wasn’t done there, though: she immediately booked Charlotte’s rematch at the following Night of Champions PPV event adding that no Team Bella trickery would result in a similar non-finish, dictating that if Nikki lost the match by pinfall, submission, count out or DQ, she would lose the title.
