In a bit of news that I’m not happy to report (and am posting mainly so Melanie doesn’t have to), it looks like Torrie and the WWE have parted ways after over 7 years. WWE.com provides us with the standard generic, information-less statement:
WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Diva Torrie Wilson as of today, May 8, 2008.
We wish Torrie the best in all her future endeavors.
At least – looking on the bright side – Torrie can now fully pursue her outside interests, since it seemed she was done in-ring as it was. I think I speak for all of us at Diva Dirt when I say GOOD LUCK TORRIE!!!

That really sucks. I’m not surprised, and didn’t they tell her she can still be employed but would have a job backstage?
Noo! ): This is terrible. I freaking loved Torrie. I thought they were going to make her the poster girl and whatnot since she couldn’t wrestle because of back injuries. :/ This made my day crap.
:( This really sucks. She never even got the chance at the title, which she totally deserved. I love Torrie and I am going to miss her terribly. I wish her the best and I hope everything goes well for her. You will be missed Torrie!!!!! :)
Torrie doesnt deserve to be released, release ashley.
I think with Torrie’s back injury it’s the best all round, although i didn’t expect her to get released, i was thinking she would do PR work for the company.
Mind you I’m sure she’ll want to focus on her clothes store.
i agree with Mace ! if their have to make a choice they really should keep Torrie ! even if its just backstage ! she deserve to stay ! ! ! !
