Raw Live Blog: Tag Team Action
June 24th 2008 | Posted by Melanie

This is a random post by Melanie at 3am, so it may not be too coherent. I am watching the WWE Draft and a few Diva related notes below:

- The Divas match of the night (hopefully not the only one) was enough to make any true Diva fan squeal like a little girl! I know I did! In a dream tag team match, it was Raw’s Melina and Mickie James taking on SmackDown’s Natalya and Victoria for a draft pick. This match was announcers only, meaning only announcers/interviewers could be drafted as a result.

- There was a spot where it seemed Melina was injured, for a minute I thought it was a real injury however the outcome made me think otherwise. Melina’s “injury” led to a brawl, leading to a double count-out allowing Raw and SmackDown a draft pick. If we think about it, it makes sense as they can’t just move one announcer to another brand.

- No Divas have been drafted as of yet.

- How much is Melanie looking forward to JR and Mick Foley calling the SmackDown Diva matches? A lot!

  1. Unfortunately unless there are people moving after the live program ends, no diva’s were drafted. However there were some surprising names moved around though.

  2. Hopefully the divas get a lil’ shakeup with the supplemental draft.

  3. what the hell
i was watching for 3 hours and all i get was a well a pretty good match but NO DIVAS DRAFTED!
ugh! my god and what are we left with a stupid ass story line about some-one trying to assassinate Vince McMahon
well i guess it’s just a stupid recreation of last years story line when Vince’s limo blew up
    so mad
but if the vince thing is real
    WOW!
but i guess it might be a new fresh storyline
    what are ya gonna do
    oh well
maybe corperate will annouce the diva draft online tomarrow

  4. it goes to show you what the WWE thinks of Divas if none of them were announced during the draft. its obvious that it wont be much of a shakeup since no big ones that were a big deal were announced during the show..and a shame there was only one divas match

  5. Does anyone else think its poor taste to have the mr mcmahon dead storyline when a year ago exactly chris benoit killed his wife?

  6. I agree with Marco!
IM SOOOO PISSED NO DIVAS GOT DRAFTED!
I WAS WATCHING FOR 3 HOURS AND NOTHING!
I mean they could’ve at least had 1!
I hope the supplemental draft has at least 5. I really want Layla on RAW!

I felt sooooooo bad for J.R. He didnt know he was getting drafted! WWE was kepping it a secret! He was almost crying! I was almost crying too! I feel sooo bad 4 him! But i am looking forward to him calling the diva matches on SD!

and why did ECW only get 1 pick?
    THAT SUX!

Also I heard that Melina’s injury was legit but i’m not sure.

Plus Im LOVING Natalya’s new theme!

    and Freakin victoria!
She is always injuring other divas!
I luv her but she should be more careful!
    lol

  7. I think its kinda weird that not a single diva got drafted…damn I was hoping a certain dirty whore I mean diva would go to ecw

  8. More then likely on WWE.com we will hear about 10 others being drafted. Much like last year and the years before.

  9. I don’t think there will be a supplemental draft. Noone’s reporting on one.

WWE.com posted an article/video on the RAW section and it said she severly hurt her ankle tonight. So it is real.

  10. Omg i hope melina is ok

  11. WWE Diva Injured On This Week’s Raw
    Date Added: June 24, 2008
    Story By: Cornelius Wilson
Melina was legitimately injured tonight on Raw during her match with Mickie James against Natalya & Victoria. While on the top rope, Melina was knocked off by Victoria and landed awkwardly on the outside. Mickie immediately went to her aid asking her if she was alright. Jack Doane then gave the producer the “X” symbol and she was carried to the locker room. We will have more details on her injury as soon as we hear more.

  12. No supplemental draft? Oh how crappy! Melina actually injured?!

  13. Dammit that just totally sucks. I love Melina and I don’t want her gone. Hopefully it won’t be to bad and she can heal asap.

  14. While it seemed to play right into the storyline regarding the announcers switch, Melina suffered a legitimate ankle injury tonight on RAW during the Divas tag match. On the RAW homepage they wrote: “On Raw, Melina severely injured her ankle during a tag encounter with her fellow Divas.” The WWE site posted a video of medics tending to her ankle injury backstage, which was heavily bandaged. The video shows a close-up of Melina’s swollen ankle, proving that the injury is legit.

  15. i know what that killing vince story is for
so they could close million dollar mania
    and add a storyline
    wow
how i know, because once you enter to the site it says in the top banner above the news section REGISTRATION IS CLOSED (for million dollar mania) hmm i guess it’s pretty smart
well i guess we have to wait and see what happens
i hope they accuse ashley and she gets fired LOLZ

  16. ^^ lolololololol

well the divas getno drafts ugh sucks

and what! ecw on gets matt hardy? wtf!!

SD! got umaga triple h jeff hardy(<3) nd jr

rw got rey cm punk kane batista(thank god) micheal cole and idk who else

still…N0 DiiVAS!!! ugh they bette have a suplementary draft or i will be mad pissed!

  17. Yeah… I think WWE may be killing off ECW… 1 draft pick? Plus, ECW has no chance in the battle royal. I hate to say it, but I think the “Land of Extreme” is almost extinct.

  18. There’s not much reason to move the Divas now that a second women’s title on Smackdown. The only move that would make sense would be moving Jillian to Smackdown for a better shot at the title, and moving Layla to RAW, but eventually, she’ll be on the roster, since ECW and RAW will merge soon. The divisions are good as is for the most part.

  19. After finding out there will be no supplemental draft I thought the same exact thing that Michael was thinking.
