The Divas Championship match between Natalya and a Diva of Vickie Guerrero’s choosing was cut from last night’s Night of Champions pay per view, due to time constraints it has been revealed. WWE didn’t want to load the card to the brim because they didn’t want to run out of time for their main events:
The SmackDown Divas title match was likely nixed from tonight’s Night of Champions pay-per-view event due to time constraints. WWE pay-per-views usually only feature seven matches, but had they added this one, it would have made for nine matches on the card, and WWE doesn’t like rushing matches on PPV. For instance, WWE had to cut the Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton Triple Threat title match at WrestleMania 22 down to nine minutes because they were running out of time and they didn’t want to cancel the heavily promoted Playboy Pillow fight match featuring Torrie Wilson vs. Candice Michelle. Because the Playboy match wasn’t being called off, and Triple H vs. Cena definitely wasn’t being shortened, Rey’s big match was forced to be cut down significantly. Anyway, the SmackDown Divas title is not really that high of a priority, and they can always push it back to another date anyway.
In any event, the title is mentioned in this week’s SmackDown preview:“Finally, what about the new Divas Championship? When will Natayla find out who she will face for the coveted new title? And when will the title finally be contested?”
Looks like we will finally find out what the sitch is this Friday (or tomorrow night if you like spoilers). There’s a vicious rumour circulating on the boards today that Maria will end up as Natalya’s opponent and even win the title. I say vicious because that would be an eyesore if I ever saw one…`

Wow. That Night of Champions stuff is Crap! I was excited to See That Match! And, Perosnally I think Maria is not fit for a Title
I really hope that Maria doesn’t win the title, at least not yet anyway. They can’t just drop the Natalya/Michelle fued, if it’s not going to lead to the Championship match.
I really can’t see Maria defeating Natalya successfully and believably. She hasn’t been involved in any of the matches leading to Vickie announcing who Natalya’s opponent will be.

Of course! Instead of a match, let’s give JBL a 1 hour interview, HHH a 20 minute entrance, and abuse Vickie for the 50th time this year! I would much prefer that over a solid match. *sarcasm* I thought wrestling was supposed to stress the physical aspect more that the dramatic aspect. How lame. Leave the drama for the televised events, not the ppv.

i hope maria will not be champ ! i like her but i dont think she is ready for that as Natalya … she is already a champ for me
I would’nt mind seeing Maria as a champ. I think the Diva’s Championship should be for the “Divas” of the WWE and the Women’s championship should be for the “wrestlers.

Oh, good idea Artie. So, the Divas championship would be for the less experienced women, and the women’s chsmpionship would be for the seasoned divas. Good way to look at it!
Maria is not fit for a title, she is a crappy diva and a crappy compitator. I have no idea what people see “hot” in her, she sicken me. The release Torrie Wilson and Ariel but keep Maria thats messed up. It would be a short match anyway Natalya would snap her in half, on second thought maybe they should have had that match.

And another thing, what do we have to do to get Divas popular and a “high priority”, I hate that the Divas get cut, and I really wanted to see that new belt! Not that it has as much meaning and class as the Women’s Championship, you know built up for glory by the Fabulous Moolah, Lita, Trish Stratus, and other women legends, sorry Mickie your just not doing it for me yet. Yes I think this new Divas Championship is good for the lesser divas, like Kelly Kelly, Maria, Eve, Cherry, Lena, Ashley, Jillian(maybe), and others. Not that I would ever be happy if they wore gold around their waists…
Maria winning ANY championship would be a mistake against mankind. It would be a horrendous, painful, undeserving abomination to the fans. Not only would she not deserve it, it would be even worse than Candice winning the women’s title. And i am absoloutely serious. And um, “sally”, you’re wrong. I don’t care what championship it is, if you’re not good, you don’t deserve it.
