It seems to me that this Sunday’s Unforgiven pay per view will be going to the ladies of Friday nights. If you read spoilers from both Raw and SmackDown’s tapings last night, it certainly seems SmackDown is the more progressive and “PPV ready” of the two brands at this stage. Raw is in a state of transition, no real feuds or storylines have been mapped out meanwhile SmackDown definitely has a clear cut Divas Championship match between Michelle McCool and Maryse. We’ll see if the announcement is made during SmackDown or on WWE.com this weekend.

and then last last year it was trish vs lita and those were pretty good matches

I agree. Maryse could make the title work for her, unlike Michelle.
But I can probably see Michelle winning, just because Maryse has had a winning streak with her partners lately.

Maryse would be a better champ, and it would actually LOOK better on her..but if that announcement comes Friday night or Saturday, then theres no buildup whatsoever which makes me think in a busy and filled PPV with the scramble matches that will probably take up 75% -80% of the PPV…a 2 minute Divas Chmapionship match will end with McCool winning….but really, what kind of a fighting champ are you if your #1 contender that you beat…is MARYSE?@

I don’t think the scramble matches are going to last that long, Christi. At 20 mins a piece that makes 1 hour out of a 3 hour show to deal with. I hope this match is going to turn out ok, Maryse may have an awesome character, but she’s not that great in the ring…
