Just as we suspected, WWE.com has announced that Michelle McCool will be defending her Divas Championship against Maryse this Sunday at Unforgiven. This will mark her first title defense thus far:
At Unforgiven, proud Divas Champion Michelle McCool will risk the gold she has tirelessly fought for against the cunning Maryse in a match of toughness and sheer determination to be the top Diva on Friday Nights.
Since making history by overcoming Natalya to become the first-ever Divas Champion at The Great American Bash, Michelle has done everything in her power to bring integrity and class to her reign, while setting the bar high for her challengers. Her considerable ability is only surpassed by the belief she has in herself and what she is capable of inside the squared circle.
Maryse has demonstrated little respect for the champion and even less modesty, noting that the gold would look better around her waist. Tensions have built to a fever pitch as the sultry Diva has aggressively pursued the champion, going so far as to attack her prey at the conclusion of their tag team competition in recent weeks, initiating a knockdown brawl between the two. Maryse insists she is the sexiest of the sexy and desires nothing more than to capture the gold.
At Unforgiven, Michelle will attempt to silence her outspoken challenger once and for all. If Maryse hopes to unseat the All-American Champion, she will need to bring the skills to match her silver tongue.

It’s great that this match is made.But i’m 100% sure that michelle will win… :(
im happy this match is happening and I really think Maryse is going to win. shes obviously high on someones list right now and i think shes much better as a Divas champion, cuz she definitely acts like one on TV. i think its a ploy to put her into a feud with Maria and get the belt on her probably by the end of the year…but this can also be a ploy for Gail Kim to possibly come to SD and get the title on her..all in all Ill be watching the match..on Youtube
and the Raw girls werent ready to have any kind of match, they had on at SS, plus theyve gotta reintroduce Candice basically

I’m honestly glad that a Smackdown! match is going to happen for the Divas. It’s long over due and I know there was Michelle vs. Natalya at GAB… but finally, Smackdown! are not being shoved away.
It’s not THAT long overdue. There was GAB, then SummerSlam and now Unforgiven. Seems like they’re alternating between Raw and SmackDown, which is a good thing because it guarantees both shows get some spotlight on PPV.
I’m glad to see Michelle finally getting the opportunity to defend her title since winning it. I’m not bothered who wins, I am a fan of Michelle’s but maybe if she loses the title people will stop the constant bitching about her… I just hope that if Maryse does win it, Maria isn’t next =/.
I kinda wish that they could make room for two Diva matches… not necessarily at this PPV, as I’m aware that Raw hasn’t had any build in storyline towards the Women’s Championship (unless Mickie wanted her rematch).

Yay. It’s about time the title was defended, SD writers are f’ing stupid sometimes. I love that the writers at WWE.com try to make it look like it’s a feud for the ages, though lolz. It’s been going on 2 weeks and they make it sound like it’s been going on for months. -.-
As much as I want Maryse to win, I think Michelle is going to win. She’s not just gonna lose the title after holding on to it for 2 months.

I think this is a good idea cuz it jst means we wont get to see Natalya jobbing to Michelle at a ppv again so I can see Michelle losing to Natalya at Armageddon, no other diva is likely to take it off her jst now!

Lol invincible? Michelle’s been on a losing streak as of late and it’s her FIRST title defence, if she lost it now it’d look pretty damn stupid.
michelle is gonna win plain and simple if not it’ll be a huge surprise for me i like surprises, but anyway i wish maryse would manage miz and morrison(and still wrestle) and they can be a rip off of the beautiful people since tna is always trying to mock wwe and the roles would be reversed since miz and morrison are boys and maryse is a girl where as velvet and angelina are girls and kip is a guy.
Of course Michelle will probably win. :( There is no way they will let her lose it so soon espcially since she has Taker on her side. And I don’t want the title on Maria. I don’t think she’s ready. Besides Natalya and Victoria deserve it more. But if it means Maryse or Maria gets the title then I’m fine with that.
