Howdy everyone, it’s your friendly neighbourhood bloggers here! we felt we ought to create a “house keeping” post to address some of the drama going on here at the site lately. Since launching in March 2008, we haven’t had to do this but it’s time to address some issues that we have at the moment.
First things first, like I said, since launching in March 2008 we’ve never felt the strong urge to post something like this. We’ve dealt with a lot of topics here at the site and dealt with a lot of smack talk in the comments. We’ve lived through Ashleygate and put up with marks with their bad spelling, without resorting to this but it’s time to clear a few things up.
Since Candice’s return, we have dealt with a lot of unnecessary crap that we don’t need and don’t appreciate. Let me make it very clear, this is a blog not a fansite. If you don’t think we’re being favourable to your favourite Diva or Divas, it’s not our problem. Blogs are online journals, you don’t read your sister’s diary to read your opinions. So what makes you think Diva Dirt is any different? When you read a blog, you’re reading the thoughts and opinions of the bloggers. Both of us, as a rule of thumb however, try to have some objectivity in our posts. We try to restrict judgement and criticism to the subject at hand, whether it be a performance on Raw, a photoshoot or anything else. If we don’t like it, we’re gonna write about it. That doesn’t mean we hate the Diva, we are just as quick to criticise our favourite Divas as we are the ones we don’t like. So people commenting saying we should be ‘fair’ or that we’re ‘bashing’, we are.
The truth is many of these commenters simply cannot take the slightest criticism directed at their favourites and for some reason, expect us to read like the news or expect us to read like a fansite where everything is rosy and every is perfect. We put our opinions into our posts, we’re not a news site and we’re not a fansite. At this site, you’re not gonna simply get Raw results, you’re going to get our analysis and thoughts. And you’re certainly not gonna simply get us kissing someone’s ass. We are grown women, educated women, with thoughts and opinions. We aren’t mindless, gormless retards who simply put up ass shots and say “That’s hot, check this out!” If you want all things rosy and all things sweet, visit a fansite. Don’t come to Diva Dirt. If you need a suggested reading list of fansites, please feel free to e-mail me.
We will never and I mean never, water down our writing or hold back simply because a select few don’t like it. We’re not here to please marks, we’re not here to appease marks who can’t help but boil their blood when reading the slighest critical remark. No one is calling anyone a ‘slut’ or a ‘whore’ or a ‘bitch’ at this site, we are simply critiquing and offering our opinions. If you don’t like it, don’t visit. It’s honestly that simple.
Thankfully there are people out there who are intellectual enough to take things at face value and not overanalyse them or become a defensive mark just because someone doesn’t think their favourite Diva is absolutely perfect at all times. Thank you to the smart fans out there who are able to understand and respect other people’s opinions as well as offer their own. We never censor comments here, you are welcome to have your opinion and share your opinions and spark debate with others. But do not behave obnoxiously or rudely to fellow commenters or to our bloggers, because we can be very nice – but if you act like an asshole to other people in our comments, we will switch on you like a light.
It’s such a shame that it had to come to this, we’d love if everyone could get along. But obviously that’s not the way the world works. The bottom line is, we want to attract an intellectual audience not marks with their panties in a bunch. We have been discussing simply blacklisting Candice from this site – not covering anything to do with her. But honestly, we are grownups and we’ve dealt with a lot of crap and we’ll continue to deal with it, because at the end of the day it does nothing to deter us from our goal to post great content for you and it doesn’t deter us from the passion we have for this site. We just want to let you know where we’re coming from. Maybe you’ll take away from this, maybe you won’t. But the truth is now out there.
And PS: It’s the Internet. If what we’re writing is pissing you off and making you respond like a mark having a violent fit, you need to get out more.

A mark, by the way, Krystal is a fan who thinks that they know it all yet no nothing. This site has folks on here that do a good job of constructively criticizing wrestling WITHOUT sounding like marks, but more like educated fans. Hats off to you girls, keep doing what you do.

I’ve always felt you girls have received way too much flak for voicing your opinions. You take time out of your lives to offer your readership fun and original content and they crap all over you because you say your opinions. It’s good to see some mature people on the internet like yourselves, lol. :)
We’ve all dealt with “marks.” Isn’t it a pain in the butt? Unfortunately, they will never go away. I feel sorry for you ladies. This is one of the reasons I’m hesitant about trying out for Diva Dirt. I don’t want “marks†spamming all over my posts yelling at me for opinions.

Well, a number or prospective bloggers got their first taste of what Melanie and Erin get almost daily.
Hey, it’s a tough crowd sometimes, but you do a good job of giving it to us straight (albeit, a male’s POV wouldn’t hurt once in a while. I mean, girls can be so melodramatic :P)

Mike, we’ve been more than generous with you. Until this past weekend, we’ve put up with a lot of your whiny, rude comments that you’ve directed to both myself and Erin and even other commenters. There are constructive ways to say things, but they are obviously lost on you.
Just ban all the whiners, make the site more peacful, start with mike.
