Parents Television Council, on guard! Disney Channel has seemingly recruited former Women’s Champion, softcore porn star and Playboy covergirl Candice to appear on one of their shows. WTF, Disney? W…T…F! Unfortunately though, Candice won’t be “laying the SmackDown” on that pesky little brat, Miley Cyrus but will be appearing on Wizards of Waverly Place a series starring rising Disney star, Selena Gomez. The episode airs on January 4th, 2009.
Regardless of my personal opinion on Candice, this is just inappropriate. If someone were to simply show the PTC a clip of Candice’s entrance, I think that’s all they need to see to revolt against Disney!

I don’t see the big deal. She doesn’t do it anymore. It’s not like she’ll be on there stripping or getting naked or anything. She’s not even that widely known for people to look her up. Kids watch WWE now and see it, and I’ll have you know WWE Is now a PG show. So what’s the difference? WWE wants to appeal to kids and picking one of the divas/entetainers for a kids show isn’t bad.
It wouldn’t matter what diva they would’ve picked. They all have revealing photos posted EVERYwhere.

Her appearance will probaly be limited. I’m sure the people at Disney have done their research on her. Although I am suprised they would chose someone whom has done porn and been on the cover of Playboy. It’s nice of her to appear on the show though.

Oh, and it may be in her past, but just because she isn’t doing spread eagle poses THIS VERY SECOND doesn’t mean that an innocent kid can’t find it doing a google search for her today. Let’s be realistic here. “The past” isn’t truly the past in the internet age, because nothing like that goes away.

Mike, we all know of your profound fandom for Candice but there’s a line between being defensive over your favourite Diva and being ignorant. Regardless of who she is, I think it’s wildly disturbing to have ANYONE who’s ever done porn, Playboy or played a sexually suggestive character on TV appear on children’s programming. I’m not saying this to have a pop at Candice at all, as a parent this is something that really disturbs and irks me.

I am a fan of Candice and can’t wait to see her,what she’s done in the past she has probably regretted doing as she has said that se regretted alot of things before and she’ll likely appear for 15 minutes so it’s nothing too controversial and as it’s ben said before she isn’t stripping and the WWE are now PG.

I agree that it’s kind of sketchy to have Candice on a show like this and there were probably much better divas to send, but at the same time… I don’t know, I just can’t think of it as that big of a deal. I’m sure Candice won’t be the center of attention and, as a few other people have noted, I would be more worried about her awful acting.
Still… I don’t think I understand the argument regarding what the Disney girls are “often called.” It’s not like Disney is advertising them in that manner. I haven’t seen a “check out Disney.com for profiles of your favorite Disney Sluts!” commercial. People are ignorant and pick on a lot of these kids for poor personal decisions. Though I’m definitely not all up in arms over Candice appearing on the show, there’s a big difference between her CHOOSING to be involved in the things she was involved with and Vanessa Hudgens taking naked pictures FOR HER BOYFRIEND and them leaking. One was a career decision, the other was some douche hacker invading what was meant to be totally private. Biiig difference.

Regardless of whether Disney stars are considered ‘whores’ or ‘sluts’, regardless of what Vanessa Hudgens has or hasn’t done, Disney in a global brand that markets to children – they cannot control perceptions created by the public. They cannot control human beings. What they can control is the content they choose to put out, it’s disturbing to see them willingly use someone whose past is questionable in their programming which is aimed at children to watch.
I don’t give a flying hoot if it’s Candice or Jenna Jameson, to me, it’s the morality of it. To me it’s a big deal, as a parent. As most of our readership are teenagers, I’m not expecting you to understand but when you’re a parent, maybe you will.

First, i don’t have a snarky attitude. It’s my opinion and i think people are overreacting. She did porn, she didn’t killed thousands of people. And it’s her past. Just because she did porn, others shouldn’t judge her for that. What people do with their lives is their business.
The fact that DISNEY didn’t mind having Candice on the show shows that they don’t care about her past. They wanted a WWE DIva and the WWE gave them candice. Period. Move on. It’s not the end of the world. And the WWE is PG now, i think Disney is too. lol
Another thing, Miley Cyrus is often critize by many because she doesn’t act her age and she’s Hannah Montana. And besides… the Vanity Fair “scandal” anyone? She was under contract at the time, like now, and they did shit about.

Wow, everyone is making a huge deal about something so small. It’ll probably be a short apperance on the show anyway, so who cares? She won’t be stripping, dancing or whatever else she does in WWE.
Oh, and about the whole “there shouldnt be former porn stars, etc. on Disney…” well I’m sorry, but half the stars on Disney have done some pretty scandalous stuff. I’m not saying it was porn or anything, but look at Vanessa Hudgens, she had naked pics on the internet somewhere, yet she’s still promoted by Disney. Stop making such a big deal about this.

Hmmm it’s interesting I understand both sides, personally to me it’s not a big deal both my little girls watch varied amounts of television shows aimed for children whether your talking TV-Y , TV-Y7 or etc. Things, from iCarly, Hannah Montana, Drake & josh, and Even Zoe 101 back when it’s was still airing regularly. For one I know that I want to keep my girls grounded and i understand that want and need to protect them from being exposed to somehting or someone connected with “adult” entertainment.
Would i tell my daughters that Miley Cyrus was getting camera happy with rickay photos on myspace..NO! would i talk to them about Jamie lynn’s pregnancy hell no, because they’re not at a capacity to understand things in a way that a developed mind would and that is in no way condoning what these girls have done or did. On a personal note i was 17 when my first daughter was born, so i can’t judge Jamie for somehting i myself have experienced. I classify it all under personal choice as to when and what i will allow them to see or know about certain things. When me and my husband watch wrestling it’s never in front of the kids thats somehting i’ve decided to keep them from until just recently when my oldest daughter turned 9. Now whether or not she’ll even want to watch it is another topic but aside from that i could see the worry because everyone here knows Candice’s past but i not going to intentionally stop my daughter from watching one episode because a WWE Diva she knows nothing about is guest staring on it. But that’s just me, I don’t feel it’s wrong I’m sure she want be doing her “in ring ” antics on the show, on top of that tons of kids go to live events and tapings of RAW so if anything I’d be more concerned about that versus her small appearance on the show. Regarding the internet that’s a definite “NO” they’re not allowed to what so ever , they can use computers for games at school but where the girls attend it’s supervised and i also signed a notice that my girls aren’t allowed to use internet at the beginning of their school year. It’s all about limits and restrictions which is the safest way for me to prevent them for things i don’t want them exposed to.

Personally, I don’t think Candice is a great choice for this role, as I have my reasons. (and no not because of her past). There are more talented divas that could do this role (in the acting department). Melina would be GREAT for this. She is already latina it would fit perfectly. She has great acting chops…well the not THE greatest, but beats out the majority of the Divas. Candice is a poor choice because I don’t think she can sell her role. If she can’t do it well in the WWE then I don’t see her doing it well on Disney either.
