‘Tis the birth of a new feature: This Week in History…, where we’ll be taking a match that happened this week in history. (See what we did there?) Who knows? Maybe our trip down memory lane will make you say, “it’s been THAT long?!”

This week, at the 2001 Survivor Series, the Divas took part in a Six-Pack Challenge for the Women’s Championship recently abandoned by Chyna. This match is quite memorable for being Trish Stratus‘s very first Women’s Title victory:

    Trish was face here because of the invasion storyline..

    I was upset when trish 1 this match because wwe could have really done much better in making lita the 7 time womans champ IMO.

    I love Trish but she was really overrated come on 7 time champ molly holly victoria lita they were better wrestlers than trish

    Better wrestlers…without a doubt. But Trish was the one that WWE saw as a top star, and WWE (for a change) actually got it right. Believe it or not, it takes more than just wrestling skills to be a top name in the wrestling industry.

    Love that match, I still remember when they announced that there was a mystery person to be in that match and Jazz debuted, she came out all pumped to no pop lmaoo.

    at the end when ivory wanted to go for a back suplex trish thought she want her to do the stratusfaction without even reversing….no logic at all…lol i belive its because she was excited to win the title for the 1st time

    I loved this match and Molly’s gimmick was funny
