‘Tis the birth of a new feature: This Week in History…, where we’ll be taking a match that happened this week in history. (See what we did there?) Who knows? Maybe our trip down memory lane will make you say, “it’s been THAT long?!”

This week, on the December 6th, 2004 Raw, Trish Stratus and Lita battled for the Women’s Title in the second-ever Divas main event. Their knock-down drag-out fight is remembered as one of the greatest Women’s Championship matches of all time and features one of the most nail-biting bumps a Diva had ever taken:

    OMG! “The Walking Kiss of Death”! Lita knew she wanted to kiss Trish..LOL!
    I remember the entire match! I was soooo scared when Lita did that suicide dive on Trish. I seriously thought that Lita was very injured but I rooted for Lita to win all the way.
    Wow, that just goes to show how much confidence creative had in Trish and Lita to be the main event.
    It’ll be freaking light years before anymore Divas be in the main event match.
