I knew I expected way too much going into this match.
So the lame Kid Rock moment comes on… so I go: “Hey! Perfect opportunity to go brush my teeth!”, by the time I was done doing that and some other quick things I come back and see that the battle royal was going on! I thought “Crap! I missed all of those diva entrances!!” when an online friend quickly tells me “Oh, they came out during the Kid Rock concert.”
BOO and HISS. I at least expected all of the legendary divas to get proper entrances and fanfare! Silly me!
At least Santina winning is way better than Michelle McCool winning in my book. lol

When Trish and Lita………..the 2 “Greatest Divas” turned WWE down, the match went from historical
to comical. “Santina” has gotten real old real fast.

That was just horrible. As soon as the match was announced, most people didn’t have high expectations for it. I will, from this day forward, stop defending WWE’s women’s division. What is there to defend now? WWE has made us Diva fans look like fools. They strip us of our fansites and lowball us out of good matches. Yet, we stand behind it. When the all-Diva ECW special was “announced,” people were rioting, calling it a “waste of time on a bunch of women who can’t wrestle.” Well, with the way WWE presents its lack of interests in its Divas, can you really blame those people for thinking that? And look, we might not ever see that special come to life, anyway. WWE has some good talents in there that it doesn’t know what to do with. Or, perhaps, it does and just chooses to ignore it. Either way, I’m very disappointed by this outcome. WM25 is nowhere near the success of its predecessor. I want my money back.

Once I read the results on a website, I was in complete disbelief. WWE has just fucked up their last chance to make their diva’s division credible. What the fck was this shit? Having Santino participate as ‘Santina’ and winning Miss Wrestlemania? Bullshit. All those divas work hard, regardless of their wrestling skills or not. They should at least have a chance to shine at one Wrestlemania without looking like complete fools. I feel sorry for all the divas involved, new or old. This is a waste of time.

This was a chance to do something historical with the Divas that meant a lot, but hell no. WWE had to turn it into a joke. That is a huge middle finger to all of the hard working women. Now I know why many of the legends turned it down. I know I would have if I was a legend. Not to mention they didn’t even get entrances. The live audience probably had no idea who was even there. I am beyond pissed off.

You know what really gets me? This wasn’t the girls’ fault at all yet they’ll probably get blamed for it when the division could be great if they actually had support. They were put into a situation where it was impossible to succeed.
Sadly RAW is going to suck because Santino will have a long lame segment bragging about it. But you all should have seen this coming because Santino is always involved with a diva match. Sad part is all the matches that were hyped but never happened, because wwe finds it more entertaining to have a comedy segment.

chrisP, sadly that is true with many people. The Divas themselves get blamed a lot for awful situations such as this. Do people honestly think that the Divas would wish for themselves to be portrayed this way at the 25th Anniversary of Wrestlemania?

I feel bad about the Divas. This match was a compete joke. All Divas past and present deserves better than this ending.
This is a disgrace to women’s wrestling period. The Divas deserve much more than this bullcrap. How can you first a) not have entrances for the Divas, ESPECIALLY THE LEGEND DIVAS b) Not even call the action right. Divas were being eliminated left and right, and the announcers just skipped them over, and c) HAVE SANTINO WIN?! Gawddd…this why no one other than us Diva fans respect womens wrestling. The superstars get everything in the WWE, and when finally there’s a chance for a Diva to win something that might be deemed prestigious, a man has to go humiliate himself, and make the entire womens division look like a joke. The only part that was good was the Mickie-Michelle segment, but even then, that was only for like 10 seconds until they got eliminated. I was hoping Trish would come out, or some other Diva, for a post-match beat up of Santino, but nooooo….we get a stupid dance segment. This is beyond degrading. This is utter and complete embarrassment to womens wrestling. Gail must be kicking herself for leaving TNA for this bull. As a serious Diva fan, and fan of womens wrestling, this is by far the most pathetic move WWE has done to make the women look like mindless, talentless barbies, in order to gain some sort of entertainment. And this was not entertaining. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! I am so pissed with the WWE right now. Maybe on RAW there’s gonna be another 2 minute match or segment featuring all the Divas and Santino that will lead nowhere. I’m done. WWE do yourself a favor and listen to our complaints and DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.
I would agree with you, ChrisP, but I think what needs to be considered are the sources here. Sure, the Divas of today would like to be treated as legitimate and serious competitors. However, take this moment to assess just how many of these Divas were former untrained models and Diva Search contestants. It is because of these same women that we’ve now been depraved of great women wrestlers in company of Molly Holly and Jazz for the likes of Maria and Kelly Kelly. WWE decided to go in a different direction by hiring these sort of women and implementing a glorified beauty contest into their payroll. And once Trish and Lita left, it all went downhill. Now, is it the Divas’ fault that they are portrayed this way? Not entirely, but it is important to remember that a good amount of them contributed to the negative way female wrestlers in the WWE today are perceived.

This Battle Royal could have been historical,quite franky but it wasn´t!
Once again the creative writers fucked it up and showed the respect and consideration they have for the divas but worst for the fans.
This match if we can call it that way,was the worst I´ve seen in a very long time.And belive me on Raw,ECW,Smackdown we´ve seen some badddd matches.
First they came to the ring without any introductions and we don´t even no who´s gonna participate.
Exemple:I only realized that Molly Holly was the blonde in the ring, when Lawler said her name.
We had in the same ring Molly Holly who is a goddess in the wrestling bussiness,Victoria,Gail Kim,Katie Lea,Natalya etc and we only see them like 1 second.
The winner was Santina come on are you kiding?!?This is an insult beyond repair.
But unless the WWE realizes that is more easy to turn a female wrestler into a diva then it is to turn a biquini model into a female wrestler,the Divas won´t be pushed and their matches will continue to be a good time to go to the bathroom/WC or to get some snacks :´(

Sorry, but I don’t think that it’s much of a ‘BIG DEAL’ that you need to send WWE threats and hate mail. I really don’t. And I have a bone to pick with those that do… so excuse me now; I’m going to unwind here on Diva Dirt and drop grenades, lol.
You have 25 Divas… think about it. How is it even POSSIBLE for a match with such a large amount of talent involved bound to be a ‘GREAT’ as you put it. Do you really think that everyone would have been able to pull off a spot? That everyone would have been able to have had their Clark Gable close up? Think realistically and logically. The answer is no.
In a nut shell, this was WWE’s way of putting EVERY single Diva on the card, minus the injury-prone Candice Michelle, and even she had a cameo. They all got to participate and they’re all going to get a payout just for being involved.
A disgrace to the fans of WWE Divas would have been for WWE to COMPLEATLY leave the girls off of WrestleMania. But they didn’t. They put your favorites on, and THEN some.
Insert the THEN some… The ‘returning’ Divas were never called LEGENDS. Somewhere, that was plucked from your brain. It was announced that the Divas from the PAST and present would compete in the battle royal. They weren’t exactly rolling out the red carpet for every A-List Diva, but they did lock-in a couple. The basic requirement was that A.) You were on television & B.) That you were relevant. So, from Torrie Wilson to Joy Giovanni, they were DIVAS of the PAST. If they wanted Diva Legends, they would only have a lot of 5 to choose from: Sunny, Sable, Chyna, Lita and Trish. They’re the only girls in their line of business to have shaped the course of the industry. You can count them on one hand and their names are synonymous with WWE fans PAST and present. They banked 1/5 of the ladies and tossed in Mae Young as a bonus measure. There you go.
The only real issue was the ending of the match. Yeah, Santino won, but big deal! Mae Young won Miss Rumble 2000 – you can’t take this stuff to heart. It wasn’t as though the Women’s or Divas Championship was on the line… it was the inaugural Miss WrestleMania Title. Had it been for either championship titles, then I could understand this reaction. But Miss WM? It’s a damn title she can wear around her shoulder as a sash, not a chunk of gold or butterfly pink that goes around her waist.
I can go on and on and on, but to boil it down, the point I’m trying to make… WrestleMania was for all of us Divas fans to enjoy the fact that our ‘girl’ was out there. From an iota of a second to the final four, however long she had lasted… she was still apart of the show. So, the end turned into a comedic skit – again, big deal! It’s a sure bet that that for the rest of the 364 days of the year until the next Mania rolls along, WWE Divas will have another match, they’ll have their “OMG†moments… and hopefully, then, will you be able to smile and let pass without the need of a laxative.

The match was freakin 5 to 6 minutes long, and I had no clue where the divas of the past were! I had to go to wwe.com to see what they were wearing… What I also hated was that the commentators did’nt even acknowledge some of the divas as they were flying out of the ring.
It really did piss me off.
Comcast, cable company, had a huge problem with its regular and HD feed, going to be giving lots of refunds, hurting WWE in the wallet.
