We can all agree that, except for a few exceptions, Divas get the short end of the stick when comes to entrance themes. While the male superstars get music from actual bands and artists or custom made songs with lyrics, Divas get stuck with crappy production music. If I had the chance I would change all the Divas music to something a little… well, better. And that’s just what I’m going to do. Here’s a few changes I would make to the Divas’ soundtrack:

THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE – “DRAMA QUEEN” BY FAMILY FORCE 5

The name say it all. If there was a phrase to describe this malicious trio, it would be “Drama Queen”. Besides the name, the song’s rock and roll feel fits their image perfectly. I originally picked “Bad Girl” by Danity Kane for them, but I didn’t think it complimented them as well.

GAIL KIM – “DIRTY DESIRE” BY UTADA (submitted by Melanie)

This song was brought to my attention by my favorite editor-in-chief, Melanie. I agree that this is an awesome match for Smackdown’s newest diva, Gail Kim. It has that WWE entrance theme feel, without being cheesy. The “Love you long time” line is borderline offensive, but I guess it’s OK since she said it . Anyone who has heard Gail’s new theme would agree this is a welcome change, I’m sure.

SOJOURNER BOLT – “LIKE ME” BY GIRLICIOUS

With Sojourner Bolt’s new face turn, I think a upbeat new theme would fit her great. The song has a good beat, even if the group who sings it is massively annoying. The lyrics support Sojo’s theory that Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed are  out to get her. Too bad a great theme won’t help Sojo get over with the fans.

Leave your opinions and suggestion in the comments. Enjoy!

  1. “Angel on My Shoulder” is one of my favorite wrestling themes at the moment. I think it fits them very well. I automatically associate TBP with that tune, and would simply be gutted if they changed it to something more ‘mainstream.’

I think company production music can actually be quite good. For instance, Maryse, Beth, and Melina’s themes are arguably the best out of the Divas. Even venturing outside of the Divas, Jim Johnston has given us such memorable themes for The Brood, Stone Cold, and The Rock. All of which were not of established existence elsewhere.

Extracting music from bands or anywhere outside the four walls of WWE typically gets little iffy when it comes to copyright issues. I, for one, get really annoyed whenever some of my favorite superstars cannot get their signature themes in games, i.e. The Hardy’s in WWE Shut Your Mouth and even most recently Chris Jericho in WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009.

All in all, I don’t think production music is all that crappy! Especially when it comes TBP.

No real comment on Sojo or Gail, but I really enjoy TBP’s theme, and these days, that seems to be the only consistent thing about them.

  2. I think Gails theme atm suits her newby character, although i prefer the theme she had in her previous stint in the WWE. This theme is quite good too for Gail, i think it’d suit her personna but it wouldn’t be wise to change it too soon :(

    Is Maryse’s theme a production theme? :O
Tiffany had Torries old theme Woooop :D
Santina’s though :S WWE trying to bring back old sparks or something? =S

SOJOURNER BOLT’s theme suits her character but i aint sure if it suits her better than her current theme as i havn’t heard it =)
lol but this suits her in-ring character and is quite jumpy tooo if she fancied coming down say, like maria does :L and it would also suit a Slutty work if she were a major heel. Good choice (Y)

  3. Yes, to answer your question, Maryse’s theme, “Pourquoi” is composed by Jim Johnston and featured on Voices: WWE The Music, Vol. 9.

  4. Some production music for the divas is quite good, like Maryse & Melina, but it’s unlucky some get stuck with the crappy stuff.
I preferred Gail’s music in TNA, I thought it suited her alot more.

  5. All of the choices were really great picks! I hope they do actually do some changes.

  6. I loved Lita’s song! Sorry to be random XD
