The words ‘Melina’ and ‘Heat’ have reared their ugly head again… Reports have surfaced that there is some backstage heat on Women’s Champion, Melina following her Draft move from Raw to SmackDown. Apparently the A-List Diva has shown some ‘open distaste’ and if my understanding of ‘open’ in that phrase is correct, I’m guessing they’re referring to her public reaction to the drafting.
Now, I’m not sure if this another ‘online newz report’ or if there really is heat against Melina backstage, but I feel I should step up and side with her. It’s a shame when a woman’s emotional nature is taken as a sign of ‘open distaste’. Perhaps these reports refer to Melina’s emotional farewell with Kelly and Mickie following her match on the Draft show? Maybe these reports refer to her emotional farewell to the audience after her successful title defence on Raw this past week? Either way, it seems that people have taken this and turned it back on her and that’s such a shame.
Diva Dirt‘s own Erin can attest to the fact that Melina is a very emotional person and we have seen many a tear from the Women’s Champion on Raw in the past; for example when she was injured during last year’s Draft show, then there’s Mickie James’ near-injury last December on Raw.
In fact, Melina was in good spirits just moments after being drafted last week, telling WWE Universe’s live blog:
I’m ready for this change. I believe the talent in Smackdown is great. There is definitely good opponents there. Some may be newer but when you want something and you are a fighter, sometimes it doesn’t matter how long you have been around.
Does that sound like the attitude of someone expressing ‘open distaste’? I think Melina handled her move really well, many Divas could consider the move a demotion (i.e. Maria last year), but for Melina to take her Women’s Championship with her to SmackDown, puts her at the top of that brand’s roster and keeps her in good standing.
After competing on the Raw brand for three years, surely she’s bound to – and entitled to be – upset? I just think people are taking a situation and twisting it. From what I’ve seen, Melina was sad to be leaving her friends behind on Raw and not upset because she’s leaving Raw itself.
Either way, I may be biased, but I’m on Melina’s side here. I just think it’s unfair to judge someone because they’re a little emotional and homegirl is a lot emotional.

If she has heat because of her crying after the draft, then that is just completely unfair. Is someone not allowed to be emotional when leaving behind her friends? I was there and she just went over and hugged Kelly Kelly and Mickie James and cried, and gave a wave goodbye to the fans, and she was being cheered. I’m with you Melanie, she is just a very emotional person, give the woman a break.

Why shoudnt Melina be emotional ?. So if she didnt hug Mickie or kelly good bye..they would have said that she hated raw and she wanted the move. Melina has always been emotional.I woudnt be suprised if they turned this into a complaint and take the belt from her. They are known to fuk people over b cuz of things like this

It depends on what the “heat” is for. If its similar to Maria last year and Melina rattles on and on about it being a demotion, then she deserves it. If its her crying, then I say not. Who knows really?

THis is bull shit. I just know they are going to strip her of the womens title….I mean look at jeff hardy somebody came up witha rumor that he wasnt gonna sign bak with wwe when his contract expires in july and they made it clear that this is the reason why Matt hardy has been winning ove jeff so much. So if they will do that to jeff Im pretty sure Melina will be on a losing streak of strip of her title.

WWE Women’s Champion Melina has developed a lot of heat in the locker room for OPENLY COMPLAINING about being drafted to Smackdown. The general reaction has been eye-rolling and laughter from wrestlers who feel that she had to know it was a possibility that she would be drafted just like everyone else.
“Openly complaining” is the key part. If true, yeah, I’d expect the other wrestlers to be annoyed.
I wonder if this is why Melina got pinned by “Santina” at the Liverpool, Englandl house show?

chrisP- I take what online reports have to say with a grain of salt, especially if it has to do with backstage reports because they are usually assuming what happened. I dont think I have to explain what happenes when people assume. Melina doesnt care where she goes, as long as she gets to wrestle.

Sorry for commenting twice, but sources within the wwe are saying:
WWE Diva Melina was deeply upset about being drafted to Smackdown, although sources are calling it melodrama. It was more of a case that she didn’t want to leave her friends, rather than that she thinks Smackdown is Beneath her.
Thankfully. hopefylly that puts all the questioning about her getiing stripped of the championship to rest.

Who are these wrestlers? It’s funny how the majority of these rumors are always being said by wrestlers who never have names, but instead are referred to as wrestlers. That is probably because NONE of these rumors are legit, so chrisP don’t believe everything that you read. Especially over the internet. I do believe that Melina was upset but I don’t confuse bitterness with genuine upsetness. If Melina was truly upset it’s one thing, but to come up with these assumptions that the woman was bitter is another thing. We’ll sadly never know if Melina was bitter or honestly just upset that she was leaving her hometown of Monday Night Raw.

Eh… haters hate, the rumor mill is what it is. The nature of gossip is that it’s the sort of secret whispering you hear in a back room. They’re not gonna have a headline like “DOLPH ZIGGLER SAYS MELINA IS A BITCH” because then it almost leans toward being some kind of news item where at least there is some proof rather than a rumor.
I’m with Lee on this one. If she starts publicly whining and griping like Maria did last year then I’d say she needs to take it down a notch. As it is these are just rumors and people like to talk shit to keep buzz going, and if it seems like your site has some “exclusive” insider info then you’re going to get more hits. This also isn’t comparable to the Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy situations where Matt keeps winning because (I guess it’s still rumor mill-ish, but it’s been virtually confirmed I think) Jeff has been wishy washy with WWE lately about re-signing. Matt has been pretty gung-ho about staying with the company. Why push the guy who might be bailing on your ass when you’ve got another one who’s dedicated?

The UK Sun is reporting that WWE Women’s Champion Melina has begun dating John Morrison again, which is the apparent reason why she was seen crying during the WWE live draft which took place several weeks ago. At that point, Morrison had not been drafted to Smackdown yet, so the Women’s Champion worried that the two would be separated due to her being drafted to Friday nights. However, the next day Morrison was of course drafted to Smackdown in the supplemental draft and the two ended up on the same show.
