Seriously, someone needs to lay off whatever prescription pills she’s popping and sit the fuck down. Yes, Sunny, I’m looking at you girl. This isn’t exactly news – well recent news anyway – but run with me on this one. I just uncovered a couple of interviews that Sunny recorded earlier this year, I’m not sure if they’re pre or post-WrestleMania. And let’s just say homegirl is sipping from the same cup as Paula Abdul. Long story short, bitch is crazy!
In such interviews, you shall hear such hilarities as:
After insulting fellow former Diva, Sable by saying she looks 60 years old, Sunny says: “I’m 36 and I get told I look 28 everyday.”
On the emergence of Divas: “I consider myself the first total package as far as females go in the wrestling business.” In the process, she can’t help but make a pitstop and spit on Miss Elizabeth and Sherri Martel’s graves, insulting the both. Sunny continues that apparently Vince realised that women could be successful and marketable too, from using her. Okay there, sport… To hear that clip, click here.
It don’t stop there boys and girls! The “Sunny: Self Wank” tour continues in a second interview clip which can be heard by clicking here. And here’s where we think that Sunny, real name Tammy Lynn Sytch, overdosed on her meds. When regaling us with a delightful story of an independent show she worked, Sunny refers to a girl who was founded in one of WWE’s talent searches (i.e. Tough Enough, Diva Search) that *Gasp* dared ‘disrespect’ the almighty pioneer and founding mother of all things Diva. Sunny explains:
- She walked into the lockerroom and started getting ready like she owned the place. Like she was this queen diva. And the first thing she should’ve done was was come to me and introduce herself to me and basically thank me for, you know, the possibility of her having a job because I opened the doors for all these women.
- She definitely did not have the respect that she should have, especially like I said I did open the doors for all these girls. These girls would not have jobs if Vince didn’t learn how to use a girl correctly and that’s what he did, he used me as the mould. He learned how to use a girl and market a girl correctly, through me and these girls wouldn’t have jobs if it wasn’t for me.
*Blink* Has her head exploded yet? ‘Fraid not. So basically we’ve learned that all the great females we’ve seen pass through our lives in the past 15 years or so are all because of Sunny. But of course! I’ve always thought Sunny was a tad *cough* outspoken but this is beyond outspoken, she must have neck and shoulder pain from carrying around that big ole head.
It seems to me that homegirl seems to have some grandiose, distorted memory of the past because she wasn’t all that and a bag o’ peanuts, as she seems to think. Not even by a long shot. Divas like Trish, Lita, Victoria, Mickie, Gail and so many more wouldn’t have jobs if it wasn’t for her?
All those years of interviewers kissing her ass calling her ‘the original Diva’ seem to have gone to her head as Sunny thinks she can rewrite history, saying she took great photoshoots, knew how to work a microphone and even get in the ring. Hold the fuck up…. “I could get in the ring if I had to?” Really? Girl, you never competed in a match in your entire WWE career until three weeks ago, WrestleMania 25 was Sunny’s first official wrestling match in WWE. Honestly, she’s worked up such an inflated ego and such a deluded legacy of her time in the industry, it’s pitiful but laughable at the same time.
Say what you will about Sable – and trust me Sunny has – but she is the true pioneer of the Divas. Sure she, too, got in on the prima donna act but at least she accomplished things. I credit Sable 100% for the Divas roster we see today, I wouldn’t even spit shine on Sunny’s shoes. It seems everything Sable accomplished, Sunny seems to take credit for herself; Sable was truly the first Diva to cash in on being as marketable as her male counterparts. Sable was a bonafide draw for the company and eventually learned the in-ring aspect of it too and of course, became a Women’s Champion. She wasn’t the best wrestler granted, but she paved the way a hell of a lot more than Sytch ever did.
KMT ’bout “They should be thanking me.” Girl, you should be the one thanking. Thanking the industry, thanking WWE and thanking Sable for giving you the ‘high school stories’ you keep spouting to anyone who’ll listen to this effin’ day. I wash my hands of this haggard, nasty piece of work. Sunny, you and Diva Dirt are done professionally! (Unless you do something of note)

I’d think of Sherri Martel, Fabulous Moohlah, Miss Elizabeth, Wendi Richter, heck even Leilani Kai before I thought of Sunny as Pioneers of women in Wrestling, and that just the WWF, and that’s just women who came before her.
Melanie, you really shouldn’t hold back. Tell us how you REALLY feel.
By the way does Sunny mention who this girl is who dared disrespect her?
I believe she’s talking about Miss Jackie. Here is the link to where she talks about it:

.. just because she didn’t shake her hand.
that was actually Jackie Gayda she was referring to
I think Sunny’s right in some ways. As far as recent history she was the first one to really use her sex appeal, use her natural talents as a valet/manager, got on the mic..etc.
Elizabeth was more of a valet and didnt really do anything else, Sherri was more of a personality
I think a far as current Divas and current time, yeah..she’s like 35% right
I love how Sunny says she gets mistaken for 28. At Wrestlemania she looked fat and old haha and if she really is the “original” diva she wouldn’t be so desperate as to be begging for her job back
i do respect her in some ways but wasnt Sable the one that came up with the whole DIVA concept?
wasnt Sable the first Diva to be in playboy?
wasnt Sable also determined enough to get in the ring and hey actually get a title run?
i mean the list kinda goes on and on
Sunny may have done a lot of things and sure she “paved the way” for some of the Divas
but when that phrase comes to mind i think about many other divas before i think about sunny (ex. Sherri Martel, Fabulous Moohlah, Miss Elizabeth, Wendi Richter, etc.)
oh and she says she was the first one to be offered Playboy both Hef and Sable have said that they never contacted her
but i will admit that Sable as well wasnt liked in the WWe by many lol
I don’t like the slang here (home girl etc.), makes the article seem less professional.
Seriously, Sunny did nothing for current divas compared to Sable. Sable was the first female to combine sex appeal, beauty as well the in-ring aspect, and this underpins the concept behind today’s divas. Not only that, but from a popularity point of view, for a while Sable was just as popular as the main eventers. In the attitude era she was an iconic figure and more than just eye candy like Sunny was. As for the Sherri and Elizabeth , Sunny’s not even worth being compared to them.
honestly i never know who sunny was. LOL
Sunny was the first woman to receive her own merchandise, the first woman to sell a significant amount of merchandise and the first to really be pushed as a solo star. I would say she is right in a lot of ways. She was also featured on ET and MTV before wrestling was “cool” i.e. attitude era.
I think Sable is perhaps the most overrated woman in wrestling history, so I disagree, but I think its your right to say what you want.
I understand why she thinks she deserves a lot of cred, Sunny comes from that old school wrestling background where the mentality is pay respects to those who were apart of it early on, which goes for female or male performers. It’s one of those things that in the wrestling world you “just do” kinda like backstage politics. It’s a sucky thing to deal with but for the longest it’s always been that way, which in my opinion is something i don’t see changing any time soon. She’s been apart of every major wrestling promotion minus TNA, and has actually wrestled quite a few matches in WCW though her stint there wasn’t very long she did wrestle often and worked house shows. ECW she never really wrestled full on matches but she had her fair share of ring work done there too and it wasn’t just her cat fight spots with Dawn Marie, she taken some nasty bumps. She’s very knowledgeable of the history of wrestling, and i think she may feel as though a lot of the newer female talent don’t know wrestling like she does, which in turn spawns her comments like the one’s above. As far the miss Elizabeth and Sherri Martel comments go, i think she was really blunt and it came off as back handed compliments but she’s not saying anything other people haven’t said already. She’s very forward as are most of the early former talent of WWF, it’s nothing new from her to be this way.
I also disagree with the sable thing, i actually think their quite equal in terms of popularity and push they received in their days with WWE. You have to wonder had sunny not left the company would sable have had the type of popularity she did, because during the time they were both working with WWE Sunny was pushed more then sable ever was. And it wasn’t like they were the only marketable girls around because Marlena aka Terry Runnels was their also in the mix. As far as i remember while all three were their sunny was the one being placed with prime talent, getting mic time, and being pushed as the top girl, where as the other 2 were really only managing to occasionally accompany their respective partners to the ring. I’m on the fence with this one.
Mace, I didn’t realise I was writing for the BBC.
God Sunny head is made of 99% hot gas.
She’s such a bitch.
I mean REALLY insulting Elizabeth and Sherri that’s going way too far!
Lmao this is why I love Sunny (and Paula Abdul), they’re both crazy bitches who always make me giggle.
Sunny is nothing more than a washed up, drug-addicted nutcase with a HIGHLY overinflated sense of accomplishment. She really thinks that SHE was the end all be all of Divas. First off, like I said, the people she managed in her career were mid-card nobodies, while Elizabeth AND Sherri only managed HOF caliber superstars. Second, if it wasnt for Elizabeth and Sherri, chicks like her wouldn’t have even had a career. Who was the woman on all those magazine covers ALONE before Sunny? Who was selling her own merchandise like figures and beach towels? And who was getting louder pops than most of the males in the company? Oh yeah, it was Elizabeth. And third, last I checked all Sunny did was stand around the ring and run her mouth. All she ever was was a blond, loudmouthed, sluttier version of Elizabeth. Yes, I’m ranting, but it pisses me off how she just throws aside the fact that everything SHE did Elizabeth and Sherri did while was she was still in middle school. Sunny, do everyone a favor and fade into obscurity…
I agree that she was one of the original ‘divas’, but putting herself ahead of Sable… and Sherri & Elizabeth? Too far. I don’t see Sunny in the HOF, and tbh, I don’t see her being inducted. She’s hardly a pioneer, she never wrestled in the WWE. More people have head of Sable than they have of Sunny

you totally changed my perspective on this =]
Wow, thanks for posting the links to my videos…lol Yes, Sunny is full of herself, and a very bitter self-absorbed person.
