The WWE certainly shook things up when they drafted Melina and Maryse to opposite brands – with them went their respective championships. Thus, a new record suddenly looms, and the race is on: who will be the WWE’s first ever double champion? We’ve taken possible candidates (former Womens Champions and Divas Champions) and calculated their odds, ordering them in rank of most likely to least likely. Over the following weeks we’ll be updating this chart, taking into account wins, losses, and budding feuds. Place your bets folks because it’s happening, and it’s happening soon.

Given the Odds… Beth stays at #3, still stuck in the rut known as Santina. This week, she even lost to “her” one-on-one, albeit by a roll-up. As long as Beth is nothing more than a punchline in the Santina storyline, her odds of becoming the first Double Champ aren’t getting any better. In fact, they may be going southward sooner rather than later.
Candice remains at #5, still injured. Until she makes her return, she’ll be setting up camp at this spot.
Gail lost to Michelle McCool twice, once teamed with Maria and the second time one-on-one. She stays at #4, with her string of losses and permanent SmackDown status making her odds at winning Raw’s Divas Championship highly unlikely.
Michelle has a friend in Alicia Fox, and with her has been victorious in both tag team action and singles action. Yet, with no Champ appearing on SmackDown yet, she slips to #2. With Melina‘s return looming on the horizon, will Alicia be Michelle’s good luck charm in a possible feud with the Women’s Champion?
Mickie jumps from #2 to #1, thanks to two weeks of wins over Maryse under her belt. First, she beat her in one-on-one action, then pinned the Divas Champion again in a tag team match. It looks like Mickie’s got Maryse’s number, and if she keeps this streak up, it’s looking highly likely that Mickie could become our first Double Champ.

I Dont Know Waht You Think But Is A Great Idea To Have A Divas Elimination Tag Match For The Two Championships(Women’s & Divas), To Change The Always One On One Match. Like Melina & Maryse And Two More Opponent,In My Opinion Kelly Kelly Deserve A Title Match Against Maryse, Thats Why I Hope See Her In That Match If It Make It True Because She Proves A Huge Change In Short Time(From The Cutie & Hot Dancer-To Beautiful WWE Diva & Powerfull In The Ring.
Right now my guess is on Mickie. It’s around this time every year that she gets the big push and wins a title. But thats just my guess.
Going off topic for a second…am I blind or was there just not a Raw Redux this week?
Maybe the storyline of Michelle-Alicia will answer Will Alicia be Michelle’s good luck charm in a possible feud with the Women’s Champion? Well, I’m excited to know who’s the double champion but I don’t certainly hope that was soon.

It looks like Mickie is set to win the Divas championship one of these days. Maybe they’ll give her a place in history as the longest raining diva’s champ, or the one who has a record number of title holds…?
While it looks like Mickie is going to pull it off first, my money is on Michelle. Mickie will most likely get a title shot on RAW next week but I don’t see her winning. WWE will probably drag the feud out for a month or so more before Mickie actually wins. Kinda like the Katie vs Mickie feud. Katie won 2 or 3 non title matches just to lose at a PPV. With Melina being in the doghouse allegedly, WWE might have her drop the title soon to Michelle. As much as want Mickie to be the first double champion, it doesn’t seem so likely.
i really hope mickie doesnt win the title yet….i wanna see a good feud between her and maryse before maryse loses her title im voting for michelle to be the first double champ…..but its between her and mickie….
As much as Mickie looks odds on favourite to win at the moment, I still think Michelle is gonna beat her to it. Maryse needs to establish herself on Raw, and I think the best way the WWE can do that is by having her beat arguably the most popular diva in the WWE today. Mickie is already well over with the fans and doesn’t need this win as much as Michelle, who could grow into a top heel feuding with the likes of Meina,Gail and Candice.
I hope Mickie beats Michelle to the punch and wins the Divas Championship. I think she deserves to be the first ever Double Champion more than Michelle. I mean come on Mickie works harder than Michelle . Mickie may be repeative at times but who cares she works her tail off. Then again I would like to see beth turn face and take the title from Mayrse. Then after a while Mickie turns heel and fueds with Beth and takes the title from her. either way is fine. But my Vote on the first Double Champion is Mickie James…!!!
I don’t see how Mickie has ‘worked harder than Michelle’. Sure, she’s been in the game longer, but since being called up, Mickie’s had largly the same move set and abilities. The WWE has already handed her FOUR women’s championship reigns, which means she’s tied with Lita and Moolah (although only in WWE’s eyes, as Moolah actually won it six times). Michelle, meanwhile, has trained her butt off and taken herself from being just that girl from the diva search to a more than competent wrestler. I think that’s working pretty damn hard personally. And I also think Michelle NEEDS it more than Mickie, so I’m hoping she’s the first.
Candice is still out injured so I doubt it’ll be her. It’s not going to be Gail Kim now that the divas title is on a different brand. Beth Phoenix is too busy feuding with ‘Santina’.

I’m pretty sure Michelle’s relationship with the Undertaker has played some part in her role with the company. We don’t like to admit it because she’s a darn good wrestler, but – I’m sure it has helped quite a bit. However, I do agree with you. Mickie James is gonna stay the most over female in WWE and knowing that has allowed her to get lazy at times ( not currently, but in the past ). She’s ALWAYS able to pull out good matches when motivated but still depends on the same four spots (top rope thesz press, mick-a-rana, flying clothesline, snapmare-baseball slide dropkick ). Michelle McCool, even with her multiple hospitalizations has worked hard in the ring to improve her ring skills and character ( hell, and even her photoshoots ). People can say what they will, but although her mic skills are still lacking, she has had MAJOR character growth in these last few years.
Besides… has anyone ever heard Candice on the mic? ‘Nuff said. Mickie is already a star. Candice’s is fading because of multiple injuries. I say McCool continue to be push solid to turn her into a ” company star ” like Trish Stratus was and how Mickie is gonna be.
Michelle McCool is the next Women’s Champion. Whether or not she beats Mickie in her quest for Divas gold, I’m unsure. The only way I see Mickie gaining Maryse’s title is through a heel turn. I don’t think Raw needs another stale, face Mickie James title run, and Maryse doesn’t need a face turn. It’s just that the girl was born to play a psycho, and that’s where she needs to be. Like ‘KatieLeaRocks’ said, Beth turns face, takes the title from Maryse, and psycho Mickie beats Beth.
Michelle McCool is so impressive. Her repertoire of maneuvers is amazing and growing each week. Does anyone else remember the dropkick McCool performed on Maria while she was hung up on the ropes? She’s always said she’s admired Molly Holly, and up until recently I had been afraid to compare the two; but she really is becoming a prominent, technical wrestler in the women’s division. The multiple variations of suplexes, corkscrew neckbreakers, and submissions are outstanding. The faithbreaker on Gail last week was absolute perfection. Whether any of her current push is due to her relationship w/ Taker or not, the girl’s being noticed. In a sea filled with new Smackdown diva draftees, she comes off as the top diva on Smackdown, ready to gain the title and plow through any newcomer who stands in her way. She seems unstoppable; while Mickie seems, well, stioppable.
