Tonight’s Judgment Day pay per view is yet another disappointing one for us Diva fans, marking the second consecutive pay per view that the Divas have been left off. In fact, 2009 thus far has been wholly disappointing in the pay per view stakes.
WrestleMania not withstanding, and let’s be honest, who’d want to count it… we have only received one Diva match on pay per view this year. That was five months ago when Melina defeated Beth Phoenix for the Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble.
In comparison to last year, the first five months of 2008 brought us three Divas matches at WrestleMania, Backlash and Judgment Day.
I guess pay per views are hit and miss and we can’t always expect a match, but thus far, the lack of Divas matches hasn’t excited me to watch these events. And I think that’s a market that WWE is missing out on. If we’re really honest, the only pay per view we are guaranteed a Divas match is at Night of Champions this summer.
What say you on the disappointing way that the pay per view calendar has unfolded this year?

It bothers me that there are not any Diva’s matches on PPV. I would like to see more done about the ready made storylines the WWE has aka. Gail Kim’s return, the chase to see who can be the first diva and women’s champion. They could easily do a buildup culminating at SummerSlam. At night of Champions they could do a Maryse vs Melina and follow that up with a # 1 contenters series with both titles being defended at Summerslam.
My gripe about the PPV’s in general though is that you have the same performers in them. That’s why Royal rumble & Wrestlemania are the only 2 PV’s I have bought this year.
I kinda understood why there wasnt any matches at Backlash but at the moment there are feuds brewing on both brands and I dont see why, the Maryse-Mickie feud in particular, hasn’t gotten a slot at Judgement Day. The only possible reason is that there will be 2 diva matches at the next ppv but seeing as the next ppv is Extreme Rules I dont see that happening. Its really disapointing cause I think Maryse needs a win over Mickie and Judgement Day could’ve been perfect for that.
I agree with litaker61 it would have been nice to see Mayrse pin mickie at judgement day retaining her title. Then they could carry out their fued until the next pPv. Maybe it could be a hardcore match or something or damn they could have had Melina vs Gail vs Michelle. At Extreme Rules there needs to be a Double Chmapionship Hardcore match in a chamber. First to start out is Mickie vs Mayrse then when that match is finished the Chambers open up and release the second set of divas to fight for teh womens title. Melina,michelle and gail. It sounds wierd but if u think about it it looks good
