This past weekend, FCW held another one of its weekly event for our Divas. After not having any Divas action on the FCW card last week, we were definitely treated to a great match this time around. The reigning Queen of FCW, Angela Fong, put her crown on the line against the third generation Diva, Natalya. In a weird turn of events, Beth Phoenix‘s intern, Rosa Mendes, was in the corner of Natalya (with matching outfits). Apparently Rosa’s infatuation with getting the crown off Angela continued, so she resorted to bringing Natalya in to hopefully dethrone the Queen. Check it out below:

Talk about impressive! I definitely think this match was Angela’s official “tryout” match if you will before she gets a call to ECW. This is definitely a feud I can see happening on ECW and it looks as though management wanted to test the waters to see how Angela works in the ring with the best of them, and who better than Natalya? I think Angela held her own and showed she is ready for the big leagues.
My major disappointment with this match was the ending. After almost 6 minutes of action, Rosa has to jump on the apron and cause a blatant disqualification? All this obsession over the crown is getting pretty stale, and it makes me wonder why in the world they don’t just turn this “crown” into a title belt?! At least Rosa would have a legitimate reason for being obsessed with getting the championship instead of that tacky plastic crown.
Technically speaking, this match really showed why Natalya is the most under-utilized Diva on the roster. Hopefully, her participation in the New Hart Foundation will allow her to get more presence in the ring, but I think as long as she’s on ECW with no other Divas, all she’s going to get is more TV time, not wrestling time. She didn’t blow my mind away with her offense, but she definitely impressed me. Like I said last Recap, Angela continues to improve in the ring. Her high-flying offense matches up with her Matrix-like defense, and I loved when Natalya got frustrated and started stomping in the ring; great qualities for a heel to have.
Natalya was truly showing why she is the powerhouse, veteran Diva. She worked Angela on the mat like a pro and has all of the technical moves down, especially the surfboard submission. Catching Angela off the turnbuckle and slamming her down in the Samoan Drop was definitely the big “Ouch!” moment of the match. Dusty Rhodes said it best, “What it comes down to is experience… and Natalya is beating the snot out of Angela.” I am glad the commentators spend the majority of the match time focusing on the Divas, unlike Raw or SmackDown where they are forced to continuously hype other matches or recap what’s already happened.
Just when the match was heating up with Angela’s high-flying tactics against Natalya’s strength, Rosa made her interference. Hopefully this match showed WWE that Angela can get the call up to ECW and hopefully develop a personality to match her in-ring skills! I’m thinking a rematch or a tag match next week to continue this rivalry… we’ll just have to wait and see!

Is there enough divas at FCW to be able to work a title successfully though?
I still don’t see what the big deal is with Rosa Mendes, when she was in OVW and i read she was the champion it sounded like she was impressive but so far on Raw and FCW i don’t see nothing special about her! Sorry if people disagree with that but i honestly can’t see Rosa havin a long run in wwe.
On a separate note, why does Tiffany need to wear ridiculous shoes and outfits to look like the GM of ECW, i see her taking a Miss Hancock approach and going quite sexy! It might even get her over more with the ECW crowd. I’,m enjoyin her as the GM though and hope she stays in that position for a while.
Reports had float that WWE will not sign Angela for Raw/SD!/ECW because she have the ‘Gail Kim’ factor.
I’m glad you posted this match because i really like it.
Especially because Natalya gets to show what she can do in the ring because god knows we never get to see it on WWE tv.
As for the ending of the match, i kind of expected it to be a DQ when the announcer said that it was for the FCW crown because you can’t have Natalya beating Angela for the crown and you can’t realistically she Angela being beat by Natalya unless it was a roll up. But i think it was just to further the hate between Rosa & Angela.
Really good match though, i look forward to Angela showing up on ECW in the NEAR future.
i agree with stephens61086 rosa hasnt really shown any good skills since debuting on fcw or raw cause to be honest the raw roster could do with out rosa and the twins…..
and its nice to see natalya in the ring again wonder who she well feud against on ecw since her and katie are heels…..
Completely agree, theres no point in having Rosa or the Bella twins. What Raw really needs is to get rid of them and bring Natalya and Katie Lea to Raw, now thats a show i’d love to watch.
I think Angela is soon going to debut. She has hair extensions and for some reason, usually that spells WWE Diva locker room.

“YAY ANGELA!” she really impressed me and has clearly picked up the concept of wrestling very well. I would like to see her on ECW as her and Tiffany make a great team. In FCW Id say Tiffany and Angela have made the most improvement.
Rosa has never made me wow, bt ive always put it down to, shes not supposed to look like a wrestler. she is a fan. so i will wait before passing my verdict on her.
The Bella Twins. As much as I love them, I do not know where wwe can take them. A feud is the most iinteresting thing. Picture this.
Brie Bella defeats Maryse for the DIvas Championship (on her own) one day just before a title defense herself and Nikki are backstage talking. Brie had recently taken a bad bump from say Jillian. It isn’t revealed what they are talking about and Brie comes out for her title defense. Now two things can happen here.
Scenario A – Brie loses and is then revealed to be Nikki as the real Brie comes out and berates her for losing. Brie turns heel by attacking Nikki, leading to feuds between the two.
Scenario B – Brie wins and gets on the mic to reveal herself as Nikki and decides that she is the rightful champion as she successfully won a match for the title. Technically she is correct and so the title is awarded to her. Brie comes out and disagrees and Nikki attacks. Nikki turns heel and the feud begins.
thats all i cn see for the The Bella Twins to be honest. Is there a forum or such for this site where you can post your own storylines and such and have people comment on them. I think that would be awesome and I’d love to hear what some people would like to see on WWE. I enjoyed reading the Wrestlemania Fantasy Face-Off.

The match was okay, nothing special, just okay imo. Is it just me, or is Rosa MUCH MORE charismatic in FCW than she is on RAW?
she’s a bit TOO outspoken. her screaming makes my ears want to bleed. she has to find the middle and use that on both raw and fcw… then again, she should really just focus on doing ANYTHING on raw besides walking around ringside.

I don’t know if I’m with you guys on this one. I’m usually a big Angela advocate, but she just didn’t do much for me in this match. She wasn’t botchy, just really slow and awkward at times. I do however, think Nattie did great in this match. I forgot how much I miss her wrestling. I would give Angela a little bit longer in FCW. Judging by this match, she’s greener than we all thought.
