Is Lilian Garcia Retiring?

In a sign that WWE’s longest serving non-Diva could be hanging up her microphone, WWE is looking for a new female ring announcer that can moonlight as a singer. Perhaps they are simply looking to replicate her 10-year success for SmackDown, ECW or Superstars or perhaps Lilian Garcia will be retiring from WWE. Well either that or they’re firing her.

WWE sent out the following breakdown for a new position with the company:

WWE Announcer/Singer / Female / All Ethnicities / 20 – 30

Description: WWE is looking for a young, attractive female to sing the national anthem and be our regular ring announcer every week, for one of our most popular TV shows (WWE is estimated to be seen in 500,000,000 households in 150 countries/30 languages)…

This is a breakout job for any young singer. Please specify on submissions if anyone has appeared on American Idol, making the Band or any show of this comparison.
Rate:depends on talent

So if anyone out there is 20 or over and can sing, this could be your chance! My guess is some wannabe from one of the “Pussycat Dolls Presents…” shows will snag the job.

Lilian has been with the company 10 years this year, she started in 1999 and has been a staple of Monday nights since. Among her highlights include releasing her debut album, a Spanish album called “Quiero Vivir” and then there’s that storyline with Viscera. And that time when Charlie Haas knocked her off the ring apron and she was left in agony on the floor for a good 10 minutes.

On the flipside, Lilian has been botching her announcing of late and rumour has it that Vince is already in a foul mood. Could be that he’s had enough? I hope not.

I hope Lillian doesn’t leave, she’s a Raw staple and it wouldn’t be the same without her

Lilian has been messing up lately but I hope she stays. I love Lilian! Not having her on Raw would be weird.
    I LOVE Lilian!!!

This would be a perfect way to bring back the Diva Search. Could help boost the Raw ratings too. They don’t even have to sex it up with bikini contests or obstacle courses. Have a singing competition and contestants could each announce a match during the show. Even bring in Jillian for a fake tryout.

Lilian will be hard to replace. She’s a fan favorite and synonymous with Raw. But it is strange how she’s been flubbing lines lately. Montreal Ontario?

Maybe she can finally get that singing career off the ground. Either way, best of luck to her!

this is soooo upsetting,It’s not Raw without lillian, she’s a veteran and also if I may add,the last Diva left from the last generation, the generation of chyna,Trish, and Lita.if lillian goes,it will truely be the end of an Era:(((((

This could be possibly for Smackdown as in the description it says ”for our one of most popular shows”

If it’s to replace Lilian Garcia then I guess it will leave Gail Kim as the only one from the old generation of WWE Divas

I hope Lillian doesn’t leave either Raw would not be the same without her. I can see them trying to find someone to do her role though on Smackdown-ECW. I can’t see them firing her though not with the hispanic audiance being such an important market. The fact that Lillian is bi lingual is an asset to them when they tour Mexico and South America.

I hope she doesn’t leave. Raw wouldn’t be the same without her. I’m still waiting for JR to come back to Raw.
