So this is what the parting of the red sea must feel like. Though not officially announced, the Wrestling Observer has announced that a Women’s Championship match is expected to take place at The Bash pay per view on June 28th.
The Bash will be the first Divas pay per view match since January [WrestleMania doesn't count], as Melina defends the Women’s Championship against Michelle McCool. Ironically, it was in the last Divas PPV match that Melina won the title against Beth Phoenix at the Royal Rumble.
It’s been a long drought folks, but our patience has paid off!And what a doozy is our first pay per view match back, I am totally checking for Melina and Michelle. As I revealed in my audio bulletin earlier this week, I was feeling confident that the Divas would get onto this pay per view card as WWE seem to be in a mad rush to book the event, as they haven’t left themselves much time in between the Extreme Rules pay per view and this one. Usually that leads to sloppy booking, but it works well for our Divas who this year have been disregarded from PPV events. I really hope Melina and Michelle get a good 10 minutes to slug it out, their work thus far has been great.
EDIT: As you can see from the image above, the match is now official and was announced on this week’s SmackDown.

great news Melanie…I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they get a good amount of time as you stated…there’s real potential between these two for a real slobberknocker of a match
Can’t wait!!! Its about time this match happened and im sure it will live up to the hype. Both girls are great in the ring and should put on one hell of a match. Kinda glad this got picked over Maryse/Mickie, its just been a better feud to watch. Really hope they get around 10 minutes because I know they could use it well.
Good call Melanie! As much as I want to see Mickie be the first ever double champ, I’m glad that this match made the card. Hopefully they get a good amount of time, but knowing WWE that may be asking too much.
i hope they get a good legnthy match…and i hope alicia doesnt cheat melina out of her title….i dont wanna see her drop the title yet cause since winning her title melina hasnt really done anything…..i wanna see her and gail kim for the title…
We’ll see, I guess, but John Cena and Edge don’t have matches announced yet, even though 5 matches have already been confirmed. I don’t really see them not having a match if they are healthly and ready to go, especially Cena.

I don’t know if this Divas match will make the card because of the 5 matches already announced, with Cena and Edge still to come as I don’t think they’d hold them off a PPV .
chrisP i think they’ll probably do a cena/show/miz match, and no clue with edge, cause he really has no fued right now, unless something happens with his match with morrison friday and they make a quick match for those 2.
but as for the divas match, i see melina winning this one, and then at night of champs both michelle and mickie walking out as new champs
Michelle wants to make history as the first woman to hold both belts. On a personal note she wants to win both titles for the first time at the (Great American) Bash.
Therefore next wekk she will defeat Gail Kim, Maria or Eve, will then be ambushed by Melina as a payback for this week. Thus Melina will look good going into the PPV, and loose – which would be typical WWE booking….
Mccool doesn’t deserve to have that honor.
Michelle doesn’t deserve to be the first woman to hold both titles,Michelle winning the womens title at all should be an honor for her but like always,Michelle wants more,what a selfish bitch,we all know michelle will be the next womens champion but she shouldn’t be the first woman to hold both titles

saritafan Michelle McCool is a character, therefor whenever she writes up those blogs talking about how she wants and deserves to be a double champion she is still in character. She’s a heel for crying out loud and to expect for her not to talk about becoming a double champion isn’t going to happen…she’s simply playing her role, and I give her kudos for at least playing that right because although Michelle’s character is getting better than how it was before I must say that she still doesn’t have the heel role down backed just yet. She’s a bitch, because that’s her characters gimmick and to say that Mickie doesn’t say it is because she is a babyface. Babyface’s don’t brag, and don’t talk about what they deserve which is why they are considered the good guys. It’s fake…the two are playing their roles and it will be interesting to see which one of the ladies become the first double champion first.

If Michelle wins not only will she be the first ever double title holder but she will also be the first diva to hold two different belts within a year. Remember last year she won the divas champ at great mariecan bash lets ee if she can do it this year!
i personally would like mickie to be the first belt holder she hasn’t made history whereas michelle already has (first holder of divas champ)
and personally mickie to me is the more successful of the both, she gives something back to wwe and the fans whereas michelle might but not a lot.
so imo mickie to be the first title holder of both championships. but we will have to wait and see until monday night raw.

michelle mccool is an excellent heel and a great wrestler. when she was a face, i wasn’t too much of a fan of hers but she has definitely become one of the best female wrestlers that wwe has right now.
if she doesn’t become the first diva to become both diva’s and women’s champion at the bash, i think it’s fine because it’s only a matter of time before she get’s the women’s championship anyway.
she deserves it 100%.
also, i think layla as a face is so lame, i hope this is all just an act as well.
