It is sad to report that Raw ring announcer, Lilian Garcia has announced that she will be leaving WWE later this year. Lilian, who first joined the WWE in 1999, will be leaving at the end of her current contract — hence why the company is looking for a new female ring announcer that can sing.
Lilian writes:
I hope all of you are doing well! I am writing to address the situation in which WWE is looking for a Female Ring Announcer/Singer. The truth of the matter is that they are looking for someone new because I have given them my notice that I will be leaving at the end of my contract this year. It is with a heavy heart that I have made this decision because WWE has been my family from day one and you, the WWE Universe have always been incredible to me. The fact is that I am getting married later this year and have decided to enter into a new phase of my life but I will truly miss all of you and the WWE tremendously.
While I never really considered Lilian a ‘Diva’, she has become such a staple of our Monday nights and is such a beautiful woman, amazing singer and a great professional. I’m definitely sad to see Lilian leave, but she has had a landmark run with the WWE – 10 years this year! Like Trish Stratus before her, she will be leaving in order to get married and move on with her life.
Lilian’s departure follows in the footsteps of Vickie Guerrero and the release of Candice. However I feel this goodbye will hit fans the hardest. Our best wishes to Lilian — you truly were the voice of the WWE!
In honour of this news, how about we share some of our favourite Lilian moments? For me, one of the most heartbreaking moments was at the end of Trish’s last match at Unforgiven 2006, when she and Lilian were crying and pointing at each other; it was so emotional and brought a tear to my eye too.

I will miss her so much :( and Im very concerned for the next ring announcer, Ive got a feeling Im going to hate her :( I hope not :P
Shes a great ring anouncer, she has a great voice (although I hate her music) and she has a great amount of charisma :), I never thought she was diva material, I wouldn’t imagine her in a divas angle/storyline but I loved to hear a females voice introducing the divas :) It’s a big deal :)
LILIAN, I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST :D
Oh my god. :O
I’m gunna’ miss her so much. :(
RAW shall not be the same without her in the ring.
She has a great voice and is a great ring announcer.
Even though she wasn’t a Diva, she was still a big part of the Raw womans section.
I am going to miss her
But, i wish her the best of luck. :D
That is VERY shocking! I’m going to miss her!!!
I considered Lilian as the last thing we had left from the good old days in Womens wrestling with Trish, Lita, Victoria, Torrie etc.
Melanie that is my favorite moment too!!
Genuinelly sad. Lillian may not have been a wrestler, but she was from the days when female wrestling was at it’s peak, and as cheesey as it’s sounds, she is a diva.
I’d love to see her in the Hall of Fame someday, as her voice is so synomous with Monday Nights.
Lilian in the Hall Of Fame :O that would be awesome :D
I have to be really honest, I’ve never in the past thought of Lilian’s name in connection to the Hall of Fame. But now you’ve brought it up, yes I do see it happening in future and she would deserve it if it did happen :)
Congrats to her. I don’t particularly like her, she’s just an announcer for me lol. I hope she has a happy post-WWE life though. :)
Thank you Lilian on an amazing career in WWE. I wish her a happy life outside WWE, which is something I know she will have.
The Trish/Lilian moment from Unforgiven 2006 is one that will remain in my mind forever. We’re gonna miss ya, Lilian!
Awwww no am totally gutted like, Raw WILL NOT BE THE SAME without her. Though i did have a feeling after i heard that she was leaving when WWE announoed they were looking for a new female ring announcer. I know she was only a ring announer but i hope she gets a half decent send off unlike what Victoria and Lita got. Yeah i hope she is put in the Hall of Fame along with Trish and Lita.
WISH U ALL THE BEST LILLIAN!
I’ve always considered Lilian a Diva. If Sunny can be the self-proclaimed ’1st ever Diva,’ then surely, Lilian could be one as well. She embodied a signficant contribution to the WWE, and I can’t imagine RAW without her. Whoever succeeds her has HUGE shoes to fill. Let’s just hope WWE doesn’t try to pull a fast one on us and have Jillian Hall try to take her place. Ha, at least that would explain her recent absence. :D
They are grooming Angela Fong to take her place.
I’m going to miss Lilian and I wish her the best
I remember that time in 2004 during a match with Trish Stratus and Jackie Gayda at the end of their B&P match when Jackie was mad she didn’t win the match then she tried to start a catfight with Lilian then Jackie rips Lilian’s top as Lilian fought back.
Since Lilian is leaving, this will make Gail Kim as the only one left from the old generation of WWE Divas along with a vast majority of new arrivals
I Personally am a little weary abut this. If in fact Angela does take over the RAW brand for Lilian because she is trained to wrestle I fear we could be seeing way to many announcer vs wrestler feuds. I think if they did it once where a wrestler bullied her and she fought back it would be a good way to introduce her but I dont want to see her going back and forth so hopefully they make up their minds on this.
Lilian is and will always be the voice of Raw, it wont’ be the same without her. Yes all she did was announce, but she was a constant presence for the last 10 years. No matter what changes were made to the roster, no matter who came and went, Lillian was always there to announce things. I will miss her because I really liked hearing and seeing her each Monday night. Just think of the stories she could tell if she decides to do an interview. She announced nearly every WWE monday night Raw, PPV’s fueds etc over the last 10 years. She saw them all.
