In a blog at her GoDaddy.com page, Candice Michelle uses an interesting choice of words to describe her release from WWE, including that she’s “free from the ring.” And for those of you who have wondered whether Candice may perhaps in TNA or even go the indy route (and let’s be honest, can you really imagine Candice doing the indies?) she puts a proverbial full stop on her wrestling career by saying, “… my five years of wrestling” which suggests, as we all expected, her wrestling career is over:
In case you weren’t aware, I recently parted ways with the WWE, but I’m ready to take off on exciting new adventures. All the WWE executives, divas and superstars were awesome during my five years of wrestling.
Now that I’m free from the ring, I have time to spread my wings. I’ve just joined the Los Angeles Youth Network as an Ambassador, and am ready to begin working with LAYN and the homeless kids living on the streets of LA. I’ve also recently returned from a leadership seminar in San Francisco and have never felt so alive!
I’ve made it abundantly clear that I’m not a fan of Candice, and this just proves why. The connotations of “free from the ring” are negative, it suggests that being in the wrestling industry ‘tied her down’, it’s not a positive phrase at all. To me, it shows that she is not at all passionate about wrestling as she so often made out in her nauseating WWE Universe blogs about how hard she was working and how much it meant to her.
Well look at her now — with the comfort of being a WWE Superstar taken away from her, the girl has called a day on wrestling altogether. If she was as passionate about the industry as she claims she was, she would do anything to be part of it by doing independents and putting out feelers in TNA.
I have stuck up for Candice, I don’t agree with the below-the-belt comments about her looks being part of why she was released; but this to me, shows her true colours and justifies just why I could never be a Candice fan. I have always sensed a falseness to her.
I think this just goes to show the main problem with hiring models and training them to wrestle, once the comfort of WWE is pulled away from underneath them, they can’t stand the heat of what it really means to be a wrestler; doing independent shows, trekking up and down the country and really paying their dues in the way the likes of Mickie, Jillian, Melina, Beth, Natalya and Gail have. And I don’t think it’ll just be Candice, I think the same can be said for Divas like Maria and others, who I doubt will be willing to ‘slum it’ once their time in WWE is up.

The WWE world is very complex and hard to understand :P
I think that they did a great choice by firing Candice. Like Melanie, I never saw that passion, that in ring charisma or that “young woman living her dream” thing about Candice. Unlike Melina, even when she was heel, Melina couldn’t hide her passion for her job, same with Mickie, Jillian, Gail, Victoria, Natalya, Beth…
Some “divas” won’t last enough with the WWE, there are the ones that are living their dreams, and there are the ones that are on WWE to be famous and to see if they can start an acting carreer or somethin like that (Maria!!!!)
I wish Candice good luck, but Im really glad that she was “banned” from WWE :)
I think WWE did make he right decision by releasing her, and that shows as she does use phrases like “free from the ring”, as if it’s just a huge relief to be gone from WWE. But, she really never did come off as passionate, I guess. She never had that certain spark about her. And, I guess that’s why. That statement makes it sound as if it was a burden for her to be there of something. I just love though, how she said all of these wonderful things on her final blog at WWE Universe, but here she says she’s “free”.
I agree hugely with what PedroPedroso17 said. Even when the others are heel, you can’t help but to see that spark and all of their passion, and that they are genuinely happy and excited to be there.
Glad they finally got rid of her ass. Those “Playboy covergirls” have a curse! Maria just may be next.
While I agree with the assesment that Candice didn’t love wrestling, I do have to give her credit for her admirable choice of post wrestling activities. Working with homeless kids is terrific.
yeh when i saw the blog i thought “melanie will have a field day!” lol
totally disagree with this at all, i agree vey negative connotations with her choice of words. ive lost some respect for her in tht sense bt her career choice after wrestling as gained alot of respect also
Candice saying “Free from the ring” sounds like WWE brang her down. Wonder why that was? … I lost respect in her because I thought Oh Ok then, make your rise to fame look like nothing Be grateful Candice, without WWE you will be a no one!
But then again Candice could be saying this to slam WWE cuz they got rif of her due to her apperance… :/
I hope that she’s beeing honest about her post-wrestling activities, Im sure she’s beeing honest, but you’ll never know…
I think Ashley is the only ex Diva who lies about her activities.
Agreed with Lee, nice to see her do some charity work. I may not like her but you can’t knock that!
Candice seems to have other commitments for now. I don’t think she would’ve went through so many injuries, come back and stay in high spirits about getting back to the top if she didn’t care for the business. I don’t think she would’ve trained as hard as she did and worked so many house shows, etc and spend so much time away from family and friends if she didn’t care for the business.
Candice has had a bad year and a half in the ring, with all the injuries, etc it has to be hard to want to continue wrestling and putting your body on the line like that. She did alot in 5 years, became champion, had a huge feud with Beth, one with Melina and many others.
I think it’s best if she tries to do something else for now. I doubt TNA Has even approached her yet, since her 90 day clause won’t expire until September and that’s when they usually approach you about joining.
It doesn’t mean she’ll never wrestle again. I think she’s saying just for now, but I could be wrong. I think it’s best jsut to wait and see what she does. She has a ton of friends in the wrestling business who could persuade her to join TNA or whatever but the next 81 days, wrestling pretty much for anyone won’t be happening either way.
Ever known someone who got dumped, but afterwards tried to pretend like the break-up was mutual? That’s the impression I get with Candice’s departure from WWE.
