The WWE Divas were on display in Florida Championship Wrestling last night. After a couple of Diva-less weeks, FCW gets back into it’s stride pitting RAW Diva Rosa Mendes and SmackDown Diva Layla (pre-frizz)Â against Smackdown Diva Alicia Fox and Angela Fong. Sounds good, right? Yeah…, not so much. Watch the match below to see what I mean:
Before I get into the match itself, just a small note. Why does FCW keep missing the memo when it comes to Alicia? When she was a face in WWE, FCW was booking her as a heel and now that she’s a heel, they’re booking her as a face. So ass backwards. Weren’t there any babyfaces available? Throw one of the Bellas in there; it’s not like their WWE schedule is jam packed. Anyway, onto the match.
Unfortunately, this match starts off on a sour note and rides it all the way to the pinfall. Alicia and Rosa starts things off with some basic chain wrestling. Whilst running the ropes, Rosa manages to trip over Alicia. Yes, you read that right. Rosa trips over Alicia *sigh*. The ensuing confusion leads to a very weird takedown by Alicia. Both Divas manage to get the tag, and Angela hits a awkward ‘rana on Layla and tags to Alicia. Alicia with a kick to the gut and her patented Axe Kick. Alicia hits the ropes and Rosa misses her spot (C’mon Rosa! Really?!) to pull Alicia’s hair, so it has to be repeated (awkwardly, might I add).
The heels take control and Layla applies a submission, followed by a snapmare into a dropkick for a nearfall. Rosa tags back in, and goes to work on Alicia. A very ineffective looking submission by Rosa, which (thankfully) is quickly relinquished. Alicia hits a spin kick, which is sadly the best spot in this match, and tags in her partner. Fast forward through the usual ‘Hot Tag Flurry’, Angela sets up the Saki Bomb, but is distracted by Layla. Rosa takes mercy on us and rolls Angela up for the win.
The best part in this match was when it ended, and Layla makes Tiffany give her Angela’s crown (Give it to me! Give it to me! Thank you! SCREW YOU! Lol.) and gives it to Rosa. Angela attacks Rosa, jumping on the dropkick-through-the-ropes bandwagon and takes back her crown.
I usually sing the praises of the FCW Divas, but this match was really bad – possibly the worst I’ve on FCW. I don’t anything great to say about any of these girls, but Rosa is on my s**t-list. I said before that I think Rosa is hesitant, but after this match, my mind is officially changed. Sloppiness, missed spots and botching? Sadness. Rosa really needs to go back to FCW full time. I don’t know what motivated WWE to give her the call-up, but if they watched this match surely they’re having second thoughts.
If this match has done one good thing, it has motivated me to start a ‘Send Rosa Mendes back to FCW’ petition. Anyone else with me? Thoughts in the comments please.

So much second hand embarassment, seriously. I had to a double take… I can’t believe Rosa tripped over Alicia.
Rosa is useless, shes slow and botches. WWE hand her the pink slip and give Angela the spot she deserves.
Oh my…Angela’s first televised loss. Rosa needs to get back into training asap. First she trips over Alicia, then eats Fox poom when she failed to duck under Alicia’s air split. How she won the OVW Women’s title…I have noo effing clue.
On a side note, was the Mixed tag match between Angela and Johnny Prime vs Beverly and Dylan Klein covered? That match was pretty good in comparison to this train wreck.
i think they should just take rosa off the main roster keep her training and while their at it have maria join her shrink the divas roaster so u can actually build them up as maint event divas…..this match was really sad
The match wasn’t at all good but I think Alicia Fox and Layla we’re scrambling to work with what they had. I think Layla played her gimmick to the T; I think alicia’s gimmick is a little confusing right now IMO.

Angela needs to be brought up to the main roster, and NOT as a bloody announcer. Rosa needs to watch herself, because that was almost some Jackie Gayda- level botching right there.
BUWAHAHAHAHA!!! I’m sorry that was just too funny. What did the WWE see in her?? I’ve never been a big fan of hers and this just proves my point. Seriously. What is going on with Rosa? Anyways I love Layla’s character, she’s hilarious as a heel and I really swear Tiffany was just a bit scared of her.
BTW – I completely agree Steven, they should send Rosa back to FCW at the very least.
rosa is such a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE wrestler. she needs to be taken off live television ASAP or off the main roster. her performance is pitiful. ashley wrestled better in her first match than rosa in this match or the match on tonight’s RAW.

Layla is ALWAYS entertaining. Rosa is just a god awful wrestler and shouldnt have been around for this long, let alone be wrestling on RAW
NO NO NO….Got DAMNN! Does Milena Roucka (when my mother yells at me like this it’s because she loves me lol ANTM reference) even care about her job?!!? I mean it’s one thing to worry that you work a match well on Live T.V. but to mess up in FCW? The Hell ….DEMOTED!
Anyways LEARN FROM THIS LOL. I feel so bad for Angela and other girls, having to work a match with a girl whose clearly out of excuses as to why she can’t get her shit together in a match. By the way I agree Angela is Very deserving of a Spot on the main roster she did really well this match just imagine had she worked the match with someone whose actually a good worker.
NO NO NO NO NO!! GAIL KIM CANNOT GO TO RAW!!!!! NOOOOOO. SD is the place to be for Diva’s action. I wanted her to feud with Michelle McCool for the Women’s Title!!! Now she has to sit on the sidelines and be pushed aside on Raw for Kelly Kelly and Mickie James?!

terrible terrible terrible match. this is seriously by far the worst match. angela tries hyping the crowd but gets NO reaction whatsoever. i cant get over how terrible this match was. rosa does indeed need to go back to FCW spare us from her before she makes a botch as bad as that on Live TV. Poor poor Alicia could not even carry the match it was so bad. I was glad to see Layla though, even if she did not do that much.
Layla did well in my opinion, Alicia was average, Angela was so-so and Rosa…Man, I love Milena Roucka, but in this match OMG, she was soooooooooooo bad, she had much better matches on RAW than this…thing.
Layla is now my new favourite diva, since Jillian dissapeared completly :(
I agree with Steven here, Rosa is terrible how did she get the call up whens shes so botchy? perhaps her look? or there needed to be another Latina diva on tv? anyway shes very botchy, she needs to keep training, I did like her submission moves though, maybe she should focus on them and practice her flow/selling of moves. Did anyone see Raw? she was terrible!

Personally i like Rosa Mendes, and though she botched in this match i still feel she has the right persona for wwe, also i still feel she covered it up well, and to be fair the trip wasn’t just Rosa fault as she was already running and Alicia turned to slow so her shoulder was up in the air which Rosa tripped on. But i kind of this Diva-Dirt is kind of bias towards Alicia as you seem to like her (which i also do) but you also don’t like Rosa and you show this in ALL of your posts. Rosa also looked very good on Raw getting rid of the trousers and wearing that wonderful new top but i must say looked amazing;
