I gotta be honest, I didn’t think much would come of the Bella Twins’ move to ECW. I expected it would be their restover on the plane to Releaseville, but last night’s show actually booked the Bellas in a way that set up a future storyline. I’m sure we remember their brief feud before WrestleMania that was dropped abruptly with a WWE.com video explaining that they’d ‘made up’. Well it looks like we could get a full blown feud between Brie and Nikki on their new home of ECW:

This was a really fun segment, I can’t deny it. I was laughing hard when ECW newcomer, Abraham Washington commented on their hair insisting it must be a weave. Weaves and extensions are one of the fun things we at Diva Dirt like to gossip about, in fact we spent a lot of our live blog this past Sunday talking about different Diva weaves haha. This guy has got some swagger, the jokes about a horse running around bald were hilarious — I refuse to believe that came from the minds of the Creative Team.

Meanwhile the subtle bickering between the twins was also fun. Who knew that these two had mic skills? They came across really well on the microphone and showed more charisma in one segment that they’ve shown since they started on SmackDown last year. And for once, isn’t it a nice change to have Divas who can talk without sounding like shrieking banshees? Seriously, most Diva promos make me cringe including Tiffany’s promo last night.

I really enjoyed the segment and was pleasantly surprised by these two. Seriously, who knew?! Now if this turns into a wrestling feud, that’s a whole ‘nother matter…

It does make me wonder though, why doesn’t WWE try and book them in a speaking role? Maybe as managers where they could be the mouthpiece to someone?

  1. I was pleasantly surprise just like you Melanie…good segment…now get these two back on opposite sides in a feud, Washington’s funny…lots of presence and charisma, looking forward to how things develop…..sounds like they got a new theme to go along with the tron. While i agree with you they’d make great managers because they can cut a good promo and have great speaking voices, WWE just doesn’t believe in managers on a large scale anymore…much like they don’t believe in many things that used to make the product great

  2. I thought it was interesting, lol That Abraham guy has a lot of character to him. OMG i gag every time Tiffany talks..like girl don’t you know that forced tone does nothing but make people understand why you still get stuck doing FCW announcing duties. lol she ought to take acting tips from her boyfriend Alfonso.

  3. What sucked was that the crowd didn’t even give Abraham a chance. They predetermined to heat on him no matter what. Kind of dampered on the segment a bit. But he kept his composure and interacted really well with the twins.

Anyway, the Bellas were great. Looked unbelievable. Having them on the first night after mini-draft is a good sign they won’t be immediately buried. Hopefully they’ll be used in some capacity. The writers should have freedom to do whatever the want with the ECW roster gutted and replaced with FCW newbies.

  4. Read that Paul Burchill’s brother died, so he’s been on leave of absence. That’s the likely reason we haven’t seen him or Katie Lea on tv in a while. Even those Katie Lea isn’t really related to Paul, from a storyline perspective there’s no reason to have her on if he isn’t.

  5. I LOVE ABRAHAM WASHINGTON. he’s hilarious. and the Bellas worked the whole ‘bickering sisters’ angle really well.

  6. aww sisterly love! i wonder if they are like this in real life like competetive and always bickering LOL

  7. I didn’t like it, mostly because it went on waaaaaaaaay too long to just cover basically what the announcers cover and something that could have been done in just a few minutes. This segment really didn’t need 10 mins and it felt like a chore to sit though for me.

I have to agree though, I didn’t know the Bellas were that good. They’re not great on the mic, but better than the average diva. And I also agree that it’s so refreshing to hear divas with a lower voice. Most of the diva’s voices just grate me the wrong way. >_<

  8. I thought I was going to lose it when he started talking about weaves! And, that first question: “Have you always looked alike?” You can tell that some of this stuff is totally ad lib, too. This guy is funny and I am excited to see where this goes with the Bellas. I hate that the fans there didn’t give the guy a chance, though.

  9. The segment as a whole was lame, but the bella twins made it more interesting, they do have good mike skills. I rofl’d at the sentence with “shrieking banshees”. Anyway tiffany isnt too good on the mike but she is improving, her voice is just ugh.
