It’s unanimous that the ‘Trump Trade’ two weeks ago helped beef up Monday Night Raw, gaining the services of two Diva Dirt favourites, Alicia Fox and Gail Kim. Meanwhile, it’s becoming clearly evident that SmackDown is now suffering due to the lack of Divas available — case in point, we pretty much saw the same tag team match two weeks in a row with just one line-up change [Eve for Maria on yesterday's show]. Make no mistake though, I’m not knocking our blue-brand girls, they are definitely making the best of a bad situation; the work continues to be of a consistent standard.
It’s clear to me that the division is soon going to run out of match options considering the five active Divas it has — there’s only so many times we can see the same matches, right? I think it’s time WWE did something about that before the division starts to suffer — a kayfabe ‘Diva exchange’ between SmackDown and ECW. It shouldn’t be too hard to explain on television either, after all ECW GM Tiffany is the protege of SmackDown’s GM, Teddy Long, they are on friendly terms. Plus as a female GM, would Tiffany not want her Divas to be able to compete for a title? It’s win-win all around.
The ECW Divas – the Bella Twins and Katie Lea – can work matches on SmackDown, allowing fresh match opportunities. Plus they’d effectively have the chance to compete for the Women’s Championship, creating for more title storylines i.e. Katie Lea in the title picture.
With SmackDown and ECW working together, the combined division would be a little more evened out: Babyfaces led by Melina would include Maria, Eve and the Bella Twins. The heels led by Michelle McCool, would include Layla, Katie Lea and eventually Natalya.
Plus there’s some prime cuts of meat in FCW that could more than handle themselves on SmackDown, for example veteran Serena Deeb [who really doesn't need to be in developmental, let's be honest] and ‘homegrown’ talent, Angela Fong.
What do you think, should SmackDown and ECW once again exchange talents — even if limited to the Divas?

To be honest, I don’t think the answer is to move Divas from ECW, especially as it seems to be in the best position possible to create some sort of division, and therefore competition, for its female competitors.
So why deprive ECW of the oppurtunity to create a women’s division when there are many women on the RAW brand who could be shipped over to SmackDown to spice up their already lively division and create a proper chase for the title?
WWE is in a great position to send Beth over to SD, under the guise of her being sick of the lack of compeition on RAW, she realises where the real competition is. Similarly, Jillian Hall is one of the best workers the WWE has at their disposal right now and, in my opinion, she criminaly underused considering she is far superior to Rosa Mendes and the Diva’s Champion Maryse. Jillian has the potential to be on par with Mickie James and Melina; and anybody who has watched her OVW matches will undeniably see that.
So, the solution seems simple. Leave ECW to prosper and allow Katie Lea, and to an extent the Bellas, a chance to shine. And ship a fraction of the RAW brand over to SmackDown.

I think you misread, I wasn’t suggesting they move the ECW Divas to SmackDown. I was suggesting a talent exchange between the two brands, similar to the one they had last year, where the Divas get to appear on both brands.

Oh, okay, yeah I defintely misunderstood.
Sorry about that.
Yeah, i guess you makes a lot of sense with the suggestion, considering there are a relatively small number of women in ECW, especially in comparison to SD and Raw.
I still like the idea of moving some the Raw talent about, though

i think jillian can easily be moved to smackdown, she hasnt been on raw in quite some time, and she can just sort of pop up on smackdown, with no explanation similar to how kelly sort of just appeared on raw last year, or they could even just be like “oh hey, i came to help out melina, we’re like best friends!” (cause they sort of are in real life you know?)

I think thats a nice Idea. The Sd divas ca have matches on ECW and ECW divas can have some matches on SD.
Maybe when Jillian returns she goes to SD as a face & B comes best friends with melina again.

Then again I would also Luv for Katie to Deliver her Neck Breaker to Michelle and win the title. Then we can see a Katie & Melina fued but that wont happen.

I like the idea a lot, but I don’t see it happening. However, I think that everyone will agree that Jillian Hall needs to be switched back over to Smackdown. In my personal opinion, she should have never left Smackdown to begin with…. she was doing such a good job on Smackdown, even though she had been jobbing somewhat to Ashley. Ugh, but Jillian did a better job on Smackdown – I feel the same way about Maryse, who I personally think should have stayed on Smackdown too. But, my opinion doesn’t mean anything to the WWE. Hah, they could careless about my opinion, however I do like the idea of bringing talent like Katie Lea and maybe even the general manager, Tiffany to Smackdown for a few matches…

i think thats a great idea too. I also think since ECW has it’s new talent initiative it would be cool to see them bring in a new diva from FCW to spice up the division. It shouldn’t just be limited to the guys!
July 12, 2009 at 5:48 am
It certainly wouldn’t hurt. Katie Lea needs more ring time.
July 12, 2009 at 6:07 am
If they will have an alliance, well, that’s great.
I have a suggestion, I certainly wish that ECW is now the brand that is welcoming other brand’s superstars.
In that particular situation, Katie and The Bellas now can have a match with other divas, as well as Smackdown.
She deserves it. Katie Lea is such a great diva. I thought, by the way, she will beat Mickie.
I visioned that Katie won’t be released. She will continue her witchy-witch attitude, I hope.
Bellas and Katie should have many chances! And Raw, I think is fulled. Bring Alicia back on SD!
THE BEST THING TO DO IS TO DROP THAT wwe SUPERSTARS SHOW.
WWE has too many shows! What is the purpose of that draft on that show?
July 12, 2009 at 9:53 am
Why would they drop WWE Superstars? It’s beneficial because it lets all three brands showcase their lesser used talent in matches that doesn’t always need to be storyline related. That includes the Divas.
There’s little reason to loan talent. Not enough time on ECW to have a Divas match every week. The show is only there to get talent ready for Raw & SD. It will screw up the brand separation, storylines running into another show, and SD Divas fighting in an ECW decorated ring. There’s probably no plans for the Bellas or Katie Lea this year anyway, which is why they’re in ECW.
Until she’s actually in SD, people need to stop dreaming about Katie Lea being on SD to compete for a title. It’s not happening. If anything, hope for one of the new signees to get on ECW and start a program with her.

I definatly think a talent exchange would help Katie-Lea, cos she would probably 2nd/3rd heel behind Michelle, seeing as the heels are lacking. I can see some of the development divas coming up to Smackdown, like Serena, or even Angela now that Gail’s on Raw.

Anything that gets Katie Lea in a title picture is good for me haha.
