I also think Eve is over-rated!!! oh…she has improved. But her in-ring skills are nothing special just like Maryse!!! I can see Eve being a top diva, but not now. Natalya, Jillian Hall, Gail Kim and Katie Lea are so underrated, and they are for sure top diva material. Eve is new and fresh. I would hate 2 see Eve win the Womens championship so soon, just like Candice Michelle did, she was a lousy wrestler, yet she seem 2 be “improving”. Her title reign was a joke, so will Eve’s if she wins!!!

Not a big fan of Eve, but she’s definitely coming into her own. I dread the thought of a McCool/Eve feud though. :( Heel Melina could make it work because she’s so convincing against the Diva Searches etc, but McCool doesn’t have the flair and ability as a heel needed to hide Eve’s obvious weaknesses. It’s logical though, I guess. They’re not going to take the title off McCool so quickly, meaning that Melina/Natalya is off the cards for now…well, as a title feud anyhow. Perhaps Melina & Morrison vs. The Heart Foundation? :D

hey, great post. personally, i think eve is excellent. i really like her. i thought she was good at her backstage interviewing and i’m pleasantly surprised with how well her in ring skills have developed. i also think she has a great look – arguably the most naturally pretty diva on the roster. I like the fact that she’s curvacious and doesn’t have a stick thin waist like maryse, maria, michelle and many of the others. it makes them look frail. i know some people criticise it, but i think her ring attire is great too. far less garish and tacky than a lot of other divas, it’s definitely unique. as for the hangspring moonsault – a contender for best finisher in the divas division already!

I really like this post, Melanie, good job!
I’ve grown to like Eve. At first, I did think ‘oh great, another diva search winner trying to make it as a wrestler’, but Eve seems to have taken everything onboard and become one of the quickest diva learners. Sure, she’s no womens champion yet but if you give her time, she could improve. Her handspring moonsault is awesome and everygreat diva needs a good finisher.
Until the mini-draft, I thought that Gail would be the next womens champion after Michelle, but with the lack of divas on Smackdown, I can definitely see Eve being a possible number one contender. Melina can’t be the no1 contender forever, and I strongly doubt that they’ll book Michelle against a heel, and seeing as Maria has slipped into a valet/filler role, I think Eve is the frontrunner.

I still think she’s overrated, but that doesn’t mean she’s bad AT ALL.
It’s just that people in internet seem to love her so much, some say she’s a lot better than Alicia and Layla and I disagree with that. I like her, I truly do, It’s just that, I want to see her “improvement”, and I never had a chance.
She has a great finisher, she looks good doing it, but what she’s lacking is something that Layla, Alicia and in my opinon even Rosa has, it’s called in-ring charisma. In my humble opinion, some divas look comfortable in the ring, Rosa for example, she lacks A LOT of in-rin skills and power, but she looks comfortable inside the ring and she looks like she loves what she does, same with Layla, Alicia, Natalya, Beth…
Eve, for me, looks terribly uncomfortable in the ring at times, she botches sometimes (not as much as Rosa) and she lacks in-ring charisma, I hope it isn’t her gimmick. For me, Eve killed it with the Natalya V.S. Eve match, not even Nattie could make it look great, it was less than average and it had the worse move in the WWE Divas department in 2009, Eve’s weird-looking headlock.

Melanie – I agree one-hundred percent with your blog about Miss Eve Torres.

At first I put Eve into the same category as Ashley. Yes, she had a lot of fans, however she lacked the one thing needed inorder to have people like me behind her and that was talent in the ring. I remember watching Eve on my television screen sometimes and becoming pissed off that the WWE would even put un-talented Divas like Eve in matches at all. However, since feuding with Layla (ever since the dance-off) I have become a huge Eve fan. She’s talented, she has good charisma, and I definitely think that Eve has a future in the company. She’s refreshing to watch on television now and I don’t just say that because she’s done her handspring moonsault, I say that because she’s gotten a lot less sloppy in the ring and that’s impressive for a Diva Search winner. Remind you, most people when thinking about Diva Search winners think about Ashley and how she had a lot of support, but she was horrible in the ring. But Eve’s like the total opposite in the talent department. She wasn’t shoved to the lime light and I’m happy that she wasn’t shoved into the lime light because chances are we’d all hate her for being un-talented, let’s face it she was un-talented at first, and she’s blossomed into an overall decent wrestler. Do I think she’s GREAT!? No. Eve has along way to go – that botched move she did in her Natalya versus Eve match-up, however she’s leaning and getting better in what would take some years, but only takes her weeks.

^ I don’t think that Eve is overrated at all.
She is just getting the props that she rightfully deserves, obviously she is making great progress and the fans have noticed that.

I don’t see how shes “overrated ” TBH You sound like your trying to underrate her. I know shes not the best,but shes worked her ass off for the past year to get to where shes at. The fans are simply acknowledging her improvements not overrating her.

I love this post!!
First of all, this shows how overrated Eve is. Like Maryse, when she started, I liked her, but when everyone started to love her, the internet was filled with Maryse-Fans and that is kind of annoying because, she is a average/good diva with good in-ring skills and awesome charisma but, like Eve, is she that good?!
I liked Eve when she started against Michelle, her first match wasn’t bad and she showed charisma and average in-ring ability. By her third match (against Maryse, I believe) I thought she really wasn’t that good, but was improving quickly. With the Layla-Eve feud, I started to think she really wasn’t nothing special, Layla had much more in-ring skills and much more charisma. At the moment, I continue to kind of like Eve, she’s beautiful, her moveset is different and her in-ring skills are average. But I think that people are overreacting SOOOOOO much, she really isn’t top diva material (I do think she’s going to be top diva on WWE), people seem to love her badly, and I obviously tend to disagree with almost everyone. I can imagine her as champion, but the one that DESERVES the gold is Natalya Neidhart, or even Layla.
Right now, I would make Melina lose at NOC and after that bring Serena to the roster, make her feud with McCool until she wins the championship. Than, have Natalya feud with Serena. THAT, I’d love to see.

Melanie, you’re amazing! I love the post and I agree 100%. Totally love the post, please keep them coming!
I’ve always liked Eve. I think that she has the potential to become one of the best divas on SD. I feel as if her improvements over the past few months have exceeded those of her fellow diva search girls turned divas. I’m glad that she took the time to train and wasn’t pushed to wrestle as soon as she won DS 07.
And that finisher of hers?!? So cool!

i was rooting for her the whole time lol
and when she started wrestling i was glad that she being paid of for her work.

I agree with everything u said Melanie. I always rooted for Eve to win the Diva Search because Brooke seemed like an conceited bitch who just wanted fame. Ever sense she did that moonsault on Layla everyone had their eye on her. I like Eve because she loves sports and never really looked like the model type even though she is beautiful. If she works on not getting tired so much then she will do fine. She seems more muscular then the other Diva Search girls also so she should try powerhouse moves too, I just wish her the best.

great post! i love it, and completely agree, but one other thing about her is her charisma, and ability to pull off a promo, or backstage segment, something many divas lack in. it does seem logical for her to be michelles next foe, because there really is no one else, i mean maria’s with dolph, and possibly might get a heel turn, layla is on the fence right now between heel and face, and if maria turns heel then layla will probably be face, and natties with the dynasty and until they’re in a title program for the tag belts i dont see her going for the womans title.
oh and an idea for next week if you so this again, how bout exploring the possiblity of what could happen if the introduced a divas tag championship? imagine the pairings they could get: gail/melina, jillian/katie, it could be wonderful and actually give the numerous tag matches actual meaning!!

Well, personally i love Eve, i voted for her in the diva search and i have always liked her, though she isnt my favourtie diva, i have noticed her in-ring skills have improved and she is really over with the fans lately, wwe want to mold her into a “perfect” diva, one that can cut promo’s, look diva-like and wrestle and also be over (loved/hated) with the fans. I am going to hold my ground when i say ‘i see alot of torrie wilson in eve’ quote me in a few months or years, well whatever but i just know Eve is the new Torrie for wwe, i also would like to say that a Eve and Michelle feud could work VERY well, you see wwe are trying to make new superstars such as Dolph Ziggler, John Morrison etc more main event status so maybe they are doing the same with the divas with Eve :) I am more of a heel diva lover but there is just something about Eve that i just like (as well as some other face’s)
