TNA has picked up a major former WWE contract… it’s deal with Playboy magazine. The news had been making the rounds in the past few weeks, though nothing was confirmed until now. Knockout So Cal Val was reportedly talking about the new deal last night at the San Diego Comic Con convention.
The first Knockout to pose for Playboy under the new deal is Traci Brooks, PWInsider is reporting that factored into her return to television in such a prominent role.
From the person that I spoke to, it looks as though TNA will be using the tradition in a similar fashion to WWE did with WrestleMania. Traci’s spread will be released in either September or October in conjunction with Bound For Glory, which is TNA’s biggest event of the year.
While I abhor Playboy, I’m curious to see how TNA incorporates Playboy into their storylines. I have to wonder if it would be any different to WWE’s booking, there’s only so much you can do with the idea. “I’m hot and in Playboy.” “I hate Playboy, you’re a skank!” We’ll see if TNA can draw anything new & different.

It makes sense I guess, more exposure for TNA. Just not sure how it’s going to reflect on the KO’s division, hopefully not what WWE did and push her to the belt.
Lol at the “I’m hot and in Playboy.†“I hate Playboy, you’re a skank!†thing. I do think Melina brought the heel role slightly beyond that though…hating the Playboy models was sort of her ‘thing’ for two/three years.
Playboy storylines always suck. I mean good for them for getting the extra exposure but keep the Playboy stuff as brief as possible. And she’d better not be getting anywhere near the title. Show your cooch in a magazine, get the title regardless of your relevance to the division. There’s a precedent that doesn’t need to be set.
tna are hyprocrits if you ask me, they say they aren’t divas yet the copy them by doing playboy; the say matches like swimsuit contest and stuff aren’t for them yet Taylor Wilde and Angelina Love had a swimsuit contest, evening gown contest and “talent” contest, pshhht. Also i would say most of them would jump to wwe if gotten a chance. I feel Traci is a good choice for playboy as they do always bang on about “the double d’s” (on impact nash said it) Or maybe they will do what they done with Leticia Cline, let her pose then fire her hehe joking. I just think lately tna want to have more “diva” like knockouts rather than being original, its kind of a kick in the mouth to hald the knockouts as they say that their division is seen for it in-ring looks not appearance, but with playboy i disagree they obvisouly want to make fans see them for their looks not in-ring styles, also i think some indy girls who bigged tna knockouts up may be dissopointed.
p.s. and they sign a “d lister” model and possibly a pornstar!
It’s kind of funny how the whole Knockouts bashing Divas came out like this. And, I never thought about saying this, but, Traci looks so UGLY in comparison to Maria or Candice. Gosh, couldn’t they put Jenna Morasca in there, as much as she sucks at wrestling, the girl got a pretty face and a pretty bootay. SoCal Val would be good too.

She has massive breasts though, which is ultimately what matters in Playboy. They can airbrush the face to the max, afterall.
Lol, yeah, I love that promo. The bitch line was a bit ‘eh’ though, and Candice sounded like nails-on-chalkboard, as is the norm. My favourite Melina promo is the sexual harrassment press conference. :) I miss uber-bitch Melina. :(

I love the knockouts division and TNA, but this makes me want to puke. I think having such talented ladies pose for playboy is so degrading. A few of the knockouts I can imagine are pretty stoked about this (So Cal Val, Traci, etc) but I wonder how the knockouts who have been in this industry for a long time as wrestlers and not valets feel about this decision.
TNA kills me thats all I have to say….
