Best & Worst Dressed lists can make or break careers in Hollywood and for a site with ‘Dirt’ in the title, it’s only fitting we take this time tested feature & apply it to our Divas! Each week we’ll bring you the best and worst looks from the week gone by, it’s pretty simple right?
Key: School-like grading scheme
It wasn’t a great week for Diva/Knockout fashion this past week. So I guess I’m clutching at straws with my ‘Best’ picks for the week, but congrats to Melina, Gail Kim and Michelle McCool anyway.
Big pay per view match usually means new attire for our Divas, as we saw at Night of Champions when Melina wore what I think was a new variation of her usual ring-wear. The maroon coloured tights are a nice addition to her wardrobe which ranges the rainbow already. C
As for Raw Diva, Gail Kim, her usual off-the-shoulder tops and shorts were back this week in silver. Again not out of the norm for G-Kim but I liked it in silver. C
Last but finally not least is Michelle McCool, who busted out a new colour much like Melina for their PPV match. Michelle is one of those girls that not every colour suits, so the colour choice could have gone wrong here… but thankfully, it didn’t. I would go as far as to say this is probably Michelle’s most flattering variation yet, green seems to suit her exquisitely. B-
This week’s ‘Worst’ after the cut:

With the good comes the bad and sadly for this crop of Divas & Knockouts, they fell short of reaching an acceptable Diva Dirt standard. Apologies to these girls but if they’re reading [which they likely aren't] consider it a challenge to make it to our ‘Best’ list next time!
Remember how we mentioned new colours for big PPV matches? While Melina and Michelle got it right, Mickie James opted for a less flattering silver with streaks of red option. It would’ve been a real sight at Night of Champions had Maryse opted for her Iron Man outfit, Iron Man vs War Machine! Minor mishap.
Monday night on Raw saw Alicia Fox try out new attire but it didn’t quite click for me. The pants looked like jeans and I hate wrestling in jeans *coughJILLIANcough* The gold looks good though. Minor mishap.
For Kelly Kelly, wearing a jersey for the pop is really unimaginative. Progressively worse.
It’s a shame to see such a legend conform to the ‘Knockout standard’ of fashion by which I mean mismatched items from a random costume shop. Throw this altogether and you have a ring full of girls who look like they’ve either A) dressed in the dark or B) been to a clothes swap party. It seems Tara has finally succumb to said ‘Knockout standard’ ditching her spandex for the black pants and top. Sure, the former Victoria fits in well with the Beautiful People but at what cost? In her tailored spandex costumes, VicTara always looked like a pure wrestler — which she is; someone who looked the part of a wrestler and didn’t need to atone by trying to divert attention through a hot mess of attire. She doesn’t need to conform to the ‘Knockout standard’ to hang in there with the Angelinas, Velvets and co. Sad to see & I hope it’s not a regular thing. Minor mishap [for now].
Proving things really have gotten topsy-turvy this week, is a woman who was voted ‘Most Stylish’ last year — Layla. Like Alicia and Tara who usually look great, it seems like Layla had an off week. I absolutely adored her ring attire a few weeks ago, when she wore a pastel purple version of this outfit. But I don’t like the hot pink variation, it looks a little gaudy and I’m not sure what’s going on with the black lace. Minor mishap.

BAD LIST:
If i am honest i have never liked Mickie’s in-ring outfits so i agree with you there, also i agree that Alicia should have stayed away from the jeans but i LOVED the rest of the outfit, Kelly kneeds to go back to her old ring gear instead of a hometown t-shirt, however i thought that Layla looked okay (i much preferd her outfits on ecw though) HOWEVER i totally disagree with Victoria being on the “Bad List” to me it looked liked she was going back to the old school Victoria in her fashion sense (back when she was a psycho) i think black and red and silver are the colours that suit her best although saying that she looks good in bright colours too, personally i dont think she belonged on the bad list.
GOOD LIST:
Melina i agree with, also i am liking what she has done with the boots.
Michelle agreed made her look athletic
Gail Kim agreed, mostly love her in-ring gear
BUT YOU FORGOT ROSA MENDES! NOW SHE LOOKED GOOD! For me the best dressed this week was Rosa Mendes! Even if her in-ring skills didn’t excatly look the best this week, she can and WILL improve!

i never really like Mickie James’s ring attire, I get that she goes for the kind of kooky and colourful look, but it’s still pretty awful.
I really liked Michelle McCool in green though.

I’ve also noticed Kelly doesn’t seem to have a uniform-style ring attire, unlike most divas.
if she’s going to do the whole jersey thing, she should make it a regular, like John Cena used to.

I thought Kelly looked good. The black bottom and white cut top with touch of blue/gold complimented her nicely. The Wizards uni certainly helped with her pop, but she’s so over anyway it doesn’t make her look desperate. Kelly’s wrestling boots are back, as she’s been rockin’ Nikes the last two weeks.
I wasn’t feeling that spearmint green outfit on Michelle, unless she’s teaming in a mixed-tag with Finlay and Hornswoggle.
I hope Tara sticks with black pants, because it draw attention away from that gigantic knee brace she wears.
I want Beth to go back to her Glamazon Xena attire.

I’m used to Mickie’s wacky style now, didn’t like Kelly’s, Alicia’s and Layla’s but thought Tara’s attire was okay.

I really hope Mickie, goes heel at some point, just for a chance to get her out of that bland outfit she wears ALL THE TIME…I would love for her to go back to the skirt attire imo. Also I think Melina should be in worst dressed, strictly on the basis, that she wore the same outfit twice in one week, and isn’t that a bad thing fashion wise???

Melanie, don’t listen to Dan333. He obviously doesn’t realize, this is an opinion based blog made for fun involving the Knockouts & Divas, which means wrestling to music to clothes. Blah, why do people come here, if they’re going to complain about the content.
Anyway, I’d say Melina was the best but I love’d Mickie’s outfit from NOC. Then again, no one ever really liked my clothes in high school. lol

Cool article. Here’s how I feel..
Melina – Looked nice in maroon and white. But I find most of her outfits boring to begin with. I guess I liked her better wrestling in skirts, lol. But her style is unique and I guess you have to stay that way.
Michelle McCool – The green was weird. I really enjoy silver and metallics on her though. And the camos because she’s a sort of All-American chick. Just don’t sew the cross in the middle of the chest again.
Layla – I don’t know where she’s getting her outfits from but there use to be a time where she was both sexy, classy and trendy in what she wore. Now she just looks like Eve Torres, lol. I very much thought she was attractive in gold and black when she was Regal’s arm candy.
Kelly Kelly – Yawn. It seems like she gets a style and just when she’s comfortable with it, she just wears anything she buys in some boondock store where RAW is located. I remember when she was going for the stirrups/Torrie Wilson look.. than WWE turned PG, than she was doing some pink pleather thing.
Alicia Fox – I like the gold. Not sure what’s up with that mesh slash denim slash kooky material she was wearing as pants though. I’m just ready for an Alicia Fox make over altogether. She’s a very pretty girl and an even more capable wrestler. I did enjoy her style as Victoria Crawford though, starting in OVW. Cleavage bearing tops, shorts, tube socks and Adidas. And I would also like to get her hair in check, lol. I’m only most critical because I love her so.
Beth Phoenix – What was the point of her going through all those outfit changes in 2007-2008 if she was just going to go right back to her trademark uniform? I mean, it’s much or less the same with a design.
Rosa Mendes – I could care less what she wears cause I can care less about her. She’s so pointless as a wrestler that I literally wanna claw my eyeballs out each time she’s in the ring.
Gail Kim – She looks pretty in silver or metallic stuff, but i think red or blue suits her the best. Her ring outfits are different and makes her more gorgeous.
Mickie James – Lol Certainly she’s not going to win any best dressed awards soon, but there’s no denying that she has a unique wardrobe that matches her personality. I thought the silver and red was one of her more better suited outfits. As long as it’s not shiny pink and orange anymore. I don’t think she’s allowed to wrestle in skirts anymore because of the PG direction and because she herself stated in interviews that she felt uncomfortable.
Bellas, Maria, Eve Torres – Pretty boring
Natalya – More gimmick related than anything else, so that’s great!
Katie Lea Burchill – Finally found her own weird style and she looks absolutely great. She’s currently my favorite diva personality (although she’s not my favorite in ring diva) and I can only hope WWE won’t let her go.
