It looks as though the status of Michelle McCool is still ambiguous, as the Women’s Champion was kept off last night’s house show in Regina, Saskatechwan Canada and will likely miss all of this weekend’s events.
Michelle hasn’t wrestled since the incident last Friday in a match with Eve Torres, though she completed last week’s house show circuit making an appearance the next night — visibly hurt. WWE.com has yet to acknowledge her injury, which leads me to wonder if she’s just taking a couple of weeks off to rest up. I’m hoping we’ll know more after the SmackDown taping on Tuesday.
In extra news, FCW’s Angela Fong served as ring announcer and time keeper at last night’s show. If she completes the weekend circuit with SmackDown, there’s a chance she could be backstage at the taping on Tuesday night. If McCool really is injured, that would be the perfect time for her to debut as she’s already travelling with the brand.
EDIT: We spoke to a source close to the situation who tells us that Michelle’s injury ‘is not looking good’, though she has been very brave in handling it. It looks as though we may be looking at a worst case scenario with McCool being sidelined indefinitely. Our thoughts go out to you, girl!

I hope that her resting up is the case. You would think by now if it was something serious news would have gotten out. Look how quickly information about Maryse got out when she needed surgery for her knee. The lack of any information is very aggravating though. I once thought the TV tapings this Tuesday would finally resolve things but given the complete lack of a Diva’s match last week and the likelyhood of SummerSlam not having a Diva’s match, now I am not so sure. In fact I would be surprised if Michelle does make an appearance and we finally learn something. My way of looking at things though is that the WWE could somply be deciding to put the matches and fueds on hold until after Summerslam. Then they can decide if they want to take the belt off Michelle and who to give it to. Michelle is scheduled to do a SummerSlam Access appearance and hopefully by then something will have come out. My worry though is that Michelle’s injury is serious aka a ligament injury or tear. Sometimes how severe those are can’t be determined for 1-2 weeks after the initial injury.
I hope Michelle is Okay. I missed her, considering I was never a fan of hers, but now i am..weird hehe! I think the divas will have a place a summerslam though. I was looking around and there is a divas poster for summerslam out, doesnt really mean there is going to be a match but imo things look more likely.
MickieJamesFan, is this the Diva SummerSlam poster you saw? If so, it needs to be noted that it was fan-created. WWE did not make it.

Damn. As much as I’m not a fan of hers, I really don’t want her title reign to end like this. I really hope she recovers quickly.
Maybe WWE will start to realise they have other capable women in their company, and in future not have their division revolve around just the one lady.
Speedy recovery, nevertheless.
Crap! First Maryse, and not possibly Michelle too?! I hope her title reign doesn’t end like this. Poor Michelle! :(
Quite the cursed division this is. Trish, Beth, Candice, Melina, Maryse, and now Michelle. The division has suffered from horribly timed injuries over the last few years, usually occurring when said wrestler is in a key angle or is on an amazing run.
Trish was on her way to another classic with Mickie James when the injury cut the match, and epic feud, short. Beth was finally introduced as the contingency plan for the division, only to be put on the shelf herself. Mickie’s first reign? Crippled by those two injuries. Candice was competing in the best match of her career and at long last seemed to be “getting it” before cracking that collarbone in said match. Melina had set the division on fire with the most exciting/fresh babyface character in years before that dreaded heel injury.
Maryse was another one who seemed to be “getting it”, and getting more and more “fan recognition” before that knee slowed her down. Michelle now joins our list. After a lackluster babyface run, the woman reinvented her persona and became quite the entertaining heel worker, having what was/is easily the best feud of her career. But now it’s a big fat “Welcome to the IR ” for Ms. McCool.
The injuries themselves have been devastating enough. But the absolute last thing we need is for the WWE to label their female workers as “injury prone” to justify further neglect of the division. Let us hope that a seed of doubt has not been planted in the minds of Vince and the creative team regarding the value of women’s wrestling in the WWE…
Crap :(. I love Michelle! I’ve been a fan of hers since I started watching the WWE in 2007. I wish her a fast recovery!
I hope she recovers quickly, there’s no one that can possibly take her place right now, she’s just irreplacable…
Recover well Michelle, you deserve that title :D
Thoughts Go To Ms Mcool
Shes Probaly Gonna Keep The Title Until She Returns
They Should Probaly Debut Serena And Angela
And Draft Katie Lea And The Bella Twins To Smackdown
Well Im personally starting to like Michelle a tad bit.If her injury is serious then the only thing to do is strip her off the Womens Title. If she isnt and its only a small injury then like i said b4 have Michelle be in ring commentary or do some backstage segments,or damn make it into a storyline have Michelle tell Laylya or Natalya that she has a minor injury and thatss he will be cleared to fight again in the next week or so. Do something to let us know gosh the lake of information is dumb
As much as I dislike Michelle’s on-screen persona, I respect her skill. She is probably the best “homegrown” Diva ever wrestling wise, even better than Trish. I hope she is able to bounce back from this, as well as Maryse because she’s my girl and I need her back as soon as possible!
May as well engage in pointless speculation based on very, very few facts and a lot of assumptions. Anyway the way Michelle was injured makes it sound like something you would see in a football game. My guess is still some kind of ligament injury. If it was a break or something that needed surgery right away something would likely have gotten out. it has with every other diva that has been out with an injury. the timing of this absolutely stinks though for Michelle. this is the biggest push of her career and it’s one she has worked hard for. Like her or hate her you can’t deny how much she’s improved over the last few years to be a worthy holder of the womens title. A natural 3d match for her and Melina would have been breaking point. Both of them use submission holds which no other diva’s use. Michelle especially has been working on them and a submission match would have fitted in perfectly with the character she is playing. The lack of any news though can’t go on much longer. I still feel though that nothing definate will come out until after summerslam. Right now I think the WWE creative department is so focused on Summerslam that they don’t have the time or a plan to come up with something to explain Michelle’s injury and what’s going to happen to her title. After summerslam then how badly Michelle is injured and how long she’s likely going to be out should all be known and can be addressed. if it isn’t then the WWE is a bunch of damn fools for dis respecting the Womens title and they need to hire better doctors to treat their performers.
