Well, it’s no secret that the TNA Knockouts aren’t the biggest fans of the WWE Divas, but I had no idea it was this bad. Watch below as TNA Knockouts Daffney and Velvet Sky tell us exactly what they think of the Divas:

Meow! The Knockouts can get get pretty catty when they want to, huh?  To be honest, I can’t say I blame them. While Divas like Eve Torres and Michelle McCool have raised the bar for Diva Search girls, the competition itself was a slap to the face to girls who busted their asses on the indies.

The biggest shocker however, are the comments made by Ms. Velvet Sky.  News flash, Vel-Vel: You were in the Diva Search [proof]! I can understand Daffney’s frustration, being a veteran and all, but Velvet made herself look like a hypocrite. Maybe she should be a little more careful before she starts throwing stones in that glass house of her’s. I think the question on everyone’s mind after watching this is: How does Christy Hemme feel about this?

Velvet Sky should just bite her tongue since a huge chunk of those Diva Search girls wrestles better than her.

Daffney on the other hand can say what she please. I love that weirdo.

Besides, for someone who played a large part in Tara bumping her face on the concrete ( how DID you miss her anyway Velvet? ), Miss Sky really shouldn’t talk.

Note: Sorry. I pressed enter early.

  3. I’m with you MarBu13. Kinda sad that girls like Eve and Alicia can wrestle circles around Velvet, yet she still has something to say about them.

I seen this so long ago. lol
Anyway I hate how TNA makes their stars bash WWE, I think it’s so that WWE won’t want them and they’d be stuck in TNA. :-\
This wasn’t scripted but I’m speaking in general.

  5. I would be more inclined to be impartial had Velvet not auditioned for the Diva Search herself. But considering that she did & got cut, she comes across as bitter.

And Velvet is *not* a hypocrite, she has been training for 7 years (or so she says), she was in the Divas search in 07 which means when she entered she already had 4 years experience but lost to girls who had none.
Melanie is right, she’s bitter but I don’t think she’s a hypocrite. Who wouldn’t be bitter? You could have been in the biggest wrestling company in America but you lost to people with no training.

And when this video was shot Ashley was still in the company getting a major push.. So yeah. Nuff said.

I think Velvet is talking about girls not having passion more than being part of the Diva Search in itself. She participated in the contest, but she was involved in wrestling before then. I was think she was a hypocrite throughout most of the video, until it got to the end and she said that if the Diva Search girls had passion they’d be involved in wrestling before the contest. You can’t really argue that point; would most of the Diva Search girls even be in wrestling had they not gotten a WWE contract?

sure vel feel bad that she isnt in wwe…and she is talkin like she is lita or someone who can actually wrestle!!

You make a good point Al. ” Would most of the Diva Search girls even be in wrestling had they not gotten a WWE contract?” I would say no. Same with the girls that got contacted from modeling. Kelly Kelly and my dear Alicia Fox. I just think some girls have no idea what to expect when it comes to wrestling but when they actually get into the business, it changes their mind completely. So you can’t really hate them on that. Michelle McCool – I know she was a fan but would she be in wrestling if the Diva Search hadn’t happened? I don’t know, and maybe we’ll never know. But if being in the Diva Search allowed her a peak inside the business and got her more fired up, I’m a huge fan of anyone who does that (Alicia Fox, Sharmell and Torrie Wilson).

  10. Velvet…..shut up. lol
She was basically a Diva at one point in her life anyway. WIDOW’S PEAK’D BY VICTORIA. How could she forget that? The WWE Divas could kick her ass anyday. And I STILL wish for a WWE Diva vs. TNA Knockouts tournament or something!! I still have my money on my Divas though…..

  11. Most people get into wrestling through a lucky break or through an unusual circumstance, such as Trish and her medical career or Torrie being spotted by Nash. Sure it draws ire when it happens [like Kelly/Alicia getting discovered in a catalogue or the Diva Search] but there’s so many girls who have proven their worth afterwards.

And on Daffney’s note – I think it’s fair for women like herself to be bitter. Because pro wrestling never is a fair game. You have women like herself, Allison Danger, Cheerleader Melissa and others who was supposedly the perfect ” WWE mold. ” Athletic, they could wrestle and most importantly – they were beautiful. So one would think they had a guaranteed shot to the big times if they continued to learn, grow and humble themselves. Right? Wrrrooong. WWE decided to go a complete 180 several years back, fire all the women wrestlers, do this Diva Search competition and hire a majority of the losers (some who still aren’t particularly good in the ring today. Hi Maria). So yeah, I can definitely see her being frustrated since she also had a developmental contract at one time with them.

I’m surprised you guys didn’t see this video until now. It’s been on youtube for ages. This was shot loooooong before Victoria left WWE and Daffney signed with TNA.

But, yeah, Velvel does come off like kind of a hypocrite.

everyone should lay off, this video is outdated so all of you are bashing velvet for something she said years ago

I can’t blame Velvet for being bitter what-so-ever. The Diva Search contest may have had some women who had-had some training before hand, but for the most part the contest was filled with models, models, and more models. The vast majority of women signing up had-had no outside training what-so-ever making them virgins to the ring, and in Velvet’s shoes – someone with training, I’d be bitter too if the majority of the Diva Search winners were simply models. Yes, some have become better wrestlers – Layla’s improved, Eve’s definitely improved, and Christy’s okay – plus, some of the rejects have improved, but you have to remember that this video isn’t exactly recent. It wasn’t done last week, last month, or last year. It was done years ago to my knowledge, making Velvet and Daffney’s statements true. It took most of the Diva Search winners, excluding Massaro, years to become average at it and this video was clearly taped before any of those Divas improved into average wrestlers in the critics eyes. Lol.

I don’t think Christy Hemme would be offended by Velvet and Daffney’s statements when she believes that when you compare TNA to WWE her experiences in her own words are “night and day.” Plus in her own words she feels more relaxed on TNA versus WWE where she basically gives off the impression that the company pushed her into the lime light when she wasn’t ready yet. And with that, that gives me the impression that she wasn’t prepared to be pushed into the lime light as soon as she got there and etc. You can check out the interview with Hemme on Youtube, basically Hemme wouldn’t be offended when she reads that because she’s said it in numerous interviews, including the one that I just watched, that the WWE fired around the time that she was starting all of the good talent and hired all of the Diva Search girls. Lol. That says enough to me that even she, Diva Search winner, knows that the vast majority of Diva Search girls aren’t very talented at first.

RKOyou – Diddo. The video clearly wasn’t done this year making everything outdated. Lol.

  17. Sorry if I’m a little late on this one, but this is the first I’ve seen of this. That said, I doubt that Velvet or Daffney have changed their views since.

  18. TheBeautifulPeople

This Video is ancient. Velvet was expressing her anger toward being cut from the diva search when she made it known when she was auditioning for the DS that she was a wrestler.

  19. WWEDivaFan09

Steven – That’s an assumption that may or may not be true, but the video is outdated. That said, you’re just assuming that Daffney still feels that way when the division has gained some talented woman since then.

  20. I don’t see anyone ‘bashing’ Velvet. Ugh, that word is my pet peeve. People throw it around far too easily. There’s a difference between bashing [i.e. out and out spewing hate towards someone like calling them a 'whore' or a 'slut'] and criticising.

  21. TheBeautifulPeople

How can you judge Velvets wrestling ability when you have only seen her TNA matches. She is a heel, shes not going to be doing impressive moves. She is going to make you hate her in the ring, by choking & kicking her way to victory. Watch her indy matches when she was face, you will see diving neckbreakers, northern light suplex’s etc. So do your research before saying someone cant wrestle well.

  22. @TheBeautifulPeople I have in fact watch Talia Madison’s earlier work on the indies, and I haven’t seen much progression from then to now. In fact, I would say April Hunter was the standout star during Velvet’s T and A (Talia and April) days. I’ve known of Talia for years and have never been much impressed with her. Talia’s strength lies in her character, not in her wrestling ability, IMO. Yeah, I so do my research.

  23. the_glamazon

actually, i agree 100% with Velvet. Shes actually a very good wrestler. just watch Talia Madison vs Victoria. Yu guys have 2 remember that as a member of TBP, she obviously has 2 play second fiddle to Ang (who was KO’s champ at the time), so shes not gonna upstage Ang, cuz then it would be a problem of why would they give Ang the belt when Vel is the better wrestler. Also someone mentioned the incident where Victoria hit her head on the floor. Wouldnt it have looked extremely awkward if Vel had moved over a couple feet to catch Victoria’s head? Also that probably wouldve been worse cuz who knows on what part of Vel’s body her head wouldve landed? I honestly feel like some of u guys are really over critical of some ppl. Shes absolutely right in everything she says. Shes hotter than Ashley and Eve quite frankly AND she had 4 yrs of experience under her belt at the time, so quite frankly i wouldve been offended if i was her

  24. Christie

Wasn’t Daffney an actress hired by WCW and then later trained to wrestle?

  25. PenginPenginELPS

If Velvet cared more about wrestling she wouldn’t be as bad as she is. She’s almost killed girls with chickenshitting out of bumps, and has been so worried with getting into a bigger company that she’s let her actual wrestling ability progress almost zero.
