Usually when a celeb comes to a WWE show, they’re all smiley and happy, taking pictures with the Superstars and Divas for WWE.com. Well newsflash: Slash of Guns N’ Roses fame ain’t no Chilli from TLC [she should legally change her name to that by the way]. While WWE may have been happy to prey off his ~star power~ at last night’s SummerSlam with that shot of him in the audience, homeboy wasn’t quite as complimentary as other celebs [shock horror!] on his Twitter page:

Don’t worry, he’s not totally geriatric. He later corrects himself with “WWE, I mean.” Because that’s the most offensive article in the sentence…
No doubt Slash is referring to last night’s big Diva battle royal [that we didn't get to see and should be grateful], so I wonder: how do we react? Are we supposed to act offended and claim our territory ["Those are our Divas!"] or do we accept that there is some grain of truth in there somewhere? Judging by Maria’s outfit, I’m not in a position to defend.

Agree. WWE have to change the style and the appearance of the divas!
Like someone has to wear clothes not showing their navel or something not making
the proffesionals say like that.
But I also disagree on the other side. I think he is discreminating the divas.
But that is also served as alarm clock for the WWE, they can change the WWE divas
by that news. They should also make a sked for a diva match even one. Tsk, tsk.
Maybe some of the divas…but certainly not all. Though I can’t blame him for feeling that way.
I am très guilty of making disparaging remarks about the Divas, so I can’t hate on Slash with this one. In fact, I find his comment quite humorous and blatantly honest. I hope he frequents many more wrestling events in the future. If that’s what he thinks of the Divas, imagine what he’d say about the Knockouts. :D
All you have to do is look at their outfits they wrestle in and you’d understand where’s he’s coming from. I think the divas with the most wrestling type attire is Beth, Natalya & Melina. All the other’s could be mistaken for strippers.
LOL. That’s pretty funny and true in my opinion. I would say Beth, Natalya, Katie Lee, Melina, and Alicia the only ones that actually have clothes on week by week.

I don’t really blame him, even if the remarks are horribly offensive. If anyone (like my mom) were to turn on any WWE show and saw some of the skimpier-dressed girls wrestling, I’m sure the word “stripper” would be on the tip of their tongue. I just blame it on ignorance more than anything.

It’s called an opinion and I believe everybody is entitled to one. You have to figure this “Ole WASHED UP ASS GUITAR PLAYER” has been around more than his fair share of strippers, so I’m sure he knows what he’s talking about. Was it nice what he said? No, not really. But that’s not to say that it doesn’t hold some legitimacy.
Er, TheWWEUberfan… celebrities have been trashing each other for years. Just because you’re a fan of those being trashed on this occasion, doesn’t make it a bigger deal than usual.
There’s nothing wrong with agreeing with his comments. You don’t have to support and swallow all the shit that is shoved down your throat. That’s called being a mark. There’s always shades of grey when it comes to being a fan, it’s not all black-and-white. I agree that most of the girls dress like crap and they pretty much got pwned, the strippers comment is obviously hyperbole on the dude’s part but that’s his gig: being outspoken. Agreeing with him doesn’t mean we don’t ~support the Divas~ no one said we had to ride or die.

Some of the divas in WWE could probably kick his ass. Divas like Mickie James, Melina, Gail Kim, Natalya, Beth Phoenix, Katie Lea are really talented divas. And divas like Eve are still training and are getting better. It isn’t the diavs fault that WWE make them dress like that to wrestle.
There’s really no reason to put the blame on anybody. The Divas dress the way they want to, it’s not like WWE throws a suitcase full of clothes at them and tell them to pick the skimpiest. They’re just going to dress in what makes them comfortable, or… “stand out”. -cough- Maria. -cough-
ah let it go, ppl who know nothing about wrestling, like to judge, and point out things that to us wrestling fans seem pointless. I mean yesterday my brother invited two girls over from work, who knew nothing about wrestling and didn’t know any of the storylines, but they just wanted Cody Rhodes to win because he had the triforce on his socks (true story). Let him speak his mind its obvious he doesn’t even watch wrestling so to the average person, hey they might actually look that way. Just I wouldn’t take it serious.
Lol, it’s not like he was calling them pissed off strippers that can’t wrestle, he called them pissed off strippers. Yes, it’s offensive and yes it’s probably rubbing some people the wrong way, but at the end of the day some of the WWE Divas do flaunt around like strippers. Yes, the male viewers love it and always have, which is why the Divas were often called eye-candy, but in this day in age where the WWE has somewhat evolved into having beauty + talent for the exception of a few, maybe toning down the cleavage would be nice.

The fact that he incorrectly used the term “WWF” (Slash, that name was gone seven years ago) only proves he doesn’t know much about the business… thus, he cannot respect the work **most** of these women. There was definitely some truth about the stripper part though… Maria looked like one.
