WWE has reportedly signed Orlando Magic dancer, Trinity McCray to a contract. The official Twitter page for the Magic Dancers says that McCray is set to start training this coming Monday, presumably in FCW:
Don’t think I ever told u all where Trinity was going this yr! She’s now a WWE Diva Wrestler! Starts training on Mon!
McCray is 21 years old and resides in Orlando, Florida.

Thank you WWE! about time we get more black divas!
August 30, 2009 at 12:40 am
I see they’ve started with this again. *sigh* But what really surprises me, SHE’S BLACK!!
=OO
August 30, 2009 at 12:41 am
SHE’S BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!!! OMG, I’M IN LOVE!!!
Ok, stopping with the straightness, let’s hope she can wrestle
August 30, 2009 at 12:52 am
I’m kinda bummed that they’re still hiring dancers and models. It sucks to know that there’s all these girls working their asses off in the indies and girls that have never really followed wrestling get to jump to the front of the line. Saying things like “WWE Diva Wrestler” kinda tells me that you haven’t been following wrestling for too long–it just sounds like something an outsider would say.
Still, I’m just glad it’s not another blonde chick. Good to see some diversity, at least.
August 30, 2009 at 12:55 am
@ Erin – Couldn’t agree more, SHIMMER ladies are fantastic and WWE ignores it and gives jobs to dancers and cheerleaders…oh well, like I said before she’s BEAUTIFUL, but I’m really hoping she can wrestle decently
August 30, 2009 at 12:55 am
I like the diversity also, sure they have Layla & Alicia, but having a darker skinned girl gets a thumbs up from me. Tyra would be so proud.
August 30, 2009 at 1:00 am
(sigh) not another model, why can’t WWE hire any real wrestlers but this shouldn’t be a surprise by now,the only real women wrestler WWE has signed recently that has had fans excited is serena deeb but WWE only hired her because serena got a nose job and a boob job,if she hadn’t,WWE wouldn’t have signed her
when will WWE ever learn but i like that shes back, the diversity is great
August 30, 2009 at 1:10 am
@RKOYou I KNEW IT LOOKED LIKE SHE HAD A NOSE JOB!! I just thought it was the camera angles…..Wow. I liked her nose!
August 30, 2009 at 1:23 am
Diversity or not, at least hire a woman who actually has a wrestling background. I surely thought that the WWE was done hiring women who didn’t have a background in wrestling, however I was wrong. She’s pretty, however I’d much rather see an African-American woman with a background in wrestling being hired rather than a Magic Dancer.
August 30, 2009 at 1:26 am
different camera angles???lol, serenas natural nose was HUGE,it really looked disgusting, she got the nose job done last year in 2008 and now she looks way better.Thats the only reason WWE signed her, because she looked hotter with the nose job and also, she got a boob job.I know,WWE is so shallow, thats what i hate about them
TheWWEuberfan, you said you liked her nose, which one,her old one or her new one?
August 30, 2009 at 1:50 am
Great, another dancer with no in-ring experience gets a contract. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt, though. She’s gorgeous and she’ll hopefully have the athletic background to do well in the ring.
Hopefully, she’ll follow the Alicia Fox path into Diva Dirt’s heart.
August 30, 2009 at 2:01 am
Well if she can develop at the same rate as Angela Fong (who came from a similar dancing/cheerleading background) I’m sure I will like her.
And she’s pretty.
But yeah I do hope they call up Serena sometime this year or early next year.
August 30, 2009 at 2:01 am
Um why keep signing divas like you actually care about them. Look at the Divas on the main roster…they have like no storylines and yet girls are getting signed like they are becoming extinct. WWE is just wasting money.
August 30, 2009 at 2:05 am
@ TheBeautifulPeople – True, that’s why I feel some divas need to go -to the left, to the left- COUGHmariaCOUGH
August 30, 2009 at 2:48 am
Trinity McCray reminds a lot of former WCW Nitro Girl Chiquita Anderson
WWE probably signed her to see if they will have the same sucess like with Alicia Fox
August 30, 2009 at 2:56 am
has anyone even thought, that might be Lillian’s replacement.
August 30, 2009 at 3:17 am
How do we know she doesn’t follow wrestling? That ‘tweet’ wasn’t from her it was from the dance company. She could be a really big fan who has always wanted to break into the business. But I do agree about the modeling thing, it’s kind of a shame.
August 30, 2009 at 4:20 am
WOW!
I’m so happy not because she’s black but she’s a dark-skinned black woman. They have Layla who is mixed they have Alicia who is brown skinned not they have Trinity.
I just hope she would become a good wrestler just like Alicia and take the job serious.
August 30, 2009 at 4:38 am
@PedroPedroso17 Maria would be one of the last divas I would want to see go. They should just stop hiring girls period. They are just burning money by hiring random girls who they have no intention of doing anything with. 90% of the girls on the WWE roster are just there….wrestling, managing etc. Nothing special like storylines or anything. Just being there to be there. The girls just look slightly different. They have 0 personality because they don’t cut promos, they don’t even talk most the time. Thats why I think WWE is ludicrous with signing these girls. They are being pushed to do anything on TV. How do you have Beth & Natalya on your payroll, and yet you refuse to let them have a wrestling match? Im just puzzled on that one.
August 30, 2009 at 4:43 am
@ TheBeautifulPeople: That’s true, they don’t give divas that much storylines, but I’d prefer seeing Maria leave wrestling, and let more talented women like Serena and April take her spot. Nothing personal against Maria, she seems like the nicest girl, but fact is, she’s not or ever will be an acceptably good wrestler, so yeah, WWE SHOULD stop hiring girls and SHOULD take Maria out of the ring!
August 30, 2009 at 4:51 am
WWE should just stop their women’s division altogether. They don’t care about it anyways. Everyone knows what their women division is anyways. 2000-2005 were the glory days. Today Women’s Wrestling fans watch REAL women’s divisions like Shimmer & the TNA Knockouts.
August 30, 2009 at 5:01 am
@ TheBeautifulPeople: I can understand why you lost faith on WWE, but in my opinion, you can still watch great wrestling delievered not by Maria, but by Melina, Michelle, Beth, Gail, Alicia, Layla…
In my opinion, the WWE Divas division is good at the moment, not perfect, but good, of course SHIMMER athletes are a lot better than most Divas, but there are women on WWE that deserve to be there, that fought to be there, some of them get used the way they deserve (Melina, Michelle, Mickie, Beth, Alicia) and some of them don’t (Jillian, Katie, Natalya, Gail, Layla) but hey, TNA Knockouts division also has some flaws, naming Cody Deaner having the possibilty to become Knockouts Champion, is THAT worth watching???! I don’t think so, but watching Hamada V.S. Daffney sure was, and watching Melina V.S. Layla was to, and I’m going to have faith on WWE’s women division until there’s nothing more to have faith in!!
August 30, 2009 at 6:04 am
I like that they hired someone new. Tired of the blonde girls no offense. And did you know Tyra Banks is following WWE Twitter? I’m sure she watches it because of Alicia Fox. Eh probably not though. Yay! I’m so excited hope she isn’t like Rhaka Khan.
August 30, 2009 at 10:33 am
WWE can build an interesting women’s division if it wants to. All the commentary seems to do is put them over as “smart, sexy and powerful” every week, they have a 5 minute match and they’re done. That is not how to build interest. Mickie and Melina are the most over women in the company. WWE needs to let the Divas have actual STORYLINES, that includes promos, in-ring segments and backstage segments. On RAW it seems out of the question with that stale main event scene engulfing the entire show. Not just the Divas but everyone else in the undercard also suffers from this. It’s more possible on SmackDown as it’s been the better brand since the Draft.
Sad thing is that there is a good number of experienced women wrestlers, as well as some improving, upcoming girls (Alicia, Kelly, Layla, Eve).
August 30, 2009 at 10:56 am
Love the diversity, but there’s one small thing… can she wrestle?
August 30, 2009 at 12:25 pm
How are these girls getting contracts? That’s all I want to know.
August 30, 2009 at 3:17 pm
@Tiffany: I’m guessing WWE scouts just go to various sporting events, close their eyes, point at the dance team, and hope for the best.
Not to pysched about another dancer/model getting signed, but after signing three actual wrestlers in a row, the ‘E was bound to return to their old ways sooner or later.
August 30, 2009 at 3:28 pm
What do you mean “at least its not another blonde girl”. People act as if the WWE is full of just blonde haird women. Thank God it’s not another stick thin brunette who wants to be like Melina but never could be (Liviania aka Candy Girl and April Lee aka April Jeannette). I don’t want to see any more women like them or like your Maria or Candice Michelles. People always go on about being too many blondes, but what about all the “brunette bimbos” who can’t wrestle? It really annoys me as as is discriminating, as if WWE should never hire any blonde women…even if they can wrestle.
August 30, 2009 at 5:58 pm
There still hiring Dancers and Crap ?…..
WWE is never sucessfully going to build a decent womens divison
Seriously! Okay yes she is black…regardless of the fact we need some more actual wrestlers y cant they hire anybody from shimmer seriously.Well all I have to say is good luck to her.
August 30, 2009 at 6:00 pm
Miss Trinity McCray seems to be quite the talented dancer, because judging from her myspace photos ole girl is gonna put Layla to shame in the dancing department. Not that it really matters but she certainly seems well versed in multiple styles of dance which will for sure help her with the physicality of her wrestling training. Aside from that she’s a lot curvier (lol she gotta donk!) and it’s just nice to see a dark girl in WWE, that photo doesn’t do her justice very pretty girl.
August 30, 2009 at 6:10 pm
I’m actually quite surprised at the amount of comments this post is getting! It’s quite obvious WWE isn’t interested in having an all-out women’s division like TNA or even SHIMMER. They’ve been hiring models & dancers for years, I don’t see it as anything out of the ordinary this time. Sure they’ve signed a few wrestlers this year too, but that doesn’t mean they’ve given up on signing models/dancers.
August 30, 2009 at 7:24 pm
I’ve never been too big on signing models/dancers, but as an African American I am happy to see some diversity. Being a dancer she probably has alot of spunk, much like Layla.
August 30, 2009 at 7:38 pm
Give the woman some time in FCW to develop. Just look at how Angela Fong has turned out.
August 30, 2009 at 9:45 pm
She’s pretty and actually dark (cue squealing and clapping of hands)! ‘Neways, much as Black Pride denotes I be proud, Wrestling Fandom dictates I roll my eyes at the fact that she isn’t an actual wrestler. At least with the dancing background it should be easier for her to train and build stamina.
August 31, 2009 at 4:14 pm
This pains me for one reason: there are amazing wrestlers on the WWE like Melina, Mickie, Gail, Beth, ect and yet they keep hiring models that I know they are going to have to job to. I love the Divas divsion and hate that everyone is calling it horrible. Its NOT, its the writers pushing the wrong people. Think back to 2000 to 2005, what if they pushed stacy, torrie, and Nidia over Victoria, jazz and Lita? thats what basically is happeing now. It sucks the real wrestlers dont get the recogniton they deserve cuz everyone for some reason is freaking hung up on Maria and Kelly Kelly, let go of the damn so called golden years and accept change.. everyone is being babies about it.
September 1, 2009 at 8:59 pm
Finally we get another black diva and I hope she turns into a good wrestler like angela.
