Much like WWE’s hiring process, sources reveal to me that TNA too, is now looking to hire more model-like women. The mandate was laid down by TNA President, Dixie Carter herself.
Carter is said to be only interested in hiring ‘beautiful women’, though thankfully for fans — ones that can actually wrestle.
One source tells me: “She [Dixie] wants beautiful women who can wrestle.”
As we’ve reported, TNA is close to clinching a deal with former Diva, Kristal Marshall and also spoken internally about Candice Michelle.
With Dixie wielding more power than ever after benching TNA founder Jeff Jarrett, it wouldn’t be surprising if the company and ultimately, it’s television output, was moulded more in Carter’s image. TNA is looking to hire more new Knockouts in the near future, it was reported earlier this week.
Now, there’s nothing wrong with that per se but in a division that has always been celebrated for it’s unique appeal, it seems a step back and almost hypocritical. If we take a look at the roster, some of their most popular Knockouts aren’t exactly conventional beauties i.e. Awesome Kong, ODB and others.

People have different opinions on “beautiful”. I don’t know what she thinks of beauty, but I’m hoping not to see more Velvets and Christys.
I’m hoping to see Lena or Cherry as Knockouts, they deserve to be there for their hard work and talent, not Candice!

Kristal is forgivable – she was part of the Lashley deal. Candice is iffy but she was an A-list Diva so it’s somewhat understandable but this could be starting a dangerous precedent. And I pray TNA never gets their own developmental territory. It’s seemingly very easy to go down the slippery slope to choosing your female wrestlers out of a catalog. Shimmer has more than a few women who fit the stereotypical socially approved definition of beauty that also happen to come with real talent and dedication. Dixie should start there first.

yessssss,now TNA can hire Nevaeh from shimmer.Nevaeh is BEAUTIFUL and she diffinitly has that diva-look to her and she can also wrestler,it’s the best of both worlds

Don’t know about this one. If it’s some indy women from SHIMMER (like RAIN who was also Peyton Banks in TNA) with the model looks she’s wanting then fine.
Just as long as it doesn’t jeopardise the exisitng girls.

Well, Kristal and Candice Michelle aren’t your TYPICAL Diva, and they never had been. They were the unique Divas of the bunch – not having blond hair, not having the simple gimmick, and not being one-hundred percent talentless. However, I can see where the hypocrite comes from, but still TNA doesn’t and hasn’t hired your TYPICAL Diva, and I doubt we’ll ever see a TYPICAL Knockout in TNA.

I think it all goes without saying. I mean, it’s not as if they ever hired non-attractive people, is it? ODB and Kong are both attractive in their own right, I just hope that what is said is true, and the emphasis is still on the wrestling.

Kaledrina – While they are attractive in their own right, they aren’t ‘conventionally’ attractive and that seems to be what Dixie is going for, I’m told. She’s looking for girls that look like models.

TBH I really don’t see anything wrong with hiring pretty women. Beautiful women wrestling makes me think that someone can look hot and wrestle that’s badass! I don’t however like how the WWE is doing it and hiring models and dancers with no knowledge of wrestling whatsoever. At least Dixie is looking for a real total package.

I don’t know how I feel about this. A small part of me thinks this is EXTREMELY hypocitical. I think back to when the Knockouts Started and the women who caught my attenntion were Awesome Kong, ODB and Roxxi. Because they weren’t “Beautiful” in the normal sense of the word. But they could kick some SERIOUS ass in the ring. Its actually what made me not watch WWE as much, but i refused to miss Impact! I stil ont to this day. I Tivo it and watch it live. And then gernerlly watch the Tivo again on Friday. I Adore TNA because if shows, unlike most WWE telecasts, that women can do just as good as the men. And that they’re capable of putting on awesome shows. My life would suck if Impact sddely went off the air and I wa forced to watch only WWE, and I pray that Dixie knows what she is going and doesn’t epically fail at this!
But sadly I see that happening.

finding beautiful that can wrestler can be hard since WWE has all the good ones so TNA is really going to need to take out there telescope and start looking because there aren’t many left

charlierogue26 – I don’t see TNA hiring talentless women with pretty faces. They aren’t the WWE, they’re not simply looking for a pretty face, they’re looking for a pretty face with talent and that’s what sets them apart from the WWE.
