The ECW Divas got a rare opportunity to wrestle last night on WWE Superstars, as Nikki Bella of the Bella Twins [in case you didn't know] took on Katie Lea of the Burchill siblings, in a rehash of the extremely one-sided feud from this past summer. You can’t really even call it a feud because if it were, Katie would at least get the upperhand once — hence the ‘one-sided’ feud. The Bellas win all the matches in rinse & repeat fashion. Watch below:
Without even watching the match, you would know exactly what happened and thus, it doesn’t even bear reviewing. You know those horror movie rules in ‘Scream’? Well here are the rules for ECW Divas matches:
A) If Katie Lea is in the match, she is most definitely going to lose.
B) If either Brie or Nikki have a singles match, they are most definitely going to switch places for the finish.
C) The fans will be bored to effin’ death & won’t give a flying fudge because they’ve seen it all before.
Pretty much sums up this entire match, no? Rinse, repeat, bore.
It doesn’t help matters that the Bella Twins are awful in the ring and their ring gear is so ~f**king distracting~ I guess I should be over it by now, but seriously all the red is puke-inducing. Please Bellas, switch it up. A little bit of black — even if it is just your boots — would make it less nauseating. I really, honestly do feel nauseated when I see them. The ruffled arm bands, the boot covers, the flower in the hair… too much going on, DNW.
As for the match, you’ve seen it all before. It wasn’t as terrible as Brie vs Katie, it seems Nikki got all the wrestling competency in this duo. She’s comfortable in the ring & has good athleticism. She does start out with an awkward looking monkey flip, but then does a Gail Kim-like jump through the ropes when Katie comes charging at her. She then follows this through with a nice looking sunset flip.
Katie now takes control of the match, grounding Nikki while Brie screams on the outside [you can stop now]. She uses some cool chokehold using her leg on the ropes, before doing a similar move that we saw once before in the corner. Fast forward a little bit… Nikki begins to mount a comeback but Katie hits a nice samoan drop on her, not something we see everyday from the Divas.
Blah blah, skip to the finish and Brie switches with Katie and wins with a crossbody. Katie must be really weak if Nikki can kick out of a samoan drop, but she’s put away with a crossbody. That’s WWE for you! I feel like we should rework that “hos over bros” saying, “models over wrestlers.”
In all, this match was the equivalent of a first class ticket to Yawnsville. Though I am thankful it was Nikki and not Brie in the match.

uh. how many times are we gonna watch the same 3 girls “wrestle”? they’re boring as hell. ECW is the show with the lowest ratings ever. i’m sure about that!
I don’t even think I need to comment on the match, so I’ll just say: Katie Lea’s hair is freakin’ awesome. It’s just a shame she’s a jobber.

The Bellas r just plain boring they serve no purpose all they do is switch in all there single matches.
There theme is horrible, their outfits are Tacky and horrible. Maria & The Bellasgo down for the wrost ring attires in wwe divas history…
Same old boring match..Release the Bellas bring Serena Debb to ECw so we can have Katie,Courtney,Angela and Serena Debb on ECW that would be a great ECW Divas Roster…

WWE’s creative team never ceases to amaze me with their utter lack of creativity. What really gets me, is the fact that Katie is supposed to be a heel, yet the matches are almost booked with her in the face role. The Bellas are clearly less talented, and they are booked to emphasize that. They always cheat to win the match, and Katie comes off as the one who got screwed out of a victory. It makes no sense!
The match itself was not bad, Pretty good on both parts, the ending did suck. I would have prefer some sort of finisher or roll-up of sorts(I am tired of roll-ups but thats definitely better than a simple crossbody).
I have to disagree with the comment made about the Bella’s outfit. They always wear amazing stuff. The ruffles make them unique and definitely represents their latin background which is their purpose I would assume. I love that they wear the flower in their hair, they make it their own. As for the new shorts definitely loving them as well. The outfits were pretty much amazing!
As for Nikki and Brie’s wrestling I also feel they definitely deserve some credit they are doing great and the moves on this specific match were pretty much on point. Not everyone can execute each and every move perfectly so I don’t think they should be judged on that. They definitely have the athleticism which makes them more in-ring comfortable unlike people like Maria who look awkward when in the ring. But I do agree with the comment of Nikki being the better wrestler but that doesn’t make Brie horrible, just not as equal to her sister’s wrestling.
The Bella’s are decent in the ring and don’t look arkward in matches at all. I just despise this angle that’s been going on for about a year now. They did it with Victoria last year, they are now putting Katie Lea into that role. Sad. How many times can they bait and switch? They have the wrestling skills but they could also be used as underdog babyfaces. Give Katie some wins over them. She needs to be on one of the other brands as a top heel!

The ECW diva matches take place on Superstars, not the ECW show. And i think the ECW show itself is rather good. It took some time to get used to the new wrestlers (if you didnt follow FCW), but with Golddust, Sheamus, Zack Ryder, Shelton Benjamin, William Regal’s faction and Christian they put on a good show every week. I rate ECW much higher than RAW when it comes to wrestling.

wwe continues to push the bella twins why they dont stand out in my opinion whereas katie does. shes got a different personality from all the other divas and i like her arsenal she must be doing something wrong for wwe to use her in such a bad way :/

As i said in a previous post, I can see Katies future, jobbing to the rest of the divas on ECW or being released.
Also I think ECW ratings are a just sometimes around TNA impact, for example impact usually pulls around a 1.5 – 1.9 rating whereas ECW is usually about 1.2 – 1.6 I think. Not 100% tho.

I dont understand why The Bella Twins changed their Theme Music, Their previous one was definetly one of the best Diva themes from this year but their new one is just awful. :(
And also Katie Lea finally has he own Theme. :D And i think it suits her new Gothic look.
If Katie does get released I TRULY hope TNA will pick her up. She’d be a perfect fit for the Knockouts division. Plus with the tag division and rumours of a second show they need some more girls.
The Bellas Theme isn’t exactly “new” right… IIRC they came out to that theme when they were special guest announcers in an episode of ECW I think.
im so sick of this. either the bellas need to be seperated or one needs to be heel and the other needs to be face. it gets really boring seeing the same crap wrestling all the time. Katie needs to be moved to SmackDown! or RAW, an ECW just needs new wrestling divas. :p
