We can all agree that, with a few exceptions, Divas get the short end of the stick when comes to entrance themes. While the male superstars get music from actual bands and artists or custom made songs with lyrics, Divas get stuck with crappy production music. If I had the chance I would change all the Divas music to something a little… well, better. Hence, Diva B-Sides was born; a Diva Dirt exclusive where we match WWE Divas and TNA Knockouts with new entrance themes. This week I’m covering ECW Divas Katie Lea and The Bella Twins.

THE BELLAS TWINS – “PATRON TEQUILA” BY PARADISO GIRLS
ECW’s resident dynamic duo debuted a new theme this Thursday on WWE Superstars, and boy was it awful. Not as bad Jenna’s music, but still cringe-worthy nonetheless. Sounds like these girls are in need of a emergency B-Side.
As Melanie pointed out on the Diva Dirt Twitter, their new theme sounds like cheap Pussycat Dolls rip-off. That said, what better than an imitation PCD to sing their B-Side?
Honestly speaking, I should be ashamed that I know (or like) this song, but I really think it’s energy and danceable beat suits the Bellas quite nicely. The subject matter may be a bit questionable, but who’s really paying that much attention to The Bellas. Really…

Katie’s B-Side after the cut

KATIE LEA BURCHILL – “I GET OFF” BY HALESTORM (Submitted By Diva Dirt Reader Randy Sommers)
Katie Lea also debuted a new entrance theme this Thursday as well and it also left me less than satistfied. It just sounded so generic, and for someone as unique as Katie, that’s a no-go.
This particular song was suggested by a Diva Dirt reader, and I couldn’t agree more. The song’s intro is sultry and mysterious and goes straight into hard guitar riffs in the chorus. I think it reflects Katie’s sinister, sexy image as well as her hard-hitting style. From start to finish, this song is all Katie Lea.

LOL @Bellas B-Side, it’s still better than their theme…
I love Katie’s theme on WWE right now, but this B-Side would be amazeballs, it’s the perfect fit!

Great song for Katie Lea. In fact, great song period. Never heard of Halestorm before, but I’ll check ‘em out. Tremendous.

The Bella Twins have had that theme for a while now…..They debuted it when WWE was in Canada that one week when they were “ring announcers”.

Wow Steven. So your saying that The Birthday Massacre did a bad job at making katies theme? Some people know nothing about entrance music. Entrance music is not supposed to sound like a song off the radio. Its supposed to be a score for the particular performer who uses it.

The Beautiful People: I can respect that you don’t agree with my choices or my opinion for that matter, but please don’t put words in my mouth. Never once did I say that the band, whoever they are, did a bad job at making Katie’s theme. What I did say was, I was less than satistfied and I thought it sounded generic. Just a personal opinion. Let’s take the time to actually read next time.
And about that last comment, the whole point of Diva B-Sides is to match the Divas/Knockouts with mainstream,radio-friendly, or even slighly obscure songs that we think match their personalities. I think achieved that goal in my post, don’t you? But alas, what do I know about entrance themes anyway, right?

AH! I love that you picked Halestorm for Katie Lea. “I Get Off” is such an amazing song and it’s perfect for a bitchy, evil diva character. Kudos, DD. Kudos.

I disagree, TheBeautifulPeople. I don’t think the format of the song should be an issue. WCW was notorious for taking mainstream music and creating successful themes out of them. Ever heard of Raven’s WCW theme, or Chris Jericho’s “One Crazed Anarchist,” or even DDP’s “Self High Five?” All of the above themes were created from songs that were highly popular at the time (90′s grunge by the way). Practically, taken straight from the radio. I would not venture to say that composers/musicians like Jimmy Hart “knew nothing about entrance music.” Creating a score from a popular song can be achieved, and quite brilliantly as proven by history.

I think the song you’ve chosen for the Bellas would suit them. Liking Katie’s, but I would love to see her come out to Marilyn Manson like she did in OVW.
September 13, 2009 at 2:55 pm
Never mind. But wrestling themes are VERY different than radio songs. Thats why the songs are special.

TheBeautifulPeople — First of all, your first comment was really rude.
Secondly, why are you taking this so seriously? It’s just for fun. No one is saying ZOMG THEY SHOULD BUY THESE SONGS AND USE THEM!!!! They’re just IDEAS for FUN.

I really can’t muster the will to care what music the Bellas come out to; but I LOVE the B-side for Katie Lea! I have no idea who the band is but this song is so on!!!
@TheBeautifulPeople: Really? Really (Sarcasm)!?! Seriously tone down the attitude and insinuations. We all know the songs are supposed to be “special”. If we think it’s crap, we think it’s crap. Still doesn’t affect anyone outside of who read these BLOGS anyways.

A bit late, but I LOVED Katie’s B-side! I liked the song so much I DLed it off i-Tunes and it’s just about perfect for her. This is a great band!

I love the choice for katiee’s B-side!! I think it fits her perfectly, while still sounding amazing…and now I can’t stop listening to that song…
