A Divas Championship match was part of the original plans for WWE Breaking Point, which emanates tomorrow night from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The match would have been a rematch from Monday Night Raw two weeks ago, when Beth Phoenix challenged Mickie James. After winning a six Diva battle royal and then facing Mickie later in the night, there was expected to be a renewed push for the Glamazon but the match has since been scrapped.

Of course, Mickie suffered a ruptured breast implant last weekend, though it’s not clear if the cut came from script changes [as with SummerSlam last month] or if it was a recent decision made due to the injury.

  1. Oh im soo pissed off!

Beth could of had the belt but Mickie had to go get her fake boob all bust up and broken GRRRR

maybe Mickie can wrestle a bit through the pain and Beth can carry her really well so then Miss. Phoenix can win the belt and be champ yeeyyy

    xx

  2. DAMN CHEAP ASS BOOB JOB. Lol She should’ve gotten a better one now that she can afford it!! They should at least do a Gail vs. Beth Submission Match. Winner being #1 Contender. But then that’d make no sense…….but when does WWE’s ideas for Divas make sense?

  3. If that battle royal had been for a title shot at Breaking Point, that would work. However, doing it the way they did, then having Beth vs. Mickie again for no particular reason just 13 days after having it on Raw is a puzzling idea. Maybe even WWE realized their plan didn’t make sense.

  4. To be honest, It’s always been something I thought about:

Breast implants + Body Slams = Danger

    !?

  5. so once again, the divas get scrapped for a PPV,when will WWE ever learn?????

you know, the next PPV is Hell in a Cell and I doubt the divas will get on that PPV also

no offence to beth but i’m tired of her getting pushes, she’s been pushed to the moon since her debut in 2007 and her both title reigns have been boring and underwelming,Beth is a better Chaser then a champion,WWE should push Jillian(I know it will never happen but I can dream can I?)

  6. correction on last post,i mean’t “both her title reigns”,not “her both”

  7. I rather not have a championship match involving the Divas if that meant having to force Mickie James to wrestle. The reported injury is extremely serious and so are the effects that come with it. Hopefully, Mickie James has a smooth recovery, because the last thing I want to see is Mickie’s injury becoming a more severe one, courtesy of a match.

  8. Are you kidding me?!?

  9. The last match between beth & Mickie seemed to be a set up for breaking point, but oh well. The PPV doesn’t interest me at all. They have what 5 matches? In a 2 hour program? The funny thing is that several of the matches feature peformers who have never used a submission hold. I hope Mickie does make a speedy recovery. Apart from Lilian, Mickie is easily the most popular diva in the entire WWE. At the live shows I attended in July & August she got hugh ovations.

  10. Damn … Gail Kim went from working every pay-per-view TNA had to hardly ever making it on a WWE pay-per-view.

  11. @TNAFan80: The WWE fans dont really care for Gail Kim, so for WWE it would be weird to put her on a PPV. The Smackdown fans are more appreciative of wrestling so she did much better there, but moving her to Raw was a big mistake. She must either become a heel or move back to Smackdown next draft. And i dont think she is very motivated since she moved to Raw, she has become very sloppy lately.

  12. That’s why there should always be a Plan B!
Gail vs Beth in a submission match for the # 1 contender to the Divas Championship and either Beth or Gail wins or……
wait until Mickie comes back and they both chase her for the title!

  13. ugh. now this would have been something on the card that i would have been excited about…. if it had happened.

really sick of the women not being included on PPV cards. but if this were due to mickie’s “injury” i guess its a half valid reason. better than removing them for no good reason i guess.

  14. In my opinion, Gail Kim vs. Beth Phoenix would be the best option. As we have seen many, many times, Beth Phoenix is a great worker–she can make anyone look good. Gail, unfortunately, needs to step up her game and demonstrate to a new and completely different fanbase that she’s truly worthy to be a title contender (I know that WWE will limit Gail and Beth’s movesets because the women can’t outshine the men, but I’m sure both women can put on a great match. Also, the WWE dished out a lot of money to lure Gail away from TNA. I’m assuming they want to get their money’s worth).

Based on the little interaction we have seen between Gail and Beth, a full out match would work out for the best. Let these two workers put everything they’ve got in the ring. Who wouldn’t like to see Gail’s Flying Dragon on Beth, or Beth’s Glam-Slam submission hold that made Melina say, “I Quit”?

If the PPV is scraped and Mickie’s out, let Beth and Gail have a single’s match. Make it a lumberjack match if WWE wants to include the other Divas, because the tag matches, though somewhat entertaining, are getting stale and predictable. If WWE truly wants to give prestige to the Diva’s Championship, they must make it mean something like the match with Rey Misterio and John Morrison. The Intercontinental Title went up several notches in my eyes when those two went at it for the title.
