In a show of class you rarely see in wrestling these days, the WWE allowed Lilian Garcia to give a farewell speech live on tonight’s Raw, which marked her final appearance in what was a 10 year career with the company. PWTorch has a breakdown of what she said:
• Lilian was given the next-to-last segment of the show just before the main event six-man tag match to give a brief, but very emotional recap of her ten-year WWE career.
• Jerry Lawler set up Lilian’s farewell speech as Lilian choked back tears. He thanked Lilian for over ten years of service to WWE, then sent it to her in the ring.
• Lilian opened her speech by saying she joined WWE ten years ago not knowing what she was signing up for.
•Lilian talked about singing the National Anthem after 9/11 and overseas for the U.S. military during WWE’s annual Tribute to the Troops shows.
• She thanked the WWE crew, announcers, and superstars. Lilian choked up talking about announcing some of the greatest matches in WWE history.
• Lilian thanked everyone for their love and support, adding that she will miss everyone. She concluded by waving to the crowd, which applauded her final speech.

I’m not gonna lie, I thought WWE would do something to make her look bad on her way out. But to my surprise, they man up and gave her a very respectable sound-off, which hasn’t been done for any female since Trish in 2006. Thanks WWE for having a heart…for once.
Thank you so much Lilian for 10 great years. We will never forget you!!! (I’m actually fighting back tears writing this)
Lol. I was expecting a video package or something, but I guess this was better in a way. This is WWE after all, so I’ll take what I can get.
i really respect this woman and dont think there will ever be a better announcer than lillian
Classy, the way Lillian is and will be remembered. Kudos to the WWE for letting her do this, especially since Victoria’s farewell speech wasnt even televised and we all know how Lita was treated on her way out.
PS im officially an Alicia fan after tonight, she looked smoking, better than ive ever seen her, and managed to get a GREAT reaction for her heel like antics.
WAY OT—Next week I SKIP RAW! Reason (and my Constitutional/conservative politics shows), the SO-CALLED Reverend Sharpton. You wouldn’t believe the things this so-called man of the cloth does or says about this country…
Case in point…

By the way good job on Lilian and WWE’s part for that matter.
I’m not her biggest fan but i’m glad they didn’t didn’t humiliate her.
Here’s a pic from her twitterat her party that i thought was cute, It’s her and the Raw Divas http://twitpic.com/io6u1
I am not surprised that wwe gave lilian a great farewell on tv because she was loyal to the company like trish stratus.
The fact is that wwe officials know that lilian is leaving the wrestling industry. she is not going to work for tna, roh, shimmer etc.
If lilian ever returns to the wrestling business, it will be with wwe. The same can be said for trish stratus.
as far as lisa varon goes, wwe was not fooled into thinking she was “retiring” , hence the 90 day no compete clause. wwe knew she was going to tna’s impact zone and they had her lose to michelle, so she would not have momentum going into tna.
amy dumas was not on good terms with wwe especially after they had her play a slut on tv for 2 years and exposed her personal life on tv.
wwe officials likely felt she would go to tna to get revenge for the way wwe treated her. Obviously amy did not go to tna, but at the time no one really bought her claim that she was “done” with the wrestling industry.
Im glad Lilian got the send off, it could of been better if she hosted RAW, & I agree with hartdynasty about Victoria & Lita.
Lilian will never be forgotten.
this was so lovely i was getting alol teary eyed :’(
the crowd started cheering “thank you lilian” at the end :)
its trish stratus all over again
altho when trish retired with the championship i actually cried lol
