So much to discuss coming out of last night’s Raw! It was sad to see the legendary [yes, we are gonna start calling her that now so STFU and STFD] Lilian Garcia retire from WWE. However, a star was born last night in Alicia Fox. Congratulations Foxy, you have truly arrived! Questions coming out of Raw: “Should a woman who has just had her boobs fixed [I'm assuming] really be taking a move like the Glam Slam?” and “Is that Beth’s ‘thank you’ gift for jobbing to Trish last week?”

History was made last night folks; that must’ve been the best shortest match ever. It sucks that the Divas got their time cut, that match was barely two minutes but Beth and Mickie did what they could and it was pretty decent. First of all, Beth’s new attire: do not want. Too bright. Beth Phoenix does not do bright.
Onto the match, first we have Alicia Fox at ringside who got a semi-decent reaction when she was announced by the departing Lilian. Beth starts pummelling Mickie from the outset and goes for a springboard suplex that Mickie nicely counters. Neckbreaker from Mickie followed by a miscued low dropkick. The action them moves to the outside with Mickie hitting a Thesz press from the top rope; we don’t see that everyday. Alicia is up out of her chair but Mickie gets in her face and we get a little exchange between those two with Alicia yelling, “Back up!” This provides the distraction that Beth needs to come back as she rams Mickie into the ringpost and then takes her back into it for the Glam Slam.
I have to be a little concerned for Mickie, if she busted an implant why is she taking a Glam Slam?! Are they covering something up here…? And why bury Mickie twice in one night? Surely it would be more logical for Mickie to beat Beth and then be attacked by Alicia? It seems like a ‘thank you’ to Beth for jobbing to Trish last week, but don’t quote me on that.
Alicia then comes into the ring with the Divas Championship and hits an awful scissors kick on Mickie. She was practically standing! Alicia’s elevation was great but that move did not look good. But post-match, Alicia manages to get monstrous heat from the crowd as she hoists the Divas Title and that my friends, is how it’s done! Alicia Fox, you have truly arrived girl.
Last week I questioned whether WWE would make this a storyline or if it’d be a one-shot title match this week like Kelly, Beth and Gail had earlier this year. Thankfully, it looks like this will be a full blown storyline and I think we have only scratched the surface of Alicia’s character. The heat she managed to draw last night was great, now let’s keep that going! Alicia is a star in the making and I am really excited to see her get a push.

This was a really sweet moment that made me tear up a little. I am so glad that WWE gave her a dignified send-off rather than ribbing her on her way out. She gave 10 years of service to them and this was a beautiful moment and a lovely way to say goodbye. I am grateful to WWE for giving her the platform to say goodbye on the show that has been ‘home’ for 10 years. Thank you Lilian and goodbye ♥

I liked the match could have loved it if it were longer but i love the way the championship looks on alicia
Disagree on two things first of all: Beth Phoenix’s outfit looked awesome and the scissors kick was a beauty. Alicia is lucky that she has a move that if slightly screwed up, like tonight, it still looks great.
(Also I think you meant springboard suplex rather than moonsault. When I read that I was shocked I missed Beth attempting a moonsault!)
Alicia Fox is fierce; I hope she will go far in the Women’s division. Who would believe she was hired at the same time as spot-monkey Kelly Kelly? The time in OVW and FCW obviously did her wonders. Not only is she beautiful, she’s pretty darn good in the ring, exudes charisma, can cut a promo (as shown in the WWE.com video with Michelle McCool back at the Bash) and she is also getting pretty good heel heat, and considering the attractive divas often have a hard time getting heel heat that is something to be proud of and capatalise on.
Lilian; so long and good luck. She improved (as she should have done) but never really got the hang of ring announcing. I know she has many supporters so I won’t say I’m glad she’s leaving, but I’m not sad and I hope this allows Howard Finkle to permantently announce for RAW. I’m glad she was given time to talk and it was a touching speech. Good luck Lilian :)
I mostly agree with punkedemo here. Beths outfit looked good and was a nice change. As for the scissors kick, it was slightly botched because alicia tripped and her leg fell under mickie but it still looked pretty devastating.
I actually agree. When I first saw Beth, not only did I think “Oh, crap, her videogame attire is out of date now!” but geez, the red didn’t half make her look bigger, and not in a good way.
And thank you for pointing out how bad the kick looked. Everybody else last night seemed to be singing it’s praises. To me, it looked like she almost fell over. I actually think they need to develop a new finisher for Alicia, I think I’ve seen her execute it flawlessly only the once or twice.. Maybe her backbraker – or is that not flashy enough? Mickie James wrestling when she’s supposedly injured makes me wonder if the Gail Kim back to Smackdown! rumour is true.
Glad they give Lilian her five minutes though.
Actually, melanie, there is no “conspiracy” theory as to why mickie lost last night on raw.
wwe had two goals to accomplish last night. The first goal was to give beth a win over a female after she “jobbed” to a non-wwe performer last week.
The fact is that beth losing clean to trish was bad for her because trish is half her size and beth is NEVER going to get that win from trish back.
trish is NEVER going to work for wwe as an active talent ever again. At most, she will make an odd appearance for wwe at the raw tv tapings in toronto.
Once trish and her husband start a family, she may cut off her ties to wwe/wrestling industry all together.
mickie did have surgery to repair her implant rupture and the wrestling sites reported this fact and that recovery takes 1 to 2 weeks.
As far as mickie taking the glam slam, she protected her chest by putting her hands down so her chest never touched the mat.
With time constraints, the divas got a quick match so wwe was able to give beth a “win” due to alicia’s distraction and alicia got heat by attacking mickie.
Hopefully, mickie will get a win next week over another diva and then beat alicia in a title match.
alicia has a bright future but she is not ready to be champion yet and wwe needs to keep the belt on mickie for at least 6 months since she is the most popular woman in wwe today and that includes melina.
The match should of been longer than what it was, but it was great to see beth win, after she jobbed last week. Alicia is becoming a great heel, and I hope that she does become divas champion, but I think Jillian should be next not Alicia, Jillian really should get a chance to shine on RAW. & I dont think Mickie should of wrestled last night either, since well like you said she’s just had her boob fixed.

The match was too short however it was packed. They started and went and it turned out (in my opinion) realy good.

@Kaledrina I havnt heard nor saw any rumor about Gail Kim going back to smackdown. She just had the night off, along with Jillian and Rosa.
Now Ms. Fox I love this girl, and I’ve known since ger OVW days when Al Snow would praise her a lot on commentary I knew WWE had someone special. She might be small but she has that Jazz/Jackie intensity where she’ll just beat the crap outta you, like watch when she’s punching she just makes em look vicious ala Jackie/Jazz used to do. If she doesn’t when Divas Champ now, she’ll have it by 2010, but I hope 09 she def is my 09 Rookie Diva of the year.

Beth attire was so awesome , Im glad she won I guess it did make up for last week but the match was too short though….Mickie being buried twice in one night…is fine to me it just shows how much divas are after her title…and how much she has to fight….things like this are suppose to happen….just like Michelle & Melina’s fued….and Im glad and hope wwe lets this be a long storyline and dosent have the title match next week. It should be at Hell in the Cell
I -kind of- liked Beths outfit, it’s really a hit-or-miss thing but I really understand why someone would dislike it. As for the scissors kick, it really looked awful, I love Alicia, love Mickie, but that move needs to go, unless they make it look less of a disaster.
Last night’s Monday Night Raw was pathetic except for Liilian’s farewell. A real class act. The Diva match between Beth & Mickey was over in the blink of an eye. What is up with that? The rest of the show reminded me of a Broadway Show. Smackdown has surpassed Raw for being number 1, and TNA is on the rise.
Mickie was Glam Slammed, but Beth clearly didn’t do the move as powerful as she would’ve done it, and that’s probably due to Mickie’s implant. I’m unsure of which implant ruptured, but I give Mickie a big ol’ kudos for wrestling even with a sore implant. Alicia was fierce, but it’s not really that hard to be a heel. Especially, when all that you have to do is hoist the title, and act confident. But, I’m rooting for Alicia, and hopes she becomes champion at least for a short while.

I thought that the match was very impressive to have been so short. It was good for what it was. I noticed that Mickie’s arms took a lot more of the bump than usual and her body was a lot farther away from the mat to protect that implant, but the move still looked good. And, I like Beth’s attire.
I am starting to like Ms. Fox. She drew some monster heat, something that not many other Divas can do. She has that heel swagger that in itself can make people dislike you. I think, as many others here do, that we may have a star in the making, and here’s to hoping WWE doesn’t drop the ball on her.
Goodbye to Lilian. I deeply appreciate what she has done over the past decade and she will be sorely missed. She will be a tough act to follow.

That kick was not Alicia’s fault. I’m sorry, but Mickie totally botched it. Mickie was practically standing completely erect! When have you ever seen Booker T attempt to deliver his scissors kick to somebody who was standing and not hunched over? Kudos to Alicia for that elevation.
If Alicia botch her scissors kick well she need to do that now on. Because she hit Mickie in the face and in the head/neck that make it more of a impact than just a kick in neck.
A lot of website and reveiws was talking about how sick and great the kick was.

OMG!!! I really hope this fued goes somewhere and I hope Alicia starts getting the push that she deserves! I want her to be champ and I think she’s capable of being a good one. I also didnt mind the time given cause it was short and sweet.
Beth looked ok. I could take her or leave her. Mickie is still a bit stale to me. So it’s Alicia’s time to shine. Alicia’s kick was SICK!!!!!! Yes it mighta been botched but I like how King covered it up by saying she kicked her in the back of the neck and face. That makes Alicia’s kick even more devestating. Only time will tell where this goes but Im really pullin for A-Fox to be champ! :D
Like the match even though it was too short but i think the meaning behind all of this is to give us a preview of the upcoming future between Alicia and Mickie.
I have always like Alicia i do think she is a star in the making rememeber guys when she was on SD she got more heat than McCool and McCool was supposed to be the most dominant diva on the brand (besides has McCool ever really got heat from the fans) so Alicia does have some charisma on her one good thing about Alicia is that she is young longevity and time is on her side.
In my opinion i am starting to pay more attention to the RAW divas i think they have surpassed the SD divas they have more edge and their action is a lot more crisp
I am liking the push Alicia is getting i think the chemistry is there between her and Mickie if this becomes a feud it may surpass Maryse and Mickie.

with regard to this weeks Raw review by Melanie, normally these are spot on however this week there are a couple of things I would have to disagree with.
1) Alicia’s axe kick. How on earth did that look awful?!? *headscratch* The fact that Mickie was standing almost upright made it even more effective. I thought it was fantastic.
2) I think the hot red colour really suited beth, but that is just my opinion
3) MONSTROUS HEAT MY A***! Yes there were a few boos after Alicia attacked Mickie, but it was hardly monstrous heat. I don’t think the crowd are particularly into alicia, so lets not all get to excited about the impact she is having, because its just a ripple…
Did anyone else notice the crowd was deadly silent when Beth picked up the win? No boos, no nothing really. The glam slam looked botched, and i find it to be such a weak looking move because the opponents put their hands down to protect their face. It clearly doesnt cause any pain whatsoever, but she could at least have a move that does look devastating.
Beth used to get some heat but the problem is that her character has been stagnant I think Beth needs a babyface turn
I personally dont think Alicia’s kick was bad at all. For some reason I never found Alicia as attractive as I did on Raw, mainly because of the ridiculous attire she wears sometimes. But she had a air of confidence and ‘star’ around her tonight that noone can really deny. And I havent heard a diva get a heel reaction like that on Raw for a LONG while, great work foxy!
Last night Raw was lame, Lilian exit stage left but the show must go on!!! I just love how wwe gave lilian a goodbye speech and graced her as the godess of the wwe well, Lita and Victoria were treated like fools(even though day in and day out they went into that ring and took shots that none of us can take) but yeah okay allow the “announcer” to say goodbye in high fashion, don’t get me wrong Raw will be kind of weird in the first few weeks but after those weeks are over we will all have to get back to the “wrestling” side of things!! I like lilian and she was a great announcer but yeah thats all im gonna say about that. Well oh well match lasted 2min and like 17 seconds including Alicia sick scissor kick man she got some good height on that, in my opinion i think Alicia would look better with that title not mickie, by the way why would mickie take a glam slam and a scissor kick if her boob is recovering, i think that story about her injury was fake and we should really check are sorces!!! anyway i love how some kid when Alicia was behind Mickie said “Behind You Mickie” reminded me of a scary move are something how she was slowing turning her head and BOMB knocked the hell out!! lol anyway Beth and Mickie sold those 2 mins well full of action love them!!!

SS is wwe ppv to promote SVR10 and as far as Maryse is the Divas Champion on the game, wwe can let her out of survivor series, and as far she is the TOP diva of raw (some people wouldn’t like this but is true and you know that).
And we all go like wtf? she is recovering.. RIGHT FOR 3 MONTHS

3.- She Hold her title for 216 days in her 1st reing, thats a lot even Beth, Melina or Mickie cant get 200 days. She defend her title like Trish or The Fabolous Moolah.
4.-Ranked her #9 of the best 50 female singles wrestlers .. in 1 year?
5.- Have you ever noticed that wwe, doesnt took pictures of mickie with the title? Cause they all now who is the owner of that Belt.

Alicia Fox is probably just a replacement for Maryse until she’s cleared to get back in the ring. I don’t see anything special about her, she bores me to be completely honest. So I’m really anxious for wwe to get this feud out of the way and pick a new flavor of the week, if you will.
I think Alicia needs to build her character a little bit more (assuming she’d be given the time) and have a more definite move set other than the tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and scissors kick. I’m probably making it sound like I dislike Alicia, which isn’t the case, I really enjoyed her re-debut with DJ Gabriel, that was a fun gimmick for her, at least then she was watchable.

@Roqqsz wow i knew that about the whole OFF AIR thing, and ONLINE how many wwe fans actually watch the stuff on wwe.com or on youtube probably not a lot and many kids probably don’t go to the website and watch divas say there good bye speaches because its all about John Cena and The Undertaker in there eyes, that was the whole problem i hade is that the only way you could see her good bye speech was online, give me a break she devoted 7 yrs to that organization, helped wwe divas like McCool get pushed and yet they give her a lame ass off air speech. boo wwe….Yay to TNA…
